"Her Port in the Storm" is a historical romance novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Another great historical romance by Grace Clemens who once again brings a cast of strong ,well developed characters and an adventurous story line. She describes her scenes perfectly , taking you back in the day with a realistic feel. She pulls you in with all the drama and intrigue as well as the sweet romance. It's well written with a strong dialogue ,moves fluidly and is an entertaining read.

Well-written goodness! What a great group of characters the author has taken the time to develop them in such a way that makes a good book great. What I like the most about her books is that they are so engaging I find it is so easy to lose track of time when reading. This piece is a mystery who is blackmailing Loren’s family how much danger is she and the sheriff really in? Will Edison be her port in the storm? I loved the titled of this piece a few words that are so telling. I am happy to recommend this book and highly recommend it.
This book was the first disappointment I have ever read written by Grace Clemens. It was slow beginning and picked up with the excitement of the miners, Loren McCarthy & Sheriff Edison Haynes. The kidnappings kept me turning pages praying Sheriff Edison would locate the three women kidnapped well & the kidnappers put in jail. The story got off on a rabbit trail looking for Loren’s mom who had not been kidnapped but was on a personal stupid mission. I was generous giving 4 stars. No mention of a sequel. Sorry Grace I usually love your books.
I enjoyed this book very much. I thought it was a very good storyline. There were a lot of twists and turns with a little bit of drama. The characters in the story were very well developed. The main characters are Loren and Edison the Sheriff of Bridgestone, Arizona, and Loren’s Mother Aubrey and Father Hank. There is a lot of drama between Loren’s Mother and Father. There is a lot Loren doesn’t know about her Mother and Father much to her surprise. All works out in the end. There is no profanity. It is a very nice read.
There is so much to this story and it is well written and so good. You have excitement, emotions, suspense, twists and turns and even some surprises. The characters flow so smoothly in this story. She needs his help besides her feelings for him. He has feelings for her and wants to help. Things don't always go as you think in this. I recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Her Port in the Storm An Inspirational Historical Romance Book
Grace has done it again written another good inspirational story about love and family and friends and forgiveness Loren fell for Edison and he was the sheriff and they worked together to solve the mystery of the letters her mother was getting in the mail The characters are very charming and emotional and the plot a good one A very wonderful read
To me, I had a hard time relating to this story. I felt like the author was a novice. I kept reading thinking it would all come to a good conclusion. For me, it didnt. The kidnappings remained unexplained for one thing. Unrealistic that under such duress, including a gunshot, that this group would go to a restaurant and discuss their differences over a meal. Disappointed.
My jaw dropped when the ball dropped to reveal every single thing! It was shocking and downright...intriguing. With the risk of revealing too much, I would simply say that it’s an amazing story that goes beyond the blurb. You’ll be surprised too if you read it.
I love Grace Clemens books and this one was no exception. Her characters are realistic and the female ones take part instead of standing back and wringing their hands. This book has a handsome sheriff, kidnappings, unhappy miners, threatening letters, romance and humor. You keep reading to solve the mystery.
Great story, great story line ,a mother's secret, a daughter growing up thinking her father is dead ,a sheriff dealing with kidnappings And murders, helps her discover the truth. I was disappointed that the epilouge page couldn't be down loaded 😕 Thank you ❤
This was a good story, but had several places where it appears the author forgot what she had written earlier, ie, earlier stating that the bodies of two of the women had been found, then later near the end they are found in a barn. Then, near the end, it was very confusing, like the story was rushed to end, with the kidnapping never being explained/solved.
A very enjoyable story. The variety of characters added a special touch to it. Too bad we were left in the dark regarding the kidnappers. The author definitely captured my attention early in the story. I admire an author who can give us a story that is clean. Sit back and enjoy the story.
Nice clean story. I enjoyed the relationship between the sheriff and Lori. Glad she was reunited with her Father. Sad that they didn't know each other as she grew up. Happy he changed for the good.
Was challenging to see Lori's childish tendencies but she did mature some in the end. Finding her life was somewhat based on a lie, she and the Sheriff persevered in finding the truth.
Loren had always believed that he father had died. That's what her mother had told her. So when she discovered the threatening letters, she took them to sheriff, Edison.
This was a good book. Easy reading and the main characters were very likeable. I was able to read it in one sitting. I enjoy good clean Christian story. Thank you!
I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a romantic tale. Set at the turn of the century (1899) in the Arizona territory. The sheriff and the school teacher fall in love, their story.

I would have given you 5 stars but you left me hanging. You left the kidnapping still a mystery. You did not solve who wss doing it. You left the three murders unsolved.
Edison is the sheriff in Bridgestone, Arizona. Loren lives with her mother there. Her mother told her that her father died when she was very young. 3 women have vanished from town, then Loren’s mother disappears after receiving threatening letters.
After reading the book “Love amid Peril on the Oregon Trail”, I was looking forward to another of her books. This one however lacked substance during the first half of the book, was drawn out and left a plot unsolved. Sorry, but I just kept reading to get it over with.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book but I am disappointed that I could not download the extended epilogue. I would have liked to have read if her parents got back together again.
