I feel so sorry for whistleblowers.
Their compulsion to tell the truth comes with grave consequences. No one escapes unscathed. Some pay with their lives.

The cross section of whistleblowers, past and present, of different political and economic standing, colour and creed are all diverse in their truth telling journey. This book makes the stress they experience so real.
My reaction to the heart wrenching insight into their lives, is that they need more support, at many levels.

All of the strides that South Africa has made in rooting out corruption, starts with a whistleblower.
Next, the journalists and authors like Mandy research and write, exposing all the details.
Finally the arrests and prosecutions happen.
And this is when the whistleblowers are eventually vindicated.

I hope “John” and “Stan” eventually get the accolades they deserve for the Gupta Leaks.
I hope that they can return to South Africa 🇿🇦 some day.
