Christine Marion Fraser was one of Scotland's best-selling authors, outselling even Catherine Cookson. She published 22 books in 18 years and was the author of the much-loved Rhanna series. Her formative years were spent in the post-war Govan district of Glasgow and went on to become a beacon of Scottish publishing. Christine spent her later life in Argyll with her husband and family.
My memories of this story are of the touching care that the characters have for each other as they battle some of the hard realities of life. Hope, love and disappointment hover in the balance. Some tough themes are explored through the text.
i really loved how the cancer was kind of an side story and the headlines were really kirsty and jean and the magical time they had at Sanda and it makes me want to see the rainbow :)
