I must say I am really impressed; there are things happening in this volume that were set up several volumes before. Most manga series never see a volume 16, let alone a 25! Toru Fujisawa must have incredible planning ability plus the self-confidence of the Great Teacher Onizuka.

In this volume of GTO, the comedy and wit are balanced to an even score. The series only continues to exceed my expectations and leave me wanting more.

This volume was more about the girls than anyone else, even Onizuka had little appearing in it. It starts with Miyabe leaving her house because they were becoming more of a phony family everyday.
Then it goes into the relationship between Tomoko and Miyabe with the late sleeping on the other one's apartment. Then the arc depict the story of Urumi and her struggle with her mum and how she never recognized her disappearance. The volume ends with two chapters depicting the fight between the two, where Miyabe spilling the beans about the real story of the birth of Urumi and the late going berserk about it.

Funniest Series EVER! My absolute favorite!! This volume and the next are all about the relationship between Urumi and Miyabi and their respective parents. The beginning is Onizuka still trying to chase down and maim Mayu, but he fails utterly and it's hilarious. Uchiyamada finds his life is falling apart which is amusing. Especially the part about his daughter looking like the meat delivery man's daughter. lol Onizuka's no flushing violation in Urumi's ma's house was omg so disgustingly hilarious. Also featured is the Urumi/Onizuka romance which was so sweet, albeit brief.

Read this series first back in adolescence, and as I go through the same books this present day I find how resonant some themes that the author touches upon remain. Surely at face value the series might come across as silly or over the top; but it is in fact deeply rooted in everyday themes, troubles, vulnerabilities, passions among other threads. A real depiction of human connection as a manga can get.
