Продолжение арки про инфантильного глупого прогульщика. Опять разводы и детские слёзы, на которые ведётся главный герой; школьничья филасафия про плохих взрослых и несправедливо обделённых детишек; грязные приёмы от школьников и прочая чушь;

I loved the whole thing with Onizuka fighting a whole punch of students, yet I felt that Myieu is more like Kanzaki in many ways. A kind of repetition of character in away.

Mayu arc got better, but still pretty weak compared to the rest so far. Great series though.

In this intense volume of GTO, our hero holds his own against the bastard Maho, in perhaps one of the most important lessons yet. If only the anime would have covered this far.

Funniest Series EVER! My absolute favorite!! Another crazy volume. Especially the 100 men to one arm wrestling match at the end. haha lol I liked it, but when I read it both times I thought,"Isn't it a little late in the series for such extreme super-human antics?" I don't know. Maybe it's not. It was funny after all. Maybe my problem was just attached to my thoughts on Mayu. I think Mayu was over-hyped. I expected much more trouble from him and in the end, he was one of the most easily won over hooligans. I think the idea of this character was a good one; the clever, but lonely, truant party-boy. It has potential, but I think it should have been built upon more. Unfortunately, Mayu ended up feeling like a pretty flat character. I think maybe there could have been some flash-backs for insight into his past or maybe he could have been talked about in the next volume. Instead, he's just kind of there.

Read this series first back in adolescence, and as I go through the same books this present day I find how resonant some themes that the author touches upon remain. Surely at face value the series might come across as silly or over the top; but it is in fact deeply rooted in everyday themes, troubles, vulnerabilities, passions among other threads. A real depiction of human connection as a manga can get.
