Ruby Cole has spent her entire life in Parks, Texas. Most of it behind the counter of the local diner she inherited from her late grandparents. A staple in Parks, most people stop in Sloppy’s Diner for a bite to eat and great conversation. But despite her love for the diner and the locals, Ruby debates if she should sell it and try her hand at something new. She also longs for a relationship that goes beyond just fulfilling a drink order.
Lawrence Hastings loves eating at Sloppy’s. Not only does it require a trip into town and away from the ranch, but it’s also his chance to see his lifelong friend, Ruby. His last few trips to the diner, however, bring him face to face with the new veterinarian technician who has his eyes set upon wooing Ruby, and Lawrence isn’t quite sure how he feels about that.
Can Ruby view Lawrence as more than a friend?
Can Lawrence show Ruby that their friendship can lead to love?
I sat here for about five minutes trying to think of something prolific to write, and all I came up with was that first sentence. However, despite it being simple and understated, it's a genuine response. I appreciate all who read and listen to my books. And for those who rate and review it, a special thanks to you. Happy Reading! Katharine

Lawrence: The Brothers of Hastings Ranch Series Book 4 is by Katherine E. Hamilton. The seven brothers live and work on The Hastings Ranch. It was left to them at a young age when their parents both died. And Graham took over to keep the ranch running and viable. Lawrence is the protector in the family. He watches out for all of them and also keeps an eye on Ruby Cole who owns Sloppy’s Restaurant in Parks, Texas. Ruby was born and raised in Parks with her grandparents working at Sloppy’s and when they died, they left it to her. She was known as Sloppy because she was never neat as a child. However, she is considering selling out and moving away to get a fresh start to her life. Then the new vet comes to town and begins to flirt with her. When Lawrence sees them together, his protective persona begins to emerge. He finally figures out his feelings for Ruby.
I just loved this story. The Hasting brothers each share a ranch. They work hard and each one of them are finding the loves of their lives. Lawrence has been best friends since first grade. He didn’t take her to junior prom but he did dance every dance with her. This is such a Fun story of both of them discovering their deep and true love for each other. Enjoy the journey.
Great story of lifelong friendships and how important they are in our lives. Like all the characters in this short book. Great story line of how friendship can turn into something more with time and circumstances in life. Great read and plan to read more of this writer.
A story of 2 friends who decide they like their friend more than just friendship. He protects her from a bully @ her diner. The guy she'd dated just stood there. The brothers & their partners create humor & variety.
Lawrence has known Ruby all her life. He has always taken care of her but is this love? Ruby is looking for the right guy, is that Jimmy? Will read the book and find out. Enjoy
My favorite so far...I love Ruby and the fact that law was selling tho stand up for her even when pussy boy was not willing to, and I love the puppies and all of them being named after country singers
