The mafia capo's handpicked foster son... When my parents were killed by a rival network's hitter, the capo took me in and treated me as his own son. But what if all I want is to be a regular boy having fun?
"Bully Crush Blues" is a Last Chances Academy short story that gives you a sneak peek at Kyle/Kingsley's life before the events of, "Hot Roommate Blues," the first novel in a new series set in an elite academy for bad boys where gay romance flourishes.
This 6,000-word short story is a "sweet" gay bully crush story that does include some rough language but no "steam." The focus is on the "feels" that come with a first crush.
Surprised by a crew of seven big senior football players during a late night swim inside the boys Catholic high school near where he was being home schooled, defiance was futile.
Where was security when you needed them? Dressed only in a designer swimsuit and security badge, the options were run or drown.
The run got him outside, but the players were faster. Bring tackled and crushed by Eli before the pile on buried him below the group made him glad he had managed to land on his back. The close encounter with his new bully crush was different, but interesting. And just as it got interesting, here comes security flashlight and there goes the players with his shorts. Lying naked on the grass in the dark is probably not the best way to end the day....
This was a short quick read that was more of an introduction to a new series. When his parents are killed Kyle/Kingsley's is taken in and adopted by the capo. Turns out Kyle is a hacker. This was a good start to a new series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading this series.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy so much a short story, because I usually don't. I discovered both this title and the author because it's now free at Amazon and decided to give it a go. Since it is a precuel to the first book of the series (not out until January), I thought it was a good way to see if I could like the series. And it seems like I was right.
We meet Kyle (who will be called Kingsley in book 1), a 16yo kid who will be adopted by a mafia capo after having his parents killed three years before. This short story's focus is for us to meet him and his hacking skills.
There's not much going, but we get to read about his first crush, a bully senior with whom he goes out in a no-date. It's a pity their no-romance ends before even starting, I would have loved to know more about Eli, but I can't wait to know Stryker in the next book.
You can't read this short story expecting a deep plot, becaise this works as an introduction. A sneak peek on what the upcoming series will be. I probably wouldn't pay money for it, but since at least for now it's free... If you feel intrigued I would recommend to download it and try for yourselves :)
I will be counting the days until the first book is released, I can't wait to discover what happens to Kyle after this.
What I’m trying to figure out... since I’ve already read the hot roommate blues. Before I read this one. Is that where did Kyle go from the age of sixteen to seventeen. Like I know he popped up at the the college where Stryker was at, at age 18. But is he really eighteen? That’s the thing I don’t know. But he did say he was eighteen in that book.
But I’m so lost on that. But I wonder if he’ll ever see his crush again. That’ll be curious and will he also see his step- foster father again too in the next book to the serious.
If it wasn’t for him sneaking out that night to see Eli they would’ve taken him away too. Doubt he would’ve gotten locked up. Hopefully not- but maybe he would’ve been on Foster care or something.
But who would know. But I can’t wait to read the hot mafia blues next because I already read the hot roommate blues..
Because I’m sooo curious to what will happen next...
This was sweet, funny, had an interesting setting, and then BAM, big cliffhanger ending. I really do want to read the next book now though. It was pretty darn cute for a story about the mafia.
