Just when incarceration couldn’t get any worse. Enter a mad doctor with a penchant for pain…

Trouble Garcia finally knows the truth. With her memories unlocked, she knows she’s not a dragon. She’s much rarer and even more dangerous. And exotic enough to draw the interest of psychotic Doctor Bloom.

Now that she’s no longer an illegal dragon, Blacktower’s Warden will cut Trouble’s sentence in half—but only if she submits to Bloom’s medical testing.

Even with protective dragon Clairmont, snarky mage Adonis, devoted firefox Azariah, and sweet shifter Jasiel taking care of her, the trials could break Trouble long before she tastes freedom.

And not even wicked Ravenmaster will be able to save her.

Trouble's story just keeps getting even more troublesome. Finding out her true nature seems to put her in an even more dangerous situation than she was when everyone thought she was a dragon. It has brought more attention to her and not in a good way. However, as more mates are revealed, the issues and harm to Trouble seem to bring them all together as one solid unit, for the time being at least. The newest mate was a bit of a surprise, but little hints were given in the previous book if you were paying attention well enough. I think he will be a strong addition to the group even if he doesn't seem to be at the current moment. The group of guys together is a force to be reckoned with, each with his own unique and powerful ability and an insurmountable and soul deep connection with Trouble, one that cannot be stopped for anything. This is proven at the end of the book where we reach that detrimental cliffhanger. The ending of this book was so packed full of action, emotion, anger, pain, and determination. I have a feeling that the plans that the evil doctor had for Trouble are going to backfire without her seeing it coming, cocky as she is. She wanted to find the source of Trouble's fire, but she might have unleashed something even greater while she was scrounging around where she shouldn't have been. With possible new powers being activated, new enemies are also coming out of the woodwork, and I have a feeling that Trouble and her mates are in for one heck of an escape and battle ahead. Harmony is just the tip of the iceberg, although I'm dying to see what Trouble comes up with in retaliation every single pain that Harmony has brought to her and her mate. When she screams and takes her last breath, will it be harmonious, music to Trouble's ears?

We are once again back with Trouble and the gang.

Now that Trouble has remembered her identity and that she is a Phoenix and not an illegal dragon, things are looking up, right?

The warden has given her an option, be experimented on by Dr Bloom to find out what measures they can do to ensure that her fire doesn't burn the place down and get 12 years in the prison or stay for the next 25 years in the prison. Trouble jumps at the opportunity, thinking that those thirteen years off her sentence will be worth it.

Dr bloom is a piece of work, she's so evil and gets off on the torture she inflicts on Trouble.

Trouble continues to learn about herself and her past. And the fact that she has five mates doesn't hurt either. We've met Az, Adonis (aka Jules), Claremont and Jaisel. We learn in this that Ravenmaster is also her mate (I am not surprised ngl) and that she has helped hatch Ravenmasters egg (aka Zola his daughter).

To be totally honest with you guys, I found the plot rather predictable but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. I just didn't get that shock factor that the author was going for. I really enjoyed the characters in this and the plot was solid. I've read enough RH paranormal romances to know what's gonna happen, the FMC meets mates, finds out she's powerful or God touched in some way, dies and then is reborn even stronger. Which does happen here (well the reborn part didn't but there's two more books so I assume she ain't dead dead)

The smut is okay, isn't amazing and I ended up skimming most of it, it was just a bit basic and very much telling rather than showing.

Overall I enjoyed the book and the characters, it's a solid three stars from me so I'll be continuing on the series.

Tower of Sparks

OMG There are some characters you think are bad but damn......I truly hate Dr Bloom. A sadistic bitch akin to the so called doctors from Nazi Germany. I'm sure that's probably where the idea for this character originated. Then there's Harmony a torturous whiney bitch who cause she was passed over for basically being evil has to destroy everyone's spirit. I look forward to both receiving their comeuppance as the story continues.

In short I'm loving the continuing story and binge reading like nobodies business....I can't stop myself. I need to know what's going on!!

3.5 star review **

Still enjoyable, this sequel felt a bit shaky to me. The Ravenmaster as a character feels a bit unbalanced - he's interesting, but lacks the magnetism the others are giving. As he is such a large character of the series, it leaves the book feeling a bit stop-and-start.
The pacing took a hit, as well. With the steady amount of torture/experiments in this sequel, we have missing time that isn't really acknowledged or missed. The brevity of the book is due to the length, but as a series it serves itself okay.

Definitely still a series with a solid premise, I'm looking forward to continuing.

Book 2 didn't disappoint. Trouble is back and with her memories restored we know what she is. With that knowledge she catches the eye of the warden and the crazy Dr. She has the opportunity to reduce her sentence now that she isn't a dragon, but at what cost?  Trouble has Az, Clairmont, Jase and Jules (though absent at times) with her and she realizes who another one of her mates is, and she isn't very happy about it. I am looking forward to the next installment to see what happens. This book has a cliffhanger that definitely leaves you wanting to know what is next.

What have you gotten youself into trouble

After the revelation from the end of the last book...trouble now has her memoires back. Though that may be bittersweet with all she has to deal with.
Trouble makes a decision that not only affects her bit everyone around her. It may cost more than the benefits it offers.

Trouble bonds more with her mates and discovers some new possible additions as well. We also get to learn about what landed her mates and friends in jail. The ending 😱 wasn't expecting that. I can't wait to see what trouble does next

I have conflicted feelings about this book. Overall it did a good job continuing the storyline and we got to learn more about the some of the main characters. Unfortunately I’m uncomfortable with one of the FMC’s mates and the story did take a dramatic turn. The torture went further than I expected and I wanted to cry & scream at times. Ultimately I did give it five stars because the book is well written and the reservations I have are of a personal nature. I strongly recommend to read the trigger warnings.

Damn it to hell with that cliffhanger ending!!!! Now im gonna be on tenterhooks waiting for the next book. Still this one was so good. I cant big it up enough really. Trouble (FMC) is given a too good to be true deal (quite literally!) and taking it is a lot more dangerous than she could ever imagine though. New enemies as well as new allies and an unlikely alliance. Birth, death and plenty of steam this book has it all. Its a cracking read and im loving reading it so much

This second book did not disappoint! Trouble is back and we finally know what she is and why she's sent to Blacktower prison. There's so many revelations, both for trouble and her mates that I was so drawn into this story needing more. There's never a dull moment in this second book and that ending... WTH! Leigh Kelsey has given us an addictive and hot story that you'll love right from the start. It's so good and so well written. Prison fantasy at its finest!

I really really enjoyed this book from the minute that I started reading. It moved along at the perfect reading speed being not too fast nor too slow, has amazing characters and a story that does not let you down. This book will take you away to a different world one in which you can escape your everyday reality. This book needs to be on your TBR for 2020, no doubt about it.

We find out a little ore about other characters in this book as well as Trouble. I wasn’t expecting the fourth mate to be who it was, but it does make sense. I can’t stand Dr Bloom and what she did to Trouble so I can’t wait to see what revenge they come up with for that. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Tower of Sparks, the second book in the Blacktower Prison series, is an ebook I downloaded from Kindle Unlimited. I recommend reading the series in order. This story was pretty gruesome, featuring excessive torture, so readers with triggers beware. Some really great reveals kept my interest, so I immediately downloaded the next book.

Good

So it's good. There are some parts I'm not too happy about. I am able to overlook that, in hopes that something good will finally be happy. I'm going to read the next book. Not sure if it's because of I'm liking the story or just too stubborn not to finish ot. I hope it will all be worth it.

riot

Gotta be one of the best series I’ve read this year alone and it’s still on par with some of Leigh Kelsey’s other amazing work too. This woman has talent. Not even finished yet and I’m hooked. Absolutely a work of art this series. Amazing. Binge worthy to its finest that’s for sure.

Better and better

Trouble is one awesome woman. These books just keep getting better and better. It is so hard to know you’re at the end and you have to go to the next one. But now you have to wait for the next one - that is even harder.

Surprises abound

We're learning all sorts of new information about the main characters in this book. This may have ended on a cliffhanger, but I'm also hoping that the author doesn't plan on (permanently) killing off a main character!

Shocking cliffhanger!!! 🤯😩🙈
WTH!!!... This book is so f'ing intense!!!... Between Trouble remembering who she really is and all the events that led her to prison, solidifying her bond with her mates (even finding about a new one, she isn't thrilled about) and that unfair deal she made with the Warden, this book had me on edge, biting my nails, horrified at all she had to endure and then... damn cliffhanger!!! 💔😭
I need the next book stat, need to know what will happen next!!! 😱😰
