This flash fiction short story SNACKERS was created for New York Times bestselling author, Anne Frasier’s Facebook Quarantine Flash event. Participants were invited to create fiction, poetry or artwork during a one-hour limit that would begin with a prompt. The participants were completely unaware of the theme that would be presented. The 60-minute challenge began the moment Anne Frasier posted the prompt PRESS TO RETURN TO REAL LIFE. Snackers is one of dozens of entries that were posted to her Facebook event page. Pat is the award-wining author of the coloring book for reluctant adults Kill Me! My Husband’s Retired. Her short story collection Hotdish to Die For features six culinary mystery short stories where the weapon of choice is often hotdish, and 18 recipes. SNACKERS was written entirely during that one hour and is one of the few creative endeavors I have been able to finish during the pandemic. And except for a typo or two that has been corrected, the story is what I was able to create within that hour time limit.
