I’m damaged. I’ve been through too much in my eighteen years. Between joining the Bloody Psychos and mourning my best friend, I’m going a little crazy.
If the enemy is no longer the enemy, you can jump in bed with them, right? You’d think I’d be happy with five guys in my life, but I can’t control myself. What can I say? Bad boys are my weakness.
The Bloody Psychos and the Devil’s Armada have my back, but now I need to have theirs. Sacrifices must be made to keep them safe, and I’ll do anything. Even sell my soul to a monster.
The only person I’ll be able to rely on is myself. Deceiving everyone I love is the only way this can go. I just wish they’d let me go without a fight.
I’m going downhill fast, and no one can save me. In destroying everyone around me, I’ll destroy myself too. Nothing can compare to the emotional pain of hurting the ones you love.
This can only end bloody. I just never expected the one holding the gun would be my guardian angel.
*Beautiful Deceit is a 72k word dark romance reverse harem novel. This is the third book in the series and it must be read in order. The first four books are Rory's, and the harem grows over those books, so other guys will be added as the story goes. The series contains dark content such as abuse and rape. It also has slow burn m/m scenes throughout. If you are triggered by sensitive content or cursing, this series is not for you.
R.E. Bond is a dark romance author from Tasmania, Australia. She is obsessed with reverse harem books, especially if they have m/m! She collects paperbacks as a hobby, has read or written every day since she started high school, and constantly needs music in her daily life. She loves camping and rodeos in the summer, and not getting out of bed in the winter. Coffee and books are life, and curse words are just sentence enhancers.
This series started out with so much promise and then it took a serious nose-dive. I just can't with Rory. The author is dreaming if she thinks that someone who behaves and does what Rory does would be considered attractive by 1 man, let alone 8. I mean, damn, every guy she comes across is just giving up the pussy so they can be part of her harem. What a joke!
She's abusive, a liar, manipulative, immature and narcissistic. And unrepentant with it too. Every time she f***s someone outside their group, they're just like, "Meh, let her be. She doesn't like to be controlled." It's not controlling to create boundaries for a relationship. It's not controlling to object when your gf is doing something that will invariably harm either herself or others because she's bent on self-destructing. I hated her. She was toxic asf.

Oh gosh! so slash is back... I fucking knew it, even though it was somehow predictable. And that last moment heroic entry😘. I love this guy what he has in this story and I was seriously missing his sass with Rory. Skeeter was just being himself, and others too. I'M GLAD HE IS BACK. I WAS MISSING HIM SO MUCH IN THIS STORY.
My whole heart is screaming now.. 🤭

I love the universe Rachel made in this series. I wanted to hate some of the guys because i feel like it’s impossible to genuinely love all of them but i just can’t. I don’t even know how many there are at this point but i fucking love them all.
And Rory. I love her character so much. For all she’s been through and suffered, she has a huge heart and loves fiercely. Anyone who calls her a whore can shove their face in a toilet full of shit. Some victims of rape experience hyper sexuality. and honestly, even if she’s just making her way through the line up of available men in her life.. so what. don’t double standard this. I really can’t wait for her to fully face her trauma though. This series could seriously be amazing for recovery and redemption.
Oh, and Christmas came fucking early this year. I don’t remember the last time something in a book made me so fucking happy and excited. LEGIT BURSTING WITH GLEE Y’ALL. Twisted Fate destroyed me. But Beautiful Deceit? HFS my heart is currently exploding. I can’t wait for Ignite Me 😍😭
"Beautiful Deceit" is the third book of the "Watch Me Burn" series by the author R.E. Bond. Told in dual perspectives , get ready to meet these psychos again!!
After the ending of the second book , I knew that this one was gonna be explosive!! And the author did not disappoint! I was hooked right from the start and couldn't let go of the book no matter how much I wanted. The ending was everything I expected and wanted. These characters are just so amazing that I can't even tell you guys! They are definitely gonna stay with me for a long time. An amazing blend of hotness and mystery , this author has once again managed to strike me speechless with her amazing writing skills!
A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there who would love themes like RH , suspense , kick-ass Heroine and Second chances!
This book was definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotions and I loved it. Plot, emotions, all there.
My biggest issue with book 2 was with the FMC, Rory. I think she really grew up between the two books, still herself but more mature. Still drama of course but not the ridiculously childish amount that was in book 2. Thank goodness for that.
There were more conflicts, both within the group and outside groups that kept you interested in the story. The evolutions and dynamics of the relationships are always changing too to keep it interesting.
There was a big reveal at the end of the book that made my heart so happy. Just so happy. Can’t wait for the conclusion of this story.
This series is addicting and I can't wait for the fourth instalment. If you love stabby stabby and author who has no boundaries . This is the series for you. It takes everything I love about dark romance and puts into a crazy Reverse Harem. Aurora is my kind of girl. Take them and destroy them .....
Reading Order Pretty Lies Twisted Fate Beautiful Deceit Fourth book comes out this MARCH and I need it
This book is on fire. Rory has turned everyone's world into chaos. She is so headstrong that she would rather sacrifice herself than endanger the people she loves. This book really showed how sometimes doing the right thing in the wrong way can have big consequences. I have to say that Diesel is now my favorite character in this series! All her guys could make any girl hot under the hood, but Diesel, Hunter, and Marco just left me speechless. I highly recommend this dark romance!!
Okay so this is going to be a slightly different style review than what I normally do, but my final review-ratings are still at the end.
This book (up until 63% of completion) is infuriating...it's literally nonstop Rory making dumb decisions, getting angry at the guys, running away, etc. Typical Rory tantrums and stuff. Then when it finally gets good (again, around 63%) I'm balling my eyes out and so happy that the story finally started going somewhere. But nope, we're dumped right back into the Rory nonsense with her arguing, throwing punches, acting all tough and bull-ish. She's legit gone crazy.
Then, another crazy event happens ( Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling that I know what's coming, bc the author has hinted/foreshadowed a few things, and I know those are going to make me cry too. But if Rory doesn't get her sh*t together, I may lose mine!
Sooooo....still the same old nonsense and Rory getting herself into poor situations up until 97% when one of the things I expected to happen finally did. Unfortunately it didn't really go anywhere because it was close to the end of the book. Book 4 better redeem itself because if we end it on the note that I'm feeling right now I'm going to be thoroughly upset that this series was ruined. Book 3 was a complete toss. Unnecessary!
--Rating - 2 stars - complete nonsense --Steam - 3 stars - I'm so angry about how poorly book3 was handled that I don't even really remember any of the 'steamy' moments. Honestly though, there weren't many. --Storyline - 2 stars - lame. It's literally an entire book of Rory getting hurt and making bad decisions. --Plot Twists - 2 stars - hmmm nothing really surprising happened...even the last thing that SHOULD have been surprising wasn't because it was foreshadowed heavily and obvious. --Emotional Pull - 3 stars - I teared up every time we rehashed what happened in book 2. So prepare for that. --Writing - 3 stars - it was comfortable to read, just poor planning --Denouement - I'm not even bothering bc .... book 4 --Cliffhanger? - yes --HEA? - no/yes
Where do I even begin? I’ve been patiently (ok, IMpatiently) waiting for the ARC for Beautiful Deceit because THAT TWISTED FATE CLIFFHANGER! But let me tell you, I was not prepared for this book. The heartbreak just kept right on going until the end. I felt like my heart was getting ripped out of my chest for most of the book and then I was smacked with one of the most brutal cliffhangers that I’ve read (where I had to wait for the the next book to be released and couldn’t dive in immediately) to date! I’m still not recovered from it yet. And I’m not sure I’ll be able to recover until I get my hands on Ignite Me, book 4 of the Watch Me Burn series, and the final installment in Rory’s story.
As with the previous books, this is told in multiple POVs. You get just enough of a peak into the guy’s thoughts to partially understand their motivation for what they do, but never too much. It’s still primarily Rory’s story.
Beautiful Deceit starts off a few months after Twisted Fate ends and gets right down to business. As you would expect from Rory, her life is never simple. And she continues to make it even more complicated by adding to her harem. Some of her choices are accepted by the others, while others aren’t.
Rory and her men are still dealing with the threat of the Soldiers while also trying to heal from Slash’s death. Rory continues to be an independent, badass woman while trying to keep all her very alpha men happy, which isn’t an easy task. Despite not officially being in a relationship with them anymore, she still loves them and values their friendships. Within the group, Jensen and Lukas are trying to navigate the new possible dynamics of their relationship along with the complications it creates. Beautiful Deceit is so action packed; the book starts and doesn’t stop until the dreaded “to be continued” at the end.
I’m so excited for Ignite Me because I’m obsessed with this world and can’t wait to see what consequences the final scene in Beautiful Deceit will have in the next book.
Hell yeah baby, this series get´s better and better. I feel like this is a normal path for me, for example i hated the first book in Drop out by j bree but when i had finished all books that series become one of my fave series. Same with Queens of Quarantine by Susanne Valenti & Caroline Peckham , first book i hated and gradually i started to fucking love it. I have a feeling i will love it when the last book is released. I hope Rory´s guys will end with Tyler, Jensen, Lukas, Caden, Skeeter, Diesel, Hunter and Slash (and Marco maybe) Still everything is kind of chaos so i have no clue what the end game will be. I only know that i am thankful that i waited long enough to read this that i don´t have to wait that long for the fourth and last book in Roary´s series. Her series end with the fourth book and after that i am guessing that the next books will be about Jade Winters. That fucking ending killed meeeeeee, omg yaaas Slash is back in fucking town! I hated when Roary had to broke everyones heart again to protect the guys from the soldiers, i know she do everything for em but i also feel for the guys. They are still standing strong by Roary even after everything, like she is so up and down all the time running around crazy that´s some real ass love there. I hope they will sort everything out between them all and kick or kill the soldiers asssssessss

The universe that Rachel has created in this series is utterly enchanting. With vivid descriptions and intricate details, she has crafted a world that feels both familiar and otherworldly. Despite my initial reservations, I found myself unable to resist falling in love with each and every character. Even those who may seem unlikable at first reveal layers of complexity and depth that make them impossible to dislike. And Rory, the protagonist of the story, is truly a remarkable character. Her strength and resilience in the face of unimaginable trauma is both inspiring and heartbreaking. She wears her scars like badges of honor, refusing to let anyone diminish her worth or label her as anything less than extraordinary. And while some may judge her for exploring her sexuality and pursuing multiple romantic relationships, let's not apply unfair double standards here. Rory is unapologetically herself, owning her desires and living life on her own terms. But beneath her confident exterior lies a deep-seated pain and turmoil that I hope will be fully explored and confronted in future installments of the series. This story has the potential to be a powerful message of empowerment and healing for those on a journey towards recovery and redemption. Beautiful Deceit, left me emotionally exhausted yet filled with joy and excitement for what's to come. With twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat, this book was truly an emotional rollercoaster.

Beautiful Deceit by R.E. Bond is a dark romance reverse harem novel. This is the third book in the Watch Me Burn Series.
The book does come with a warning "The series contains dark content such as abuse and rape. It also has slow burn m/m scenes throughout. If you are triggered by sensitive content or cursing, this series is not for you."
Rachael just keeps knocking her debut series out of the park. I couldn't put the book down! This book took me on an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to get off. I am not going to lie there were a few times I wanted to reach out and smack Rory for being so stubborn.
I loved that you get Rory, Tyler, Jensen, Lukas, Caden, Skeeter, Diesel, Hunter and Marco's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger! I can't wait for the next book in the series Ignite Me to be released so I can get more Rory and her men!
We’re back with Rory and her men for the third instalment of this series, you definitely need to read book one to follow the story line. Just like the other two books there’s trigger warnings of rape and abuse..
I swear each book Rach writes she keeps on getting better and better, If you love dark, steamy, RH this book is for you!
I couldn’t wait for this book after the cliffy ending in book two and this book did not disappoint, I devoured this book in a few short hours I couldn’t put it down! My heart broke for Rory so many times throughout this book, this girl has gone through hell and back and still manages to come back swinging. I fell more in love with Caden, Jensen, Lukas, Tyler, Skeet and Hunter, I felt for them too trying to help Rory but dealing with the grief of loosing their best friend, and keep themselves a float..
Rach is becoming the new cliffy Queen with these endings and leaving you wanting more!
This series is so very amazing. Rory is apologetically herself. She does what she wants, breaks when she needs to and is strong and badass when she wants to be. I just love how she deals with all the guys in her life and how she follows her own heart and doesn't let them own her. But she still goes out of her way to be there and support them. So many awesome moments in this book and some sneaky hints all the way through that left us with an amazing surprise at the end. Loved it. Go read Rory now!!!
No way dude!! So I stayed away from spoilers for this series and let's just say like the biggest twist yet had my jaw on the floor.
RE Bond continues to show that she's great at what she's doing and that's writing Dark RH Romance. Gotta love an author that keeps you wanting more with their cliffys instead of being all whiney about them.
The quote that had me shaking my head up and down in agreement: "For someone that's been hurt, you sure can love like you've never been burned." Same...Same.
I really like where this series is going. This book healed me a little and broke me at the same time. I truly loved Rory but I kind of wanted to shake her in this book and tell her to pull her head out of her ass.
I really like how the harem is growing and I also love Luke's and Jense relationship. They are so cute! I’m definitely going to read the next one and I recommend this one. Toodles!
So when a book has everything you want and need… here it is. Mystery. Fighting. Crews. Dark themes. A beautiful backstory. A powerful FMC. Loads of dangerous things happening. A all the chemistry. I loved this book. I shed a few tears.
I seriously can not get over this series. I freaking love every second of it. Rory and all her men. The traumas she’s loved through. She’s a damn survivor and let’s not forget the ending
Okay the ending of this book made it *slightly* less unbearable as the other 2 and I’m not feeling as bitter about continuing on to read the next book now. But I still hated it the whole way through up until the last 25% lol. Mainly ‘cause the personality of the FMC triggers irrational anger
Well ok. . I don’t really know where to begin with this one. I loved the first two books, I was really drawn in and invested and I was really looking forward to this, I read the blurb and I was looking forward to the emotional ride of a lifetime, then I read it and through the first 30-50% and I wanted to stop reading. I’m not saying this was a let down, but I definitely have mixed feelings about the book. . The first half really dragged for me. I’m not sure if it’s the amount of endless smut, but I felt like that’s all there was. I was hoping for more emotional pain coming through in other self destructive ways but all I got was smut and I don’t usually care about that, I’m here for spice any day, but for this one I was hoping to be effected more emotionally and I didn’t get that. . I also thought that hunter and Rory were very quick to reach that point of undying love. I’m here for their chemistry but even for me that was a little face paced. I did however enjoy the growth from some of the characters like Caden for example and Skeet. I love them both and for me would have to be my favourite. Lukas and Jense, I’m loving their angst and slow burn, but their endless and pointless arguments and having Rory constantly have to go make sure lukas is ok got tiresome. I understand with lukas his aversion to not talking about anything deep keeps him from effectively communicating but I thought they would have grown a little since the second book and Jense has, while I feel like Lukas hasn’t. . The plot is great and I’m curious to see where it goes. It’s probably one of the things that really saved this book for me. I loved the little twists that seem small but end up being this huge thing and determines the direction the plot goes and I love how in that aspect it’s unpredictable. I was hoping to be a blubbering mess after this book and I feel unsatisfied that I’m not and like it was very anticlimactic emotionally. However I did like the rest of the book other than the two hang ups and I’m looking forward to seeing more growth in the next book. . This is in no way a bad book, it’s just not how I thought it would be after reading the blurb and the amount of smut in the beginning and how quickly it all goes down really let it down for me. And maybe I need to give it another read to really let it sink in but for now this is my initial thoughts.
Beautiful Deceit is book 3 in the Watch Me Burn series and it will definitely leave you hanging! I'm pretty sure my exact thoughts were WTH, there has to be more!
This book picks up pretty close to where we left off in book 2. Rory deals with a lot of feelings in this book. She's realizing she needs to figure her stuff out before she can give herself to the guys. Sometimes I struggle with Rory and this book brought that out a little more.
The guys, where to even begin lol. We have the original guys who are all struggling with different things while trying to desperately hold on to Rory. They all love her and want her but realize she isn't ready. They want whatever they can get from her even if it isn't much. Skeet is a little more complicated in his feelings. Diesel I love and honestly a part of me wishes he was in the harem and I could do without some of the others. I love his devotion to her as a friend. She needs a friend and he's content to be it. Hunter is hunter. He is struggling with his feelings and what they mean.
This book had a little bit of everything- angst, intrigue, steam, fear, and feels. It leaves you hanging on the edge wondering what the heck happened and where do we go from here. I have so many questions and I can't wait until we get some answers in the next book!
OMG this was one wild and intense ride ! This is a beautifully dark and twisted gut wrenching story. Beautiful Deceit is fast paced action packed and full of steam . This is such an addictive read the plot is so gripping it completely consumes me I’m obsessed with these characters , this is not a sweet romance no it’s a dark bloody hot ,passionate and intense tale so buckle up because your in for one helluva ride ! I need the next book ASAP after that ending it’s a shocker!
Author RE Bond created a world full of complex and carefully put together characters. Each one of her characters are not all bad or all good. They are a mix and some of the most unlovable characters, I find I love so much. The story continues from book two and it’s a nonstop page turner. Each page brings out a set of different emotions from me. I laughed and I cried.. I got angry .. this book has a bit of everything in it. It’s action packed and plenty of steamy scenes.. so much steam.. Rory doesn’t always make the smartest choices.. but she loves with her whole heart. She does a lot of things thinking of her boys... while I don’t care for Hunter much and I definitely don’t like Razor or Marco .. I do like Diesel. Caden and Tyler are still just as delicious as ever.. Skeeter and Slash are still my favorite. I’m also glad that Jensen and Lukas are getting their stuff worked out hopefully anyway .. While this is a dark Rh with mm romance .. it’s also a continuing story. Some people may find triggers but I didn’t have any. I am really looking forward to book four. I just know it’s going to be incredible.
Well slap my ass and call me Sally! This book was a ride! So much happens and very little is what it seems. I think this is my favorite book of the series so far and I was there for every heart pounding second of it.
I wanted to smack Rory more than a time or two, but she has coming into her own growing pains and the aftermath of grief coloring her world view through almost all of this story. So I can give her a bit of latitude for making some piss poor decisions.
Her guys? They’re a bigger mess than she is and that’s saying something. I think only Caden, Diesel, and Hunter have even a modicum of sanity in them and they impressed me the most until Marco. Even though his appearances are brief, they make quite and impact.
That ending!!! I’m so glad this series is finished so I can immediately pick up the next book to see what happens.
Dark Scale rating: 6.5 for internal and external homophobia, drugs and alcohol, graphic violence, gun violence, blackmail, mentions of rape and near rape.
My biggest issue with this book is that it needs a content editor. The characters refer to things that have happened "off screen" that there simply wasn't time for. They also act out of character, or their established patterns of behavior, fairly frequently. Yes, emotional investment can make people miss some pretty obvious conclusions, but that gets taken to an unrealistic extent in this installment, especially in the last few chapters.
For those who get pulled out of a story by proofreading errors, there are quite a few.
The outline of the story is engaging. The FMC is more sympathetic than many of the dark romance type, and the overall trajectory of her relationships does not seem forced. The men, both friends and harem, aren't made into monsters merely for the shock value.
I was not ok after how Twisted Fate ended and then freaking Beautiful Deceit comes in and has me chucking my kindle once I finished it. I’m starting to think it’s Rachael’s goal to make me lose my shit with every ending BECAUSE WHAT THE SHIT WAS THAT ENDING?!?!?!!
I honestly don’t even know how to review BD... I’m just so blown away and in desperate need for Ignite me because I need answers damn it!!!
Marginally better Honestly I didn't like book 1 and hated book2 and vowed I was done after it but I've never not completed a series so I read this and I have to say I'm glad. Finally the glimpses that I liked in book 1 have sparked and the story isn't as all over the place. It still is but this was more enjoyable and less eye rolling. I'll see out the series but can't see me ever want to read this again or recommend it either.
