Winning the Christmas Lottery!

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery, Margo Bond Collins' story in A Very Alien Christmas was a sweet little short in her Alien Bride Lottery series. The Khanavai decided to do a special Christmas Bride games and Lola, a grumpy totally over Christmas mall elf, gets picked as a Bride to compete. Valtin, a sweet, purple, Khanavai warrior who grew up with a best friend who was half human and got to celebrate Christmas every year is over the moon to compete in these special Christmas games and get to experience a real human Christmas, is hoping for a special Christmas gift of a mate. There is steamy chemistry and Christmas magic. We also find out some secrets about the mate selection and how the games will probably be moving forward. Plus a little peek at a warrior we've seen before who's gonna go after his mate he met back on earth. I love this series and this was cute addition.
Even though this was an ARC, I will always shoot you straight.

Now how the hell are you gonna do that to Santa?! That just ain't right! I'll never be able to look at him the same again. 😩😂😂
I couldn't help but laugh and cringe to read Santa say, "Come jingle my bells and sit on my face, my candy cane's about to blow". 😱😱😱

Review for Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery.. one of the stories inside

Lola has had a rough life. She struggled to get through college but has no luck finding a good job. She is stuck with a seasonal job as an elf at Santa's village at the mall. Worse Santa is all hands with this elf. During her work day, everything is interrupted by a special announcement. There will be a special version of the alien bride lottery and special seasonal Bridal games.

Valtin loves to whole idea of the seasonal bridal games. He grew up next a family who had a human bride and she taught him a lot about human traditions. He is very excited to see everything first hand. He is also excited to find out one of the woman is his mate.

This is a good short story about two people who fall in love in just a day but refuse to give each other up.

Just a taste from this one.
Alien Abduction for Beginners - Christmas Assignment
By Skye MacKinnon

A-Vay and A-Ven want a really good score on their final exam. They have chosen the subject for abduction very carefully. He's not your typical human either.

I started laughing on the first page of this book when I realized who they were abducting...

This is a favorite scene and one that I can post without the sizzling and funny heat that ensues.

Santa is more than just human he's special, and well, he has reindeer and his sleigh. They use his sleigh to get him to the ship and let me tell you the 'probing' is both hot and hysterical.

Of course his reindeer wouldn't be left behind no matter what the sisters thought.

This is a hysterical read with sizzling heat that will melt any ice in the vicinity.

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery
Margo Bond Collins

Lola is working at the mall as Santa’s elf and hating every minute of her job, but bills have to be paid. At the end of her shift on Christmas eve and they announce a “special” Alien Bride Lottery. Guess who gets chosen, and Lola disappears into space!

Valtin has been chosen to be one of the males for the Christmas special lottery. He is thrilled because he loves earth’s traditions of Christmas. His best friend’s mother is human and that’s the one holiday she refuses to give up. So off he goes to the games.

As soon as Lola walks in Valtin knows she is his mate. She seems to feel the same way because she is physically drawn to him and trips and falls into his arms. She is pissed off that they can just pluck her from earth and force her to be in the lottery and she is not happy. Turns out this lottery is going to be run differently, with 3 females and 6 males competing for them. Lola starts questioning what happens if she doesn’t want any of the males and soon finds out that not only will she be paired with one of the males, but that it’s probably already predetermined who she will get. She decides to take matters into her own hands and decides that is she is getting stuck with a male, she is picking who. She and Valtin are drawn together immediately and she decides he is the one. The other male, Wex, is rude and obnoxious and she can’t stand him. She finds out that if she and Valtin mate and his “mating” appendage appears, that they are true mates. Once they have mated, no one can separate them. So off they go to find out! And yes they are true mates, and boy are the officials mad because they had paired her off with Wex. Well, at least Lola and Valtin are happy and they got the best Christmas gift of all – each other!

The is a short, but fun Christmas story, written as only Margo can do!!

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery by Margo Bond Collins

You will love this novella which features Lola and Valtin. Lola is surprised to be beamed from her mall job to the Alien Bride set - elf costume and all. It seems Vos has decided to run a Christmas special and see to it that all the protective brides get a mate by providing twice as many alien suitors. But is the whole thing rigged?

Valtin can't believe it when he is chosen to be part of the Christmas Special Bride Lottery. He has had a love of all things Christmas since his half-human best friend and his family had introduced him to the Khanav Prime version when he was a child. He wasn't as concerned with finding a mate as he was about the chance to learn more about human Christmas traditions. He was young and had plenty of time to find a suitable mate. But all bets were off when he got his first scent of Lola. She was his and he meant to ensure he was matched to her.

Lola couldn't believe it when she found herself attracted to a bright purple alien. She immediately wanted to touch him and climb him like a tree (and see if he was grape-flavored!). Now all she had to do was enlist the help of Plofnid and Drindl to make sure she got her man, no matter what plans Vos had for her.

This review is for Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery by Margo Bond Collins
This is a short and sexy sci-fi romance between Lola and Valtin. The author does a great job moving the story quickly and smoothly with her detailed and descriptive writing and paints her scenes perfectly. Her characters are strong with an instant hot chemistry and a fun dialogue. It's well written and is an entertaining read.

There are nine short stories in this anthology, all by different authors, most new to me. I've included the author's blurb for their story but am presently giving my personal review of Margo Bond Collins book, "Christmas in the Alien Bride Lottery." Each of these is short, easy reads and as I finish them, I'll be sure to update the review to include them as well.

1. ALIEN ABDUCTION FOR BEGINNERS: CHRISTMAS ASSIGNMENT
BY SKEY MACKINNON
"Santa is going to stuff their stockings … Sisters A-Vay and A-Ven are close to finishing their course in Alien Abduction at the prestigious Intergalactic University. To stay top of their class, they need to perform the best abduction Earth has never seen. After weeks of monitoring the planet's communications, they've set their eyes on Earth's most famous man, a guy with a white beard and red coat. He may be old but he's ho-ho-hot and his bells still jingle! Now if only the sisters knew what to do about the reindeer in the cargo bay …"

2. CHRISTMAS IN THE ALIEN BRIDE LOTTERY by MARGO BOND COLLINS
A Khanavai Warrior Alien Bride Games Story
"When Lola graduates from college a semester early, she's left without a job or even any real prospects. She takes a holiday position working as a Christmas Elf at the local mall, only to learn to loathe all things Christmas. So when her name is drawn for the Alien Bride Lottery's new "Holiday Special," she's almost relieved. Until she meets Valtin, the Khanavai warrior who has decided to make her his own. He's fascinated with human holiday traditions, especially Christmas. Can a cranky Christmas Elf and an overeager alien male find the magic of the season together?"
Lola has a job playing an elf and helping small children with Santa to give him their requests. She's gotten where she is truly starting to despise Christmas because of this job. Then a special holiday bride lottery is announced and she is one of three women chosen to be a contestant and she's beamed to Station 21. Valtin is a Khanavai warrior and he's been told that he's been selected for the bride lottery as well. Christmas is his favorite Earth holiday and he's looking forward to the games and challenges. When these two see each other, Valtin instantly recognizes Lola as his mate and intends to claim her and while Lola is attracted to Valtin, the show wants her to choose Wes instead. Who gets their Merry Christmas?

3. A KISS ON DELAROU VALDANI by HARPIE ALEXA
"Rena: He caught me in his arms, but then he let me go. I was too afraid to get his name, too afraid to admit the effect he had on me. That was three months ago. Three torturous months going back to the bar Shakaat's and hoping that mysterious hooded alien would be there, but he never shows. But not this time. I refuse to let him evade me any longer. When I see him tonight, he's mine, and I'm never letting go.
Aarvik: That beautiful female steals all my attention, distracting me from my only mission. I've been avoiding her, and not because she doesn't appeal to me. It's because she's too appealing. Tonight, I'm supposed to carry out my mission, my destiny, nothing else matters. The problem? She's here too, and I don't know if I have the strength to stay away."

4. A STARSHIP IN THE EAST by J. A. CUMMINGS
"For Carolyn, a trip home after rehearsals for the annual Christmas pageant takes a strange and intergalactic turn."

5. AN ALIEN FOR CHRISTMAS by MICHELLE MCLOUGHNEY
A Rangg'don Warriors Christmas Story
"Tessa Adkins dread December 25th. Being lonely in London on the holidays sucks jingle balls. She never imagined her life would be so … so … uneventful. Of course, bumping into a giant, green grumpy alien - with Abs to die for - isn't exactly how she imagined Christmas either!"

6. MELTING HER SNOWFLAKE by HELENE NOVAK
A Sirens of Szire Short Story
" 'Melting Her Snowflake' is an FF alien science fantasy romance. This story can be read as a stand-alone, though it is a shortened version of a full novel. The full-length novel version is slated for December 2022, however, if you want to read more about the sirens, the first book in this new series of stand-alone stories will be available in Summer 2021.

7. STARLING WISH by E. J. POWELL
8. THE ALIEN AND THE ELF by TRICIA SCHNEIDER
"My name is Noelle, and I'm an elf. I was minding my own business, testing a newly installed engine on Santa's sleigh when it suffered a slight malfunction, and I found myself spiraling out of control. Then a bright beam of light hits, and I'm taken on board a spaceship. Jaxar is a sexy, to-die-for, green-skinned alien who thinks I'm intruding on his salvage. He's never met an elf. Well, I've never met an alien. With no way to get home, I need Jaxar's help. Can we work together to fix Santa's sleigh in time to save Christmas?"

9. A ZEXIAN X-MAS by LUNA WREN
Featuring Rianne and Xavier
" "It's my first Christmas away from Earth. What do I have to do to bring the holiday spirit to a Zexian warship?"
Rianna met her fated Zexian mate Xavir after a crazy mix up last summer. Since then, she's been living on the Zexian mothership with him and loving every moment of it. She adores her mate more than anything, but Christmas has a special place in her heart. Can she and the other Earthling brides bring some much needed Christmas magic into orbit?"

This collection of alien Christmases gives you a look into various alien worlds. There is quite a variety of aliens and the worlds are all different. I thoroughly enjoyed most of the stories. They were quick reads and some of the stories had a lot of steam and a few were mild. The collection starts out with two sisters who find Santa. It was probably my least favorite of the books. Book two is about the Alien Bride Lottery. I've read all the books in the series and was delighted to read this one too. I'm not sure if it is sold separately or not but I would have bought it if it wasn't included in this collection. From there we move on to "A Kiss on Delarou Valdani" that has human Rena meeting up with AArvik. Both their planets had been destroyed by the same aliens so they have much in common.

"A Starship in the East" has Carolyn explaining Christmas customs to two aliens and whoops, that was their spaceship hovering over the manger and creating the Christmas star. I liked how this one ended. "An Alien for Christmas" has a little twist at the end of it and "Melting Her Snowflake" had the human girl being disowned once she comes out to her parents as being gay. "Starling Wish" has me wanting to find the next book in this series because I want to know more about when Trixie wakes up. When Noelle fails Santa in "The Alien and the Elf," Noelle and her alien will help Santa deliver presents around the world. The collection wraps up with "A Zexian X-Mas as Rianne and the Tribute Brides bring Christmas joy to the spaceship where they are living with their mates. It was a festive way to finish out the collection

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery, by Margo Bond Collins
Khanavai Warriors (Valtin & Lola)

Lola Richards needed to work and had to give in to the Christmas Elf job at a mall. She had nothing against Christmas, but to spend all day having to deal with children for fear of sitting on Santa's lap; pervy dads who tried to see down her tight dress, and so much Christmas decoration everywhere... yes, her Christmas was being a disaster.
But everything could get worse when the news appeared on the mall screen that there would be an extra Alien Bride Lottery, which usually only happened once a year.
And as soon as Lola's name was announced, a bright white light took her to Station 21.

This Lottery's rules would be different. There were three human women for 6 male aliens, who would fight for their attention.
Lola learns that even if she was attracted to an alien, DNA would be the deciding factor.

Valtin was a Khanavai warrior with purple skin who was fascinated by the Christmas human tradition.
His friend, Kern, had a human mother, this was the only tradition she could not give up to celebrate, even living in Khanav Prime.
Valtin was happily going to his friend's house for the Holidays when he knew that he was going to participate in the Bride Lottery, and as soon as he approached the Christmas scene, the smell of his mate attracted him. Now it was a matter of time before he won her.
With another warrior as an opponent, Lola and Valtin would have to be very creative if they wanted to be together this and the next Christmas.

So far, this review is only for Margo Bond Collins’ story, Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery. Voluntarily reviewing a copy from Booksprout.

Also, for Skye McKinnon’s Alien Abduction for Beginners, which was in the preview for the book set.

Christmas Alien Bride Lottery - 5 stars!!

I’ve read the previous two books in the Alien Bride Lottery series; you don’t need to read those to enjoy this short story, and I loved those first books, so I was happy to read this story with human Lola and alien Valtin! Purple alien love and Christmas! I’m so there for it! Lola’s life isn’t going very well for her; she’s working as an elf for Santa at the mall, and will soon be out of a job. When the Khanavai aliens that help protect Earth decide to have a special holiday edition of the Alien Bridal Games, Lola finds herself one of the chosen ones. She is feeling very grinch-y about it, but things are looking up when she sees a hot purple alien. Good chemistry between them, and we get a bit of the sexy times! This is such a fun entertaining series!

Alien Abduction for Beginners - 3 stars

This short story is about A-vey and A-ven, who are twin women aliens, who set out to abduct Santa. This one wasn’t really my style; I’m not into meńage romances; especially fmf. This story was also a bit too silly for me and the sex scenes didn’t work for me. Still some interesting ideas going on in the story, but ultimately this read wasn’t for me.

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery

This story is a another chapter in the Alien Bride Lottery series. Lola Richards is a human female. Working at the mall as Santa's Elf she is selected for the special Christmas Lottery. She arrives in the arena in her Elf costume and looks around. They have set the scene for a Christmas special Lottery. To quote Lola "It looks like Christmas threw up in here." Not at her graceful best due to the space travel, Lola bumps into Valtin Valenox a Khanavi warrior. He loves Christmas due to a human neighbor he had growing up. As soon as they meet, Valtin knows that Lola is his mate. He must win her. With Lola, not so much. Knowing that she will be forced to pick a groom, Lola makes her choice. However the show wants her to be with someone else. To ensure that they end up together, they take matter into their own hands.

This is a highly enjoyable read. I really liked the story and how it was written. The story flows well and it will leave you with a smile on your face.

This was an amazing book and a very quick read and I wished it lasted longer but it was still enjoyable. Lola Richard’s life has been a struggle and working as an Elf at the mall was just a long line in bad jobs but it paid the bills. And the the world stopped and Vos Klavoii appeared on the tv screens to announce that there will be a Christmas bride lottery and Lola new she was going to be picked and then her name was called out and in a blink of an eye she was on station 21. Valtin Valenox loves everything about the earths tradition of Christmas and learned a lot from his friend Kein’s family because his mother was from earth. When his captain called him in and told me I was picked for the Christmas bride lottery I was so excited and couldn’t wait to find my mate and have a Christmas ceremony his captain new this about Valtin and sent him on his way. And at the very first meeting being held Valtin smelled her before he seen her and new his mate had arrived and when she stubbles and he catches her she new the very sexy and hot purple alien was for her, now she had to plan to get him.

Review for "Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery" by Margo Bond Collins:

Sometimes I don't think anthologies are representative of an author's best work, but this story was amazing! It takes place in the same setting as a series of hers and made me totally want to read that series. The story was well written, funny and entertaining. Valtin as the "gentle giant" alien was a highlight, but Lola's sarcastic, confident heroine wasn't far behind. Also I really hope that a couple of the supporting characters are in other books of the series because they were great as well.

Part of an anthology and while I can only speak for this story, if the quality of the others are anywhere near as good it's definitely worth reading. Although this story was set in the same universe as a series of the author's, it reads well as a standalone. If you've read Collins' Bride Lottery series, I am pretty sure the final pages have a hint about a book to come, so you definitely want to check that out. I'll read more from this author, who kindly put the story on Booksprout which has given me the privilege to read and review.

I really like this book. There are several authors that I recognize, and a couple that are new to me. So far, I've read the short story "Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery" by Margo Bond Collins. This story is a fun, silly take on Earth's traditions and a fast-burn romance. I haven't read the other books in the Lottery series yet, but I am going to. I feel like I've only had a small taste, and I want more. This story is like a dating game reality television show, but with a human woman and an alien male.

I like how Lola starts out kinda hating Xmas. Valtin loves humans and wants to know more about this holiday. The humor throughout the story kept me going. Before I knew it, the story was over. I thoroughly enjoyed these two as well as the supporting characters. I'm excited to read the full-length novels so that I can understand more about the alien species.

Several typos, especially with the aliens' names. I didn't mind - the typos were sometimes laugh out loud funny.

I have this Box Set and I'm finding the short stories in this set very enjoyable to read by a group of writers that write in one of my favorite genres "Alien Romance". The add plus are these stories also are about the Holiday Season which also makes me feel "Merry and Bright". I'm personally writing a review on Margo Bonds Collins story.
Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery
A short Christmas Alien story that was very enjoyable to read and review via Booksprout. Lola Richards got a job being a Santa Elf during the Holiday Season and is looking forward to her last day of tending kids to Santa's lap when Vos Klavoii announces a special Holiday Edition of the Bride Games. Lola gets selected as one of the brides and is beamed to Station 21. Valtin Valenox, a Khanavai warrior, gets told that he's been selected for the Bride Games and is looking forward to the challenges since Christmas is his favorite holiday from Earth. When Valtin sees Lola he knows that she's his mate and is determine to claim her and Lola also wants Valtin but the show wants her to choose Wex instead. Will Lola and Valtin have a Merry Christmas? This book was so much fun to read. It was a quick read but so incredibly fun that the length only bothered me cause I would like to have spent more time with these lovely characters. Lola is working as a Christmas Elf in Santa's Village and let's just say that it is less than her dream job, her outfit sounds ridiculous and spends her days being perved over by dads and dealing with a handsy Santa but what can a girl do when she doesn't have any other options job wise. Then an announcement gets made for a special holiday addition of the Bride Lottery and her name is pulled. Only this one is rather different to the others but when Lola gets there she spies a bright purple Alien, Valtin, and is instantly drawn to him. He recognises her as his mate but can the two circumvent Vos' meddling and end up together?

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery by Margo Bond Collins

Just because she worked hard and graduated from college early it doesn't mean her life fell into place. Lola Richards had to take a holiday job in the local mall for which she has to dress in an ill fitting Christmas Elf costume. Lola has come to the conclusion that she isn't sure she likes Christmas at all at this point. Valtin Valenox is a Khanavai warrior, and he loves all things to do with the human holiday that they call Christmas. He quickly volunteers to participate in the recently announced "Holiday Special" for the Alien Bride Lottery.
Wonderful and sexy characters that meet and decide that they will be mated no matter what the officials of the Lottery have decided. Steamy, and sometimes amusing holiday romance with a twist. Fantastic!

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery
By: Margo Bond Collins

"Can a cranky Christmas Elf and an overeager alien male find the magic of the season together?"

Lola - She takes a holiday position working as a Christmas Elf at the local mall, Now if you have ever worked any job dealing with this crazy holiday the one the first this you learn is the ugly of the holiday because of people and their me me me attitudes so she soon learned to loathe all things Christmas.

Valtin, the Khanavai warrior - He’s fascinated with human holiday traditions, especially Christmas and has decided to make her his own.

"Can a cranky Christmas Elf and an overeager alien male find the magic of the season together?"

This whole series is great and this is a cute funny story that will make you relook at how you see the holiday. There is nothing like a Christmas Wish this time of year.

This review is for "Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery" by Margo Bond Collins. These alien bride lottery stories are perfect little alien romance bundles to cheer you up. This one is shorter than the main novellas, but great for a little Christmas cheer. Lola is all alone in the world, stuck working as an elf and definitely not feeling the Xmas spirit, when she's unexpectedly chosen for a special holiday edition of the alien Bride Lottery show, whisked away immediately to the space station where the show takes place, and introduced to her potential mates. Does she find a match? Read this story to find out. After reading this one, I'm looking forward to checking out the other stories in this anthology. "Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery." by Margo Bond Collins

Humorous and very entertaining short alien romance. Lola is working a seasonable job as an elf at the mall, hating every second of it when her name is called as a lottery bride in the Christmas special and she is beamed up to the station. Valtin loves everything Christmas and volunteers to a groom on the Christmas special and when he smells Lola as she walks in, he knows she is his mate. There is great chemistry between Lola and Valtin and I loved that Lola decides not to let the judges decide for her who she will mate and take matters into her own hands. Their characters are well developed with depth and growth and an realistic array of emotions and actions. This is a very sweet, feel good book - a great read.

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery by Margo Bond Collins
This cute romance is about Valitin and Lola. Valitin is an Alien who grew up loving Christmas from his best friend’s human mom. He really wants to have a human mate. Lola is a human woman selected to be in the Bride Lottery Christmas Special who has learned to hate Christmas especially since working as an elf at the mall Santa photo job. Add in Wex, an alien that Lola does not like on site; who likes to annoy Valitin; and is preferred by the alien management to mate Lola, and you have some interesting plot twists. In general, it was a humorous, relaxing, easy read.

This review is for the story 'Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery' by Margo Bond Collins.

It was a cute story and I enjoyed it, particularly the heroine, Lola. Lola is jobless and to make ends meet, she takes a temporary job at a local mall working as one of Santa's elves. The descriptions of her experiences as a Santa's helper were hilarious. Lola's shift was interrupted by an announcement that there was going a new Bride Game, with a Christmas theme - and that she had been selected for the Alien Bride Lottery. Lola has two possible matches, and the race is on to see which alien is Lola's match ... particularly as she has a feeling that she is intended for the one she doesn't want.

Quick, Cute & Clever!

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lottery by Margo Bond Collins is a short story about a woman who’s fed up with Christmas and an alien Khanavai warrior fascinated with the human holiday. Not an auspicious beginning, but Lola & Valtin grow on one another.

However, Lola starts to get the feeling that everything is not on the up & up with the contest. The human women are supposed to have the right to voluntarily accept or reject a mating. But Vos, the ringleader of the “games,” seems to be changing the rules without notice. So Lola comes up with a scheme to make sure she gets the Khanavai warrior she wants. Grab a copy to see how Lola makes sure the fix is in!

Christmas for the Alien Bride Lotto ( this is the story I read from this collection)

This is a short Novella and the 3rd book of the Alien Bride's Lotto ( Think Alien bachelorette ) In this Book Our favorite Alien reality show is having a Christmas special, Our adorable couple are: a Earthling that hates the holidays and our handsome alien that love it. This is a fast, short ( but full story) and cute story. I read it in a couple of hours( with stops in between) and give you a exciting prologue to book 4 that looks super interesting, can wait to read it!

short and Christmassy

A short story that you can read in an hour or so . Great fun on its own and introduces you to another character with a story of his own to tell. When Christmas is not your favourite time of year what can make it even worse ? Being picked to be wicked away and mated to an alien ( his colour isn't even a Christmas colour ) If you haven't read any of this series before you can enjoy this short story and get an idea of what the others are about If you are already familiar with the series this is a great stocking filler

This is a short story in the Alien Brides universe of Margo Bond Collins. I have read the previous stories in this series and each one can be read as a stand alone. This story moved pretty fast compared to the other ones. Lola is well educated and also working as a Christmas elf when she discovers that she has been chosen for the special edition Christmas Bride Lottery. Valtin has a friend with a human mother so is familiar with Earth's Christmas traditions and is happy to have the chance to match with his possible mate. This is their story. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
