What is reality? For twenty-year-old Hunter Wilson, it's living a completely average life. He attends college classes, works a job he hates, and spends his time with a woman he loves. But as nightmarish visions start threatening his understanding of reality, he fears how much of that life he can save.
Christopher Hall is a fiction writer from Delaware. He originally started writing screenplays for his own self-produced independent films, while also longing to find his voice as a traditional fiction writer. Inspired by the Gothic horror traditions, and the work of H.P. Lovecraft, Christopher became interested in horror, and the opportunities it provides for creative storytelling. He currently lives in Dover, and uses Delaware as the backdrop for most of his stories.
Christopher Hall has written something special. The Split is eerie without being overdone, emotional without being melodramatic. The way Hunter’s reality starts to fracture is written so vividly that it feels like you’re falling apart with him. It’s a perfect blend of psychological depth and emotional storytelling.
This book kept me guessing the entire time. Every chapter made me question what was really happening, and I loved that feeling of uncertainty. It reminded me of classic psychological thrillers but with a modern, emotional twist. A great mix of suspense and introspection that deserves more attention.
This story completely pulled me in. Hunter’s gradual loss of reality feels both terrifying and deeply emotional. The writing captures that uneasy line between the real and the imagined in such a powerful way. I couldn’t stop reading because I needed to know what was real and what wasn’t. Absolutely haunting and unforgettable.
