These books are 90 percent fighting. Literally, one fight ends, another issue arises, and Kazuma/Ryuhou has to beat someone’s ass!!! Ugh! I need more character development in my stories. This doesn’t have much, if any.
And I really hate that every book so far, has had a villain tear off most of a female characters clothing so she’s almost naked (or in this volume, completely topless) as fan service.... Really? It’s so unnecessary and it takes away from the story. The anime didn’t have any fan service. It also didn’t have all the cursing. Which honestly, I’m okay with it. It makes me laugh that Kazuma curses like a sailor.
Ehhh I’m starting to see why I haven’t read these in years and why I prefer the anime instead.
More over-the-top writing and art from Scryed. This volume contains more watermelon than those previous. It is perhaps a bit tricky to keep track of the various factions, but that's no big deal. An amusing and entertaining diversion.
