This series actually has a decent storyline but it tries too hard with all the action. I wish 25 percent of the fights were cut down so we could have some character development or at least get to know the characters a little more.

Anyway in this volume, we learn that the power of evolution that was sealed away, was unleashed and concentrated in the Japan area, creating the Lost Ground and the alter users (in the anime, alter users were born after the Great Uprising happened and alter powers come from the “Other Side”, a different dimension). We also learned that the word of evolution is “sCRYed” (in the anime, it is based on Kanami’s psychic alter powers). There’s a lot of fighting but the main gist of this volume is that Commander Zigmar is a douche (like he was in the anime as well!)!!!

It's ecchi, it's crazy, it's a wild ride. These books are a bit convoluted, super over-the-top, and ultimately a fun diversion.

Hurray gratuitous nudity *sarcasm*. The plot is getting real good now, wherein we find out that the leader of HOLY is the one who created the Lost Ground and also that he's a gigantic arsehole creating human specimens. Kazuma learns what "sCRYed" is but I am still confused as to exactly what that is. Something to do with fully harnessing the "evolutionary energy" that helps fuel the evolution of a species. Or something. I don't know, I'm still trying to figure that one out.
