Texas Healer

Rate this book
Equine Veterinarian Cody Wilson had the job of his dreams – until he gets fired and blamed for letting a valuable horse die. Going home with his tail between his legs and a chip on his shoulder wasn’t what he saw in his life plan. He was destined to be someone, and that chance was ruthlessly snatched away from him.
Rebel Phillips needs a veterinarian for her rescue centre. Bills are mounting up, and her luck is running out.
Until Cody offers her what she so desperately needs, but is it worth swallowing her pride and accepting Cody’s help – especially when she’s still pinning on the man that hurt her the most?

I swear I was born with a book in my hand and that is how I spent most of my childhood. That was fine until I got older and the voices in my head demanded to be heard and I started to write.
The voices are no quieter but there are less of them.

Texas Healer is Cody's book and it starts in Kentucky but it quickly leads him home to Wishbone, Texas. Or rather I should say he is led home to Wishbone because of circumstances and fate. I truly believe in fate. Now in Wishbone, we have Rebel who runs an animal rescue with one of her friends. She bought an abandoned horse ranch and started making it over as much as she could using her own money and any donated funds she could get. Now she has used up all her funds for the quarter and she needs a vet who will work with her. So she pulls up her big girl panties and asks Cody to help her out. Even knowing he let her down and made her the laughing stock of the high school. But he originally turns her down AND doesn't even seem to remember why she should be mad at him even. HUH?!?

Cody's Grandpa let him know he needs to lend his time to Rebel not only to make her animals better but to make himself feel better too. And goodness Grandpa might be on to something there. This is a wonderful read that is clean and gives us a wonderful look into rescue life and Texas as well. I hear this is supposed to be the last book in the series but with more children in the Wilson family so hopefully, our author will get a hankering to write more of the siblings' books.
