This is a wonderful holiday story, so sweet and unique. Lydia finds herself in a bit of a pickle and at first refuses help from Pierre. But she soon learns the error of her ways. I really liked how the story developed. Pierre is so kind and generous with Lydia that you just want to hug him as he teaches her that not everything is as it seems.

I didn’t know I was ready for a holiday story until I read this book. I love Christmas books. It puts me in the spirit. Add a little sexiness and over the knee action, and that’s the best kind of gift to me! Lydia loses her only family and town support. But family friend Pierre comes in to save the day, in more way than one. It was a great read, any time of the year, but especially fun for Christmas ❤️💚

This is a sweet holiday romance with strong ,well developed characters in Lydia and Pierre. The author does a great job developing the relationship and moving them into more than friendship as they come together. It's well written, moves fluidly and is a sweet and sexy read. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

This book has it all – romance, heat and humor – a must read!
Bound by Love is truly a gem of a book – a wonderfully romantic tale with adventure, humor, and a good dose of discipline, all of which are hallmarks of the author’s work. If you’ve been reading the Lighthouses of Devmaer series, you will remember meeting Juliette and Xane in Book 1, Bound to the Admiral. If this is your first foray into the series, no reason to worry as this book can easily be read as a standalone. This story is about two people who are as different as can be. Xane is a bit older, very responsible and a bit rigid. Juliette or Jules, is a young woman who wants to find love but has had a very bad past experience. These two are now living on the same estate and see each other daily with Xane being in charge. With the need for freedom ingrained in her, Jules can be like a butterfly, moving quickly from thing to thing. She needs guidance in a loving manner and Xane is determined to be that guidance. Along the way he finds himself longing to be so much more to her. When they do come together, the heat between these two is incredible. Jules realizes that Xane’s dominance is just what she needs while she allows him freedoms that he has denied himself. Amidst this love story, the reader is treated to the delightful world of Devmaer that Ms. Campbell has created for this series. I loved these characters when I first met them and to find them together is a great treat. Seeing them grow and accept each other in ways they didn’t think possible, forms the heart of this lovely story of love, hope and freedom. I was captivated from the start and I think you will be too! This novella is a like a snack of sinfully delicious chocolate covered cherries and your favorite drink. The book starts back up where Bound to the Admiral left off. Jules has just finished her punishment by Xane for shenanigans in the previous book. And you can tell there is something between them that neither is sharing with each other. I was totally shipping them in the last book and was excited to see this one come out. The chemistry between them is as sizzling as I expected. But I also truly enjoyed the rest of the storyline that involved the other women in the house. Not only did it lead to some other totally hot scenes, but some really sweet and unexpected moments.

3.5 stars .I was reluctant to read the book because it is sci-fi but the synopsis drew me in. A nice story but the elements parts of the aliens' world were a bit difficult to understand. I expected, based on the synopsis and Xane character, that it will be intense with power exchange. It was not. So if you are looking for a dark story , you would be disappointed. However, if a good love story with some spanking is your goal , you will be quite satisfied.

What a lovely and romantic story! Whether you are getting an early start on the holiday season or just want to read a very well written romance, you must snuggle into this page turner! Set in 1921 in British Columbia, this is the tale of a young woman at a crossroads in life. Lydia is rebounding from losing both parents and has come to live with her great Aunt Grace. She’s hoping to find love and support with her aunt and begin to build her future. But things don’t go the way Lydia desired and soon she finds herself completely alone, financially ruined, and quickly losing hope. As backs turn on her from all sides, one person turns toward her and is willing to help her both practically and emotionally. But this handsome man’s help does not come without a cost. Will Lydia be willing, even eager to pay?
Ms. Campbell is a terrific author who never fails to turn a great tale. One of my favorite things about the author is her ability to describe whatever world she has chosen in which to set her story, and to do so in wonderful and complete details. And here again, she more than succeeds. I feel like I’m walking the same streets as Lydia, meeting the same people and experiencing the same smells and sounds. If I were an artist I could paint Aunt Grace’s library just from the author’s description of the layers of charming and time appropriate details. Everything about this story is fresh and new to me. I adore the location, the romance, the bit of spice with the hint of much more to come, and most of all the blossoming of a young woman into a confident, hopeful, and kind partner to Pierre. Everyone deserves a gift, so gift yourself this charming novella that you will read over and over!

This fun stand alone short story answers questions about Xane and Jules for readers of Bound to the Admiral, which might be part of why I was so delighted this was a solid, self-contained, stand alone story. I read Bound to the Admiral when it first came out, but didn’t need to have it fresh in my mind for this story to flow.
Jules is a young woman just coming in to her powers as a woman, in every possible sense. Xane is her appointed guardian and protector... but how does a relationship shift so one appreciates the safety and reassurance offered by knowing someone will always have your back, when all they see are limits and rules?

Discovering New Pleasures -
This is a beautifully written short story, about how Lydia found herself in a scary situation and didn’t have the confidence to deal with it, until Pierre stepped in to take direct and support her. The storyline will make you angry one minute, then horny the next, but it will leave you feeling good by the time you finish reading the book. I was very excited to read the light BDSM action portrayed in this historical romance, as it made the story more entertaining. You need to get ready for your mind to be blown, when you read this book.

My first story from this author: I really enjoyed how there was some power exchange between characters without the complete loss of autonomy, with the female lead able to explain to the male lead an error in logic, which led him to reconsider his position and publicly change a decision.
I liked the characters and the world.

I love the intricate world this author has written. Every story showcases that there is so much more that can be done with what she's started. Jules and Xane's story pick up form where she had run off thinking the young man loved her. Under Xane's dominance and punishment she learns what it means to be truly cherished.

I thought this was a great holiday story. It is set in the early 1920s Canada. Lydia is all alone after her Great Aunt Grace passed away. She is struggling with her grief. Pierre was a friend to her aunt and has become her friend as well. He has been waiting to make his feelings known to her. He knows that they would be good for one another. Will they get a chance at happiness during this holiday season?

I got this as a freebee when I signed up for Libby's newsletter. It's a fun little story and a good introduction to what Libby's writing is all about. I love that it is set in one of my favourite cities, Victoria and is in the roaring '20s. I kept picturing the streets of Victoria and the area that Lydia lived in. If you like a bit of spanking, give this story a try. This is a fun one to read at Christmas.

What a great story. I enjoy the mystical aspects of this tale. The fantasy world of Devmaer is fascinating. The relationship between Jules and Xane is sweet and lovely. I really liked that Xane could evaluate a situation and change his mind and perceptions. An unique storyline with suspense, humor, sexy times, spankings and a wonderful happy ending.

A wonderful holiday story about finding your new family. Lydia finds out what it is like to lose her only living relative and be shunned by society in 1921. A family friend steps in and shows her that no everything is as it seems and she gains more than she could ever dream of. Tragedy, mystery, betrayal, lust, and love make this a great holiday read.

There seem to be a number of loose ends, and that's why I thought there might be previous books📚, which it turns out there are. Some of the dialogue is inane and silly, but I don't think the author meant it to be. 🔮World building is severely lacking. The book is a novella.

August 22, 2020Xane was an alpha male who kept his people on the estate safe but if they needed discipline he was there to provide it. Jules had come to the estate with her cousin who left right away. She was lonely and looking for acceptance and friendship and almost got herself in big trouble. Xane spent the next 10 days correcting her behavior by spanking her. By the 10th day she knew she loved him but didn't know how he felt. Then an out of body experience scared her but also excited her. I loved the chemistry between Xane and Jules finally manifested when her next out of body showed her that Xane loved her also. I have to say that I needed to finish this story as I wanted to find out if Xane and Jules have a HEA. They had the most steamy scene that after they told the rest of the manor they were going to be a couple. There are some other twists and turns that go on but you really need to read the story to find out. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have read most of Ms. Campbell's novels and I was not impressed with Bound by Love. I like the way that Jules woman up to her punishment and agreed to clean up her friend's drugged potion of Xane's drink. I liked that Xane was attracted to her at first sight and with each punishment her fell more in love with Jules.

The characters are intriguing: Xane is strong, stern and disciplined. Jules while strong and determined, just wants the right to make her own decisions. Together they create an intense reaction that one admits to, but the other denies. When they finally do come together, the scene is hot!

After really enjoying Bound to Admiral this standalone book explains and adds more depth to the Admiral book so is well worth read again submissive tops from bottom and really controls the action if you enjoy sci fi erotica with good storyline and in depth characters this is book for you 5 stars

A novella showing the relationship between Xane and Jules. It showed a diffrent side from both characters and I could see why they are so well suited to each other.

Loved it a young woman finds herself alone in the world after her beloved aunt passed and a scum banker wants to take advantage of her. She turns to the only person that has treated her with respect. A man that her aunt saved when he was young and he has vowed to her aunt that he would take care of her niece if anything should happen to her.
