Barriers* – Ann Aschauer [REVIEW]
I have read many books and articles on prayer over the years, some were more helpful than others.
I can honestly say that Barriers by Ann Aschauer is one of the best books I have ever read on the subject. I love the tag line on the cover, “So…if prayers are so powerful, how come mine don’t get answered?”
Aschauer explores fourteen reasons (barriers) that our prayers are not answered. Her no-nonsense style is appropriate for every one from a seeker to a seasoned Christ-follower. She is also very self-effacing in her personal experience with each of the barriers that the praying person can encounter.
“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
