Landon ‘Lambchop’ Johnson, Navy SEAL, Team Leader of Shepherd Security’s Delta Team, strong, resilient, proud, brave, highly trained, patriotic, Pastor. His teammates wonder how he reconciles the job he does with his deep, abiding faith. Lambchop was brought up going to church services with his momma and grandma in Pittsburgh, before enlisting in the Navy at the age of eighteen. But it was on the battlefield that the teachings in his youth made sense to him, and his religious self was born. There in hell, while he viewed levels of death and inhumanity that he could not have fathomed his belief and love for Jesus Christ took hold of his soul. He never hesitated to do his job as an Operator. God would sort them out. That was his job. Lambchop’s was to execute each mission with precision and to perform exceptionally, which is what he did. He quickly earned the respect of his fellow Operators and the officers within the Teams. He was known as a straight shooter, a SEALs SEAL, a leader, and a Pastor. When Shepherd recruited him, he eagerly accepted the offer. He found a home at Shepherd Security and formed intense connections to the other men and women who worked there. He’s watched his brothers fall in love, married them, baptized their children. In this installment of the Shepherd Security Series, Lambchop finds his soulmate amid the chaos of missions. Even though the story does continue from book to book, each is a stand-alone story and can be read without reading the prior book(s), but they are best enjoyed in order. Warning, this story is realistic, with adult language and content as well as the main character’s deep Christian beliefs on the way to the HEA. This is book 8 in the Shepherd Security series.
Margaret Kay is a wife, a mother of two adult children, a grandmother, a pet lover who makes her own dog food from scratch, and a writer of Military Romance Novels.
Margaret's husband proudly served 8 years in the United States Navy. She's a veteran of more than a few deployments as the spouse who took care of the family while her military member served halfway around the world.
Margaret has given us a bit of everything to make this a page turner. There is action, suspense, drama, danger, tension, angst, emotions, secrets, and a hell of a lot more. Twists and turns abound that you don’t see coming.
The action starts right from the beginning and keeps on coming. It is also a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but this is one series you will get addicted too. It did take me a while to get into the story and used to Margarets storytelling but once I did it is easy to enjoy the stories.
Make sure to start at the beginning as characters do cross over. The stories are told through multiple POV’s as you really get inside the characters heads and know what they are thinking and learn who they are better. These wonderful characters are well written, complex, and fully realised. These alpha men and women are saviours and will do anything to protect those who they love and those who need it to fight against evil and those who wrong others.
I really liked Shepherd Book 8 Operation Beach Angel By Margaret Kay I am really enjoying this series I can hardly put it down . I recommend 18 and up .
Note: Some readers may be offended by the frequent inclusion of faith based references.
This book is structured markedly differently than its predecessors and lenthily focuses on unraveling the Alaskan conspiracy from Operation: Unknown Angel, though it focuses on Landon ‘Lambchop’ Johnson, the team’s pastor and includes pieces of his past, family issues, loyalty to the team and his multi-faceted friendship with Michaela adds another dimension.
Meanwhile, there are hints that tech genius Michaela is chained by the secrets of her past, Lambchop appreciates a woman with trouble that puts the pair in the spotlight. While this reflective read covered a lot of action pieces, to my taste, the pacing is slower than usual and time was spent on the team members private lives and the ending left this reader feeling there wasn’t enough of Lambchop’s romance. I have loved Lambchop, aka Landon, from the start of this series and loved finding out more of his background and what made him into a man of God, fighter for what’s right, teddy bear and leader of his flock at Shepherd Security. We don’t know much about Michaela because she is super shy but the wives and girlfriends in this family have included her. The double wedding ceremony killed me emotionally. It was so beautiful. You may need tissues. After the wedding they go in a team honeymoon and Lambchop invited Michaela to go as a friend. He’s praying for a change in the relationship but there friendship means a lot to both of them. Of course you know trouble is going to find this group and I love the retired Master Chief that assisted them. Settle in and enjoy this one you won’t regret it.
Landon ‘Lambchop’ Johnson, was a Navy SEA and is a Team Leader of Shepherd Security’s Delta Team. He is also the pastor for the team. Lampchop has watched his teammates fall in love with women that were part of the mission. He has been in love with Michaela, who works in the R&D area of Shepherd Security. Michaela has know that Landon has feelings for her, but due to her past, she has trouble with trusting anyone. Landon asked Michaela to go on a trip to Hawaii, which was a honeymoon for two of the couples who just married. She agreed and the story starts. This book and all the previous ones are just great. The book goes real fast. Each book is about another member of a team. The mission they take and how their wives and girlfriends because so close to each other. I can hardly put the book down. You should read them in order. Make sure these books are on the list.
I have been waiting for Landon "Lambchop" Johnson's story, and it certainly exceeded my expectations. Throughout all of the tragedies that he's lived through, he still has his faith, determination to help others, and overall has a healthy positive outlook on life. The only thing that was missing was a special someone to share life with. He's had feelings for his bf for a while, but is strictly in the friend zone. Will he find that someone special sooner rather than later? You'll have to read this to find out, but you won't be disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
This book follows on its nearly 400 pages so a long read and lots happen. This book is about lambchop but we do follow other couples as well, we know from past book who are pastor is interested in but we find out why they are not together. So it was unclear who at first because there was lots of possibilities from his past, at his work on his holiday still 100 pages in and I was still unsure (made it a great read) I did feel sorry for him so was routing for love and not what a women can get out of him.
Next book the one I have been hoping for is Shepard the boss man he has been in a wheelchair for 5 years saw a women get violated while he was tied up to watch. (Past books) you just know he has a big heart even thought he is demanding but in his job he has to keep his men safe. Will he ever walk again?
A beautiful and inspiring love story! Many ups and downs throughout with mystery and action with the Shepard teams. Very well written and will keep you reading non stop to the end. It does contain a religious theme which some people might not enjoy, but I loved it!! It is blended into the story so smoothly and belongs to Landon/Lambchops character. I definitely recommend reading this book!
...and was glad to get a glimpse of Lambshop’s background and insight to his religious beliefs. Did a little more crying with this book especially when Landon’s brother and friend were killed and during the double wedding ceremony. It was so beautifully written, I couldn’t hold back the tears. Looking forward to book 9.
I truly enjoyed this book. At the beginning there was a warning this would have aspects of God in the story. It did, but if you know Lambchop at all, you know that God is a Hugh part of Lamb chop. Therefore I didn't find any offense in the Quotes from the Bible or in his prayers. I love the way Lamb chop is with Michaela. So very loving it warms the heart.
This book tells Lambchops background story . I was a little disappointed because his feelings for Micheala are more of an afterthought then then romance. To me this book is not of the same quality as the previous books in the series. Cliffhanger as far as their story.
I wished that his background had been more concise. The story had so many repetitive points that it really just made Lambchop's character weak. I would have liked more focus on Michaela instead of leaving her problems to the very end. Too many subplots going on....okay, on to next book.
This book fills out more about Lambchop's life in addition to weddings and honeymoons. It is a fun book with mystery, action, and a new relationship between Lambchop and Michaela. Very entertaining!! It's best to read this series in order to get the most out of it.
Sounding like a broken record yet again I want to say that I love this series. The stories are awesome and the characters are multifaceted. That blend makes an awesome read. If you are looking for a little intrigue with a little romance on the side, then this series is for you. I highly recommend this series.
The good news is Beach Angel ties up the loose ends from Unknown Angel. The bad news is Beach Angel loose ends will be revealed in Book 10. This drives me as a reader insane. Margaret Kay is an incredible author. Her novels are riveting; the action thrilling; the chemistry exciting. If she wasn’t such a marvelous story teller, I’d have moved on.
Margaret Kay has delivered another wonderful story! While this one was more game and more about love than the other books it was still awesome!! I can't wait for Shepherds book!!!!
Love all the characters and the chemistry between them. They are all part of a family, everyone caring about each other. Totally enjoyed the story and can't wait for the next one.
This book was a page turning book ! Where you just wanted to keep on reading and see what happens next!! All Shepherd Security book this far were awesome. Can't hardly wait for the next one. Thank you
Basically continues where the last one left off but in another characters point of view. As a true believer in scripture I have a few things I disagree with but that's all. This book is definitely worth the time. The author certainly doesn't disappoint.
Lambchop holds a special place for a few reasons. He’s from Pittsburgh where I am. He’s spiritual but not a holy-roller. I really love his prayers. He took responsibility for his nephew and his siblings. Not crazy about Sherese.
Stat reading at the beginning of this series. Although each book is a stand alone, I recommend starting at the beginning. Characterization builds through all the books. Good action , well written story lines .
Lambchop has had his eyes on Mickla for a long time, but she didn't want to take it any further. Then he did a double wedding and all the team decided to go on a honeymoon vacation to Hawaii. While there they finally agreed to get together.
