Remember Me

Rate this book
Bernadette has it all. A hot fiancé, a gorgeous fixer-upper farmhouse, and a new job doing what she loves.

The only problem? She can't remember any of it.

After an accident results in amnesia, she’s released all too soon into a world that makes little sense, haunted by a nagging conviction that something is not as it seems. With only her intuition to be her guide, she must piece together the puzzle that defines her existence, and decide whether or not to trust the stranger by her side.

Here's a brief excerpt to get you started:

There were little clues everywhere, hints of the person I’d been before the accident had wiped that person clean away.

I stretched out on top of the quilt and clicked off the lamp beside the bed. Hands folded across my belly, I stared up at the dark ceiling and released my breath in a sigh.

The accident.

It was shrouded in the same blankness as every other essential bit of information. I had been told it was a car accident, that I’d hydroplaned on a wet, twisty road and careened into a tree. I’d been driving fast, though, a fact which I cringed away from, feeling instinctively that it was out of character.

And I was also apparently pregnant, something the doctor had discovered in routine bloodwork upon my arrival in the emergency department. Had I even known? He said it was early days yet, maybe five weeks.

My fingers moved reflexively on my stomach. A baby. I couldn’t tell someone my phone number, but I was going to have a baby.

I could not put this gem of a book down! Superb writing and gorgeous, lovable, quirky characters. The scenes were realistic and Hayes' patience and devotion was SO ROMANTIC! This one is a Keeper!

This story charmed me, made me laugh out loud, brought tears to my eyes, and had me cheering at that whopper of an Epilogue. This author will keep you guessing until the very last page!!! Hayes and Birdie's trials and tribulations kept me up into the wee hours of the morning. I knew it would be a waste of time trying to get any sleep before I turned the last page. Elle Rae Whyte's writing is spell-binding at times. Her lyricism and rich choice of descriptors brings the small town setting and quirky cast of characters to life right before your eyes.

Hayes adores his feisty Birdie, but his delusional T.A., Serena Hansen, won't take no for an answer and sexually harasses Hayes, causing a massive misunderstanding that has almost near fatal results for Birdie.

When Birdie awakens from a coma after a horrific car accident, Birdie can't remember the events of the past year - and certainly not the man everyone tells her is her devoted fiancé.
Are you expecting the usual amnesia tropes?

I wouldn't hold fast to those assumptions, if I were you! This author likes to mix things up a bit.

Birdie may never regain her lost memories. She doesn't know who she can trust. Birdie is also not quite sure WHY she needs Hayes to prove that he loves her beyond everyone and everything else. My eyes were glued to each page, hoping that this charming couple would work out their very serious relationship woes.

Hayes and Birdie come across as real people, with real-life issues. I enjoyed spending time with these characters, and this will definitely not be my last E.R. Whyte novel - I'm hooked.

I also loved the excerpts from Tyler Knott Gregson's poetry: so moving, and they helped set the emotional tone for each new chapter.
I loved this book. It was a great read, and left a huge smile on my face when I turned the last page. Exactly what I needed during quarantine! I rate this one a 5 out of 5. Well written and top marks for entertainment value! Highly recommended!

A very well written romance read I enjoyed, well paced and with the appropriate angst and drama.

Hayes and Birdie were likeable characters and great together and I could feel their struggles since Birdie’s memory loss caused by car accident.
It was a sweet and beautiful slow burn romantic story.

5 Totally Rememberable stars!!

Remember Me was a book that I totally savored like fine wine until the very last page. This is a story of whether true love can over come anything that is thrown at you. .

Birdie has the perfect life , a hot teacher fiance, Hayes, and a new fixer upper home. All of that however changes for her after an accident that has left her not remembering the last couple of years or Hayes. Hayes has to work to help Birdie try to remember how they were before the accident. However there is a catch, what will happen if Birdie remembers what caused the accident?

I totally fell in love with Birdie and Hayes aka Small and Big. These two were just so cute and showed that opposites do attract.
So if you are looking a quick second chance, slow burn read then you NEED to grab this book. This is the perfect read to curl up by the fire with a glass of wine read.

I can't wait for Remi and Levi's book!!

This was my first read from this author and I definitely enjoyed it. It was a second chance romance with a bit of a twist. Also, I am HERE for a book that involves UT as a setting, Go Vols.

Both Birdie and Hayes were enjoyable and frustrating. Truthfully, Levi and Remi stole the show for me and I can't wait for their story. They brought so much to the story and the growth of Birdie and Hayes without being overbearing.

I found myself very frustrated at times with Hayes, he did things and I just wanted to smack him. But he also made me laugh and I could see his tenderness shine through. His love for Birdie was pure and real which was such a driving force throughout this book.

Birdie was also a source of frustration because as a reader, I can see the whole picture when she cannot. I empathized with her struggles because that would be absolutely terrifying to go through especially not knowing who to trust. I loved her spunk and how she persevered.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read that was sweet and refreshing. It made me laugh at some parts but also made me swoon at others. It was also a pretty quick read that was perfect to break up some of my darker reads.

New to me author -- sweet slow burn romance -- the female lead, Birdie drove me nuts with her constant whining (though she did have a good excuse). You'll find Hayes to be the perfect alpha who loves Birdie and leaves no question in your mind.

A sweet story but it just didn't bring on the swoon for me.

The story of Birdie and Hayes is one that will have you waiting for the other shoe to drop. When a misunderstanding causes Birdie to careen off the road and into amnesia, her fiance, Hayes, prays she'll regain her memory. Adn at the same time prays that she doesn't. She doesn't remember him, their love or what caused her to lose her memory. He desperately wants her to remember their love. But if she does, he could lose any chance with her forever. Which does he want more? Find out as you read through the hurdles they meet. Does she remember? If she does, will she forgive him? You'll have to read to find out how it all ends.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 “Even if I’m different? And what if I don’t ever remember loving you like that?” He swallowed but didn’t hesitate. “It’s not conditional. It’s not something I can turn on and off at will. Even if you never remember and decide you want something…someone…else, I’ll always love you.”

What You’ll Find:
✔️Smalltown Romance
✔️Second Chance
✔️Slow Burn
✔️Amnesia
✔️Dual POV

What would you do if you woke up in the hospital and couldn’t remember your fiancé? Or the life you built together? Remember Me tells the story of Birdie and Hayes working their way through Birdie’s amnesia after a car accident. And it had plenty of feels along the way.

This is my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it! It’s romance slowed down. It’s about trust and connection. Faith. It’s a slow burn. But does have some steamy scenes. It was heartwarming to see the little snippets from the past... of them meeting and falling in love. You route for them, for her to regain her memory! The ways in which Hayes tries to help and remind her, it was so sweet. He will make you a little mad at times too though!

This has some edge of your seat emotion and angst... and also some humour and sweetness. It felt real and raw at times. I felt the author did her research well on the amnesia element. It flowed well and was truly a welcome change in pace for me. Slow but steady beautiful romance. Left a smile on my face at the end. And I am excited for Remi and Levi! What great side characters. She’s pure firecracker and he seems like he’s up for the challenge! Look forward to more!

Thank you to the author for the eARC for my honest review.

What would you do if you woke up in a hospital and didn't know or remember who the man is that is holding your hand? E.R. Whyte's new novel, Remember Me, is beautifully written and is heartwarming.

After surviving a rainy-day car accident and suffering a traumatic brain injury, Birdie wakes up in a hospital having no memory of the past few years of her life. This includes her engagement to Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome, Hayes, and that she's pregnant with his child. Birdie is then thrown back into a life she can't remember and has to piece it all together. Will she use this as a "do-over" in life or will she ultimately fall back in love with Hayes?

This short and sweet novel was very enjoyable to read. It kept me interested from page one and I had a difficult time putting it down (I read it in less than a day)! I love the banter between Birdie and Hayes. Birdie is quiet but quite a little spitfire. Hayes is a nerd but also a jock. Their dynamic is something people dream of having with their significant others. This is a novel I can keep on my bookshelf and easily reread at least once a year because it's a feel-good kind of novel.

I recommend this novel to romance lovers who don't mind a sex-lite story, to second chance readers and to those who just love a good read.

My overall rating if this book is a 4.5 out if 5 stars. Like I stated previously, it kept me interested from the start and I did not predict the ending. I generally like a little more smut when I read a romance novel, so that's why I took away the half-star.

A good book evokes different emotions. In REMEMBER ME I felt uncomfortable when Birdie did. I didn’t think Hayes was telling us everything or Levi was interested in being a friend. I remember thinking “I don’t like this” but kept reading because that was the point - we weren’t supposed to be comfortable with how Birdie and those around her felt when she couldn’t remember them.

So I was really impressed with the writing that drew me along right with the characters. You’ll enjoy experiencing how things change for both Hayes and Birdie while at the same time knowing a secret will be revealed that could blow everything up. It’s a good book!

Poignant tale

What would you do if you suddenly couldn’t remember important things, like your fiancé, among other things? That’s what Birdie discovers after waking up from an accident and a gorgeous stranger tells her, among other things, that they’re engaged. Whyte’s tale of her journey back to being an “us” again is well written, well thought out, and at times heartbreaking. Don’t worry, there’s an HEA in her future, but it won’t be an easy trip for her. Well worth the journey, though. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I was looking for something with all the feels and this book did not disappoint. Birdie and Hayes have it all until they don’t. An accident puts Birdie in the hospital where she is in a coma and when she wakes up she has no memory of Hayes or their life together. As the story progresses Birdie starts to regain some of her memories of her relationship with Hayes. Then she remembers why she ended up in the hospital. You’ll have to read to see how Hayes and Birdie find their way back to each other.

This Book is wonderful with Excerpts from Tyler Knott Gregson’s poetry reprinted with
permission at the start of each chapter a truly special extra depth is given to this Romance Novel. It deals with a subject I suppose some of us may have thought about , how do you deal with your love for someone if due to an accident or an illness they loose their recent memories & especially the ones they share or shared with you.
In a Poignant way it made me think of elderly couples when one of them develops Dementia or Alzheimer's & who have been married for sixty plus years but get pushed away both physically & mentally as Birdie does to Hayes within this story of a young love. I won't spoil the end, but recommend you read this book yourselves . #FB, #Instagram, # GoodReads, # NetGalley, #50 Book Reviews, #img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856..." width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #Professional Reader, #Amazon.co.uk,

Reading this book will leave you willing the heroine to regain her full memory .

After birdie drives off enraged she hits a tree and ends up in a coma .
Only to awaken to see hayes who she is engaged to but let's make one thing
Clear she doesn't remember or trust him .

However this does little to stop Hayes from trying to do any little thing to jog
Birdies memory .
From cream puffs to signs .

Sometimes the loss of memory allows the second chance to fall and I think you will all enjoy the super sweet cinnamon roll hero hayes

My personal favorite character from this book is Remi and I am waiting to see what happens with this charismatic character.

4.5 /5 🌟

I adore E. R. Whyte and her particular brand of storytelling. This book is no exception. Amnesia is a trope I love, and the author knocks it out of the park. This is a romance with some heat, heart, angst, and wit. How can you go wrong? I loved the dynamic between Hayes and Birdie.

Another incredible story by a new favorite author of mine!

Loved this book. The chemistry between Birdie and Hayes was amazing. I didn’t want to put the book down. Finished it in one day. Loved the dual point of views. This book has me laughing out loud and well as in tears. They had to overcome so much and still go their HEA. Epilogue was perfect way to end the story

I adored this book! Hayes and Birdie were so cute. I was gripped from the first chapter. I also liked the secondary characters, Levi and Remi.

Birdie has everything but an accident, which leaves her with amnesia, threatens her perfect life. Will she ever remember her life before?

Remember Me is the first book that I've read by E.R. Whyte and it won't the be last. This is a well written second chance romance with all the feels.

Birdie and Hayes seem to have it all. They're happily engaged, fixing up their dream home and are just starting out in their careers. They are the "it" couple that others strive for in their relationships. Then, tragedy strikes when Birdie is in an accident and wakes up with amnesia, unable to remember her fiance. Birdie made Hayes work for her affections the first time around, and he's willing to give it his all to make her remember and fall in love with him again. Birdie can't help the feeling that something is standing in their way though and she begins to question if this second chance is actually her opportunity for a different life.

This story is emotional at times with a bit of angst. My heart broke for both Birdie and Hayes for the situation that they were in, but at the same time, I wanted to yell at them both once or twice for the mistakes that they made. Overall, I enjoyed this story and it left me with a smile on my face. Remember Me is definitely a story that I won't soon forget.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!
This is my first book by this Author and WOW! Other than a few editing errors I loved everything about it. I loved the storyline, it was really different from other books I read but the characters were so easy to fall in love with and the Author has a very easy writing style I enjoyed so much. I couldn't hardly put it down. Birdie is a great heroine. She's tough but vulnerable, she's really sweet but she's so confused and lost after her accident that she's scared to remember and scared that she won't remember. Hayes is a romantic hero, he's so sweet and considerate to Birdie's feelings, he's so patient with her it's frustrating that she keeps pushing him away. It's heartbreaking that they're going through this after everything Hayes did to win her heart in college. That was actually funny. She has him all twisted up. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your memory. I felt so sorry for Birdie, not to know your fiance, to not even remember yourself or what you were like. At times I had tears in my eyes for her and at times I was laughing. I love Birdie's best friend Remi. She's very outgoing. Little by little as Birdie's memory starts to come back I kept waiting for the ball to drop and tear them apart again. I loved it when Birdie stood up to that b*tch Serena. Hayes is so amazing to Birdie it was so sweet and touching but at times Birdie putting Hayes off was so frustrating I was cussing her out in my mind. Lol. I loved every minute of it. The elf on a shelf was too funny. The chemistry between them is so hot and the ending was so great. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

This was my first book by this Author. The blurb sounded good and I wasn't disappointed. At all. The cover was fantastic which caught my eye as well.

Hayes and Birdie was an enjoyable story to read. It was heartfelt, tense, sad, funny with so much love thrown in. The whole 9 yards, it was great.

If two people should be together, it was Hayes and Birdie. Reading their journey was lovely. I enjoyed the step back in time bits which helped fill in the blanks and also how they came to be.

Both characters were strong and yet vulnerable, funny and yet sensitive. Stubborn yet cute as pie.

As the tale unfolds it keeps you glued to your book/kindle. This book had me stuck right there and I couldn't put this down.

I very much enjoyed the peom's by Tyler Knott Gregson. Some certainly moved me and have even written them down. A lovely touch and very much connected to this story.

Even though the ending was reasonably predictable, it certainly was an enjoyable ending of an enjoyable book.

Remi was a great addition to this story. She was always keeping it real and had no qualms telling Birdie when she was wrong, which was great. Everyone should have a Remi in their life. I certainly look forward to Remi's story.

Overall, it was a lovely story of two people who were meant to be together and were lucky enough to find their other half even with the big bump in the road. If you are looking for an easy to slip away into another world for a while book and love it while your there, then this is the book for you.

The concept of falling back into yourself while juggling romance is a theme I've read before. I came into this one with an open mind though. The recovery is an individual experience so I didn't expect predictability or a formula for the read. I looked forward to seeing how events unfolded with the characters and how Birdie worked through her memories (or lack there of).

The Good:

The book was an easy read. Very sweet. Well written (descriptions, word choice, etc.) Also, I enjoyed the references to other authors in the story. Not something that I see very often. People usually only mention oldies, but goodies. Pleasant surprise there. Overall, I enjoyed the read. Would recommend to a friend looking for a romance to pick up.

The Not-so Good:

The actions/choices of some characters didn't really make sense to me. Not giving away spoilers, so I can't be more specific than that. I think a bit more character development would have connected some of the dots easier for me.

Remember Me is such a page turner, I can barely put it down. A wonder! It was so good that I managed to finish it within a day.

I love both Hayes and Birdie and I'm so glad that this book is dual POVs. That way, we can see and understand both of them from their point of view. Hayes love for Birdie feel so pure and true, and it's wonderful even though Birdie can't remember him, and appears somewhat cold towards him after losing her memory he strives for her affection. He didn't give up.

Wonderfully written romance book with great pace and plots. I also love that E.R Whyte include excerpts of poetry by Tyler Knott Gregson at the beginning of each chapter. They are lovely.

All in all, I can confidently say that Remember Me is an enjoyable read for me. It's a heartwarming story with the right amount of drama, humour and angst. I would love to check out more of E.R Whyte works in the future.

This reads like a less dramatic version of The Vow.

I'm not sure it all flows. We hear from everyone in Birdie's life that she and Hayes had a solid, everyone wants to be them relationship.

So the beginning, where she flees without giving him a chance to speak seems very out of character with what we learn about them.

The blurb made me think the story and mystery would have a more sinister undertone, like there was a bad guy lurking in the background.

I was a little disappointed.

It's a great read, Hayes is a fantastic character and I'll totally take him if no one else wants him.

I did expect more though.

I enjoyed the read. Was very well written and basically no grammatical errors. It was pretty easy to follow and I enjoyed the before and current timelines. It was helpful to understand the characters connection. I did feel like it was missing a few more of those moments, where we learned a little bit more of their past. Those could have been nice to have to really feel the emotions between them. I do have to say my favorite part was the “lost girlfriend”. It was something super cute and insightful for the storyline down the way. Overall a nice read and nothing majorly wrong, just would have liked a bit more detail.

Can’t wait for the next book in the storyline. Seems like it’s going to be really good.

It was such a sweet story and I enjoyed the characters. Unfortunately, Birdie was not my favorite girl. The only interesting thing she got going on, was her amnesia. And of course this is extremely serious but we didn't get any chance to really know her. Apart from a specific event in her past, that was solely used to explain everything about her, we did not get any real glimse in her character. We didn't get much about Hayes either, but he was more likable. His love for her was endless, how can you dislike him.

Regardless, this was a fun, light read and I do reccomend it. :)

This was a fantastic read! It’s not only very well written, but the characters and storyline are just stellar. I’ve always loved the amnesia trope, but it definitely didn’t feel like a gimmick here, but is so well done that you could be reading about something that happened to actual people in real life. I also tend to not like when stories do a lot of jumping between past and present, but in this book it happens only a few times and is so well done that it works well and is seamless.

I’m definitely going to be tracking down more of her books.
