It's wrong to want Clara Bishop. She's sweet, innocent, and no match for a man like me—or my secrets. None of that will stop me from going after her anyway.
It should never have happened. When she stumbled into my life, I made a mistake. One that will change me forever and cost her everything.
I kissed her.
I didn't expect it to mean anything, but I can't get the American out of my mind. I want her in my bed. The press wants to eat her alive. And my family? They'll destroy her.
If I don't ruin her first...
Warning: contains a hot, protective alpha male, a strong, surprising heroine, and a cast of characters you'll want to be best friends with. X is a sizzling introduction to the multi-million-selling Royals Saga for new readers. Long-time fans can experience the internationally bestselling phenomenon from Alexander's point of view and fall in love all over again...
Geneva Lee is the New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling author of over thirty novels. Her bestselling Royals Saga has sold nearly four million copies worldwide. She's shamelessly addicted to recovering alpha males, headstrong heroines, and drop-your-jaw plot twists. People Magazine calls Geneva's books "convincing with fluid writing that's full of drama." When she isn't writing or reading, you might find her on another adventure with her real-life hero and their three kids.
***re-read 2/2/24*** I still really love Alexander (X). I loved that we get so much of the stuff with his dad that we never see throughout the series. It really does help make more sense as you continue to read. So glad I'm making my way through this series again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Royals Saga has been one of my favorites since I read them last year! I was very excited to find out we were going to get X's POV for Command Me.
We are able to get a glimpse into some of X's conversations with his dad, which I was always curious about. Same thing with Pepper. He is really all over the place with his feelings for Clara. He constantly goes back and forth between wanting to be with her and wanting to let her go to protect her. I was glad to see that Noris and Edward could see how he felt and helped him realize some of his feelings. I suppose these feelings come from someone that has been led to believe he's been a problem his whole life. Maybe that's why I love X so much. My heart breaks for him and I just want him to have that HEA with Clara. Or at the very least for him to understand that he is deserving of that HEA.
Loved this book! And now it makes me want to start the series over again and re-read it for the third time!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
My goodness! My heart is beating wildly and I think I’m in love!
I am new to this world and wondered if I needed to read the Royals Saga or at least the first 3 books! I can say that you do not and well I have just purchased the first three because now I must read them! The desire drips off the pages of this book and my goodness the intensity of the Hero is just beautiful! I can say that this world is not what I thought it was but I am obsessed now and can’t wait to read the first 3 books! I am excited to see how it plays out because the ending of this book let’s you know that it’s not over!
After finishing this book, these are the questions I have: 1. How is it possible to be completely up to date with a series (main characters initial story is complete), but still be gutted from X’s POV of the book that started this all?? 2. Why do we love the broken, manipulating alpha-holes in this genre so much, especially when we would never put up with the in real life??
If this is your first leap into the Royals Saga, get ready for some serious sexy times with some lite BDSM elements and a lot of angst. X has his scars (mentally and physically), but it’s that damage that makes you want to fix them (answered my own question).
So as you can pretty much figure out, I already love X and Clara, but to get his side of things, the conversations with Norris and Edward were a treat and provided new perspective. In Command Me, I always found X to be very vague with how he communicated with Clara, turns out his self reflection and inner thoughts are almost just as vague, but towards the very end he’s a little more open.
If you’re a fan of the series, there will be names that come into play and make you wonder about the direction of the series and how it all could have gone in a different direction if X hadn’t avoided certain things.
I am new to the world, and since I haven't read the original story told from Clara's POV, I will say I need to read them now, I loved Alexander's side of the story, it makes me wonder what happens on the other side. I went in blind and definitely would recommend it to anyone who loves hot royal romance stories. Alexander is a very complete and complex character, the world Geneva Lee creates is very good and I love the descriptions she writes. The steam of the story is quite good. This story is full of passion, suspense, and hotness overload. A must-read!
""Clara Bishop is a mystery I want to solve if only to make her unravel. With my mouth. With my hands. With my cock.""
""She has to fucking defy me, which is possibly even sexier than the brief glimpses of submission I’ve caught when kissing her.""
Goodness, this was so hott and smutty reading from Alexander's point of view, i loved being in his head, such a filthy talker, i need a cigarette, i normally don't read books on Royals but this gives it a different twist. I won't give much away but this is about 2 people with sad and damaging pasts who have to overcome alot and are constantly being reminded of their mistakes. Hope y'all give this book a shot. Because Clara and Alexander are chef's kiss. 🔥💦
After adoring Geneva Lee’s The Rivals series, I was eager to dive into more of her work. I read the Smith and Belle arc of The Royals saga, and it left me curious about the Alexander and Clara arc. X tells Command Me – the first in the series – from Alexander’s point of view, and it failed to grab me in the way I’d hoped.
Although there were many aspects to this one, none of them grabbed me in the way I had hoped. There were details I was curious about, but things felt a bit too flat for me. The chemistry and suspense were lacking, which pulled away from the moments I did enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, there were some three-star moments. Sadly, there were too many cliches and it had me rounding my rating down.
I’m sure fans of the series will enjoy seeing things from Alexander’s point of view, but this didn’t work for me the way other books from the author have worked.
I have been a Geneva Lee fan since I first stumbled across Command Me. Delving into the initial world of the Royals is complex, but it is a read full of passion, intrigue, and sexiness. And while Clara was developed in the early books as a strong, powerful protagonist, there's no question that I kept turning the pages of each book for Alexander--reading very book in the series to see more of X, enjoying all the twists and turns that came along, but the real reward has finally arrived.
In X, there is so much more than I could have ever hoped. While it was easy to fall in love with X through Clara's eyes, this book finally gives us insight into a character loved by so many. Understanding more of Alexander's motivations, his guilt, his passion, his drive allows his character to be multi-dimensional. And reading this after the previous twelve books leaves so many hints at the storylines yet to be seen.
My favorite part of X's story is literally every moment with Norris and Edward. Edward, the beloved bestie of Clara and Belle, is much more of an ally to Alexander than previously known. Edward's commitment to his brother and to love makes his relationship with Clara much more realistic through this story. And his guard and guide Norris's counsel is established more predominantly than in the early books of the Royals series.
While I knew from the beginning how the book X would end, finally experiencing the blossoming of Clara and Alexander's great love affair through X's voice, and seeing the impact of her on his soul was worth every moment reading the book. X is filled with so many answers to questions I didn't even know I had. Thank you Geneva Lee. This was a fantastic read, and it will easily be in my reread rotation right after Command Me!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
For some reason, I've read some of the later books in the Royals Saga, but not yet Command Me. I'll have to rectify that. This book is told entirely from Alexander's point of view, from his first meeting with Clara.
Alexander is the heir to the throne, but his relationship with his father, the King, is strained at best. Following a tragic accident involving his sister, it was “suggested” that he enter military service, from which he has recently returned. Both the accident and his military experience have left him traumatized, and as a result he doesn't let anyone get close to him. He has embraced his womanizer image, knowing it'll offer him physical gratification without risking his emotions and heart. Meeting and then getting to know Clara Bishop changes that.
He is intense, with some dominant tendencies. Although Clara tells him she doesn't share those inclinations, her body's reactions tell him otherwise. For both their sakes, he treads with caution, slowly introducing Clara (and us) to his desires. Let me tell you, it makes for some steamy reading!
While things seem to be going okay in the bedroom, the outside world is a different story. As we all know, paparazzi can be brutal, and British tabloids are some of the worst. However, not only are they subjected to these virtual strangers harassing Clara, they also have to deal with scrutiny and negative comments within royal circles. This makes for some rather interesting confrontations, to put it mildly.
Alexander experiences quite the personal revelation in realizing his feelings for Clara run deeper than he anticipated or was ever prepared for. But will this character growth be enough? Pick up the first books in the Royals Saga to find out! And hopefully we'll get more from Alexander's point of view. One can only hope.
This has got to be the my fave read This year so far ! Being New to Geneva Lee but man am I kicking myself Right now that I have never read this series !
It’s been a while since I Have felt this captivated by a read or as Consumed by a couple as I am right now, in fact I think I could become obsessed, Now that’s when I know I’m Loving a story because all My top reads are series I am Obsessed with!
Alexander is everything, a True alpha that has awakened the obsession, the bad boy behind closed doors, the one with a heart of stone the one determined no one will change him. With a dark need of desire hidden within him but yet a slow unravelling of his softer side where he tip toes to place of acceptance of love and let’s himself feel! I always fall for the broken! The story from His POV really gives you all the feels, everything he says has you holding onto every word, every touch to her gives me bates breath and before he even knows it you can feel his love growing deeper for Clara !
When it’s a story of Royals, you think romance and etiquette, clean and happy but rules and formality so the fact that this royal Story gives us a Prince with a bad reputation, one who commands control, dark and dangerous only excites me as he breaks The rules and boldness of his disobedience in such a prim and proper world gives me Butterflies.
This story is Steamy. Erotic, erousing, forbidden but interesting, completely captivating, emotional, and a story I have simply devoured and has left me in a state of panic because I am in need of The next ..... right now ...
I am also dying to go back and read from Her POV because at the moment she comes Across as timid but I have a feeling if I read the other side of the coin I will see a whole new side of Clara.
This was the first time I read a novel by this author and I just jumped right in on this one. If I understood correctly this is a prequel to the Alexander and Clara series. So no need to have read the other books in the series as this one is technically the first. I don’t know what I was expecting. I thought I was going to get super sexy BDSM play but what I got was just Alexander the prince wanting to insta bone Clara from the moment they meet at her graduation party. Continuously telling her he doesn’t court but he likes to bone a lot. Like a lot.
He isn’t supposed to be the feeling type of man until he meets her and things completely turn around for him. He has his ptsd issues when he came back from the war and she has issues with her ex Daniel.
Obviously these two have to over come their issues separately to be able to come together in the coming books.
I just needed more and that’s why it isn’t a 4 star.
"I've been told to go to hell a number of times, I decided to take the advice."
Geneva Lee is my one-click author and she never disappoints! I have already fallen in love with Alexander through the Royals Saga, but being able to go back to the beginning and see X's inner thoughts and struggles, and not feel like I have read this all before, just goes to show how amazing Geneva is with her storytelling.
Through Alexander's eyes we are able to see his first glimpse of the woman who would give his heart a home, but also see the relationships between his brother, Edward, his father the King, and his confident, Norris.
It's the same story we all love, but with a whole new perspective that will recapture the hearts of the readers and beg them for more or is a great starting point for new readers to Geneva's Royals Saga. Are you ready to be consumed by X?
X takes us back to where it all began. If you've read Command Me you know the story, but not like this.
This book gives us a look into Alexanders mind, the way he thinks and feel about himself, about Clara and the world, that we never understood before.
As I expected Geneva Lee has packed this book full of emotion. I've read Command Me, many times, yet I still found myself on the edge of my seat, my heart pumping hard, as I read X and fell in love with Alexander all over again. Alexander is angsty, full of self-doubt and loathing yet confident and sexy, very sexy. If you are looking for steam in this book, you will not be disappointed. It gets heated.
If you haven't read Command Me I think you will still enjoy this book, and introduce you to the wonderful world of The Royals Saga.
I fell in love with the Royals Saga from the first chapter of Command Me, and here we are with book 13 (!!!) in the series. And now we finally get to read how it all started through Alexander's POV.
After reading X I have to say I want more. Not necessarily all Royals books told in X's POV, but snippets of secrets, meetings, special occasions and such. I love to read the male's side of things. It makes a story more complete.
After reading the whole series I still feel like there are some unanswered questions floating around. And now with X, there's even more I want to know. About King Albert, Hammond,Smith...Sigh...
I received a copy of this ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review"
This is one of the very first books in the Royal Saga. This one is told through Alexanders point of view. Alexander is next to take the throne and with that job comes responsibilities that he is to fulfil. Only he can't seem to get his mond off of a certain woman who has captivated his mind after just one kiss. Clara is a strong and compassionate kind girl who finds it hard to fit in with the royals and she isn't afraid to have her opinons. The two seem to fight their attraction and it always ends up a mess. Will Clara and Alexander give their relationship a shot or will he forfeit it all for the sake of his royal duties?
All I can say is Wow! Geneva finally lets us into the mind and world of X through his eyes. I could not get enough of this mysterious man. X is told through Alexander's eyes. Now, we can finally see his side of the story. The first time meeting Clara, his family interactions, etc. Geneva needs to give us the whole series again through his eyes! You will not be disappointed reading the story again through X. Another great book by Geneva Lee!

The Royal Saga is a journey of self discovery for Clara and Alexander (X). Their romantic interludes from X’s perspective is one of the hottest reads I’ve ever read. I would encourage any romantic book lover to delve into this must read. It does start at the beginning when they first met, first kiss and ending with wanting more... more story... more romance... more love... more X. Geneva Lee has delivered once again.
X (aka Alexander) marks my heart, because having Command Me from his POV made me love him even more. To know what he was thinking and feeling at the beginning of his love story with Clara had me understanding his reasoning and choices. They had instant attraction and chemistry, but his thoughts made me smile and swoon. Even though it has been years since I read Command Me, they still gave me butterflies and all kinds of feels. But he has darkness in him, so can Clara’s light draw him out of it? Or will they both unravel? This author’s words from Alexander’s POV wove an entrancing story of lust turning into craving to possession to love, and I loved every minute of being back in The Royals world. This book is a wonderful place to start if you have never read this world, and it will make you want to continue! I highly recommend it!
*I requested and received a copy of this ebook for my honest review that I am voluntarily leaving.*
I read all the Royal Saga books and keep re-readeing them. They are my favorite ones! This world Geneva has created makes you wish you could live there. And I was excited to read the first book in the royal saga series from Alexanders pov. It just, it was amazing. To see everything through his eyes. This book made me smile, cry, wish I could throw things at some characters! And the bedroom scenes.... oh my!!! I won't give anymore away, so go grab your copy!!!!

It has been a long time since I read Command Me but reading it from Alexander's POV brought the whole series rushing back. Their was a lot of sex in this book, but Alexander and Clara are so hot for each other, it was interesting being in his head and boy do they have a lot of hurdles to get through. I'm curious if we will see all the books re-released in Alexander's POV.
If you have read Clara and Alexander’s story from the beginning you will LOVE LOVE LOVE them even more with Alex point of view !! From that one first kiss he knew he needed to find and see Clara again !!
Can she be his ?? Will she be his ?? Will he’s father let him be with her or will he destroy her in the process ?? See what he went through his eyes !!
Can’t wait for more .. I hate to give it away with more I want to say and write BUT we all know it is worth every word and every feeling !!
Reading this book felt like I was having a homecoming of sorts! Command Me was the first book that I read of Geneva Lee's and reading X and this story from Alexander's POV felt like I came full circle with this series. I enjoyed reading Clara's and his story from his perspective as I got to see it through his eyes making me understand his issues that he had at the beginning of their relationship better as well as giving me the opportunity to see the moment he fell for Clara. This was such a great read that I can't wait to see what Ms. Lee has in store for readers next.
I have read all the books in the Royal Saga series and have loved each and every one. Something about a Prince (Alexander) and a commoner (Clara) just draws me in and Geneva Lee knows just how to do that and keep you hooked. This book corresponds with Command Me, but is written in the POV of Alexander. All I can say is that it is scorching hot! Loved this book and I know you will too.
I received a free copy of this book via BookSprout and am pleased to leave my review.

I'm usually not a fan of the same story being told from the other side.. truthfully the only one prior to this that I read and enjoyed was about a certain vampire that sparkled in the sun.. don't judge.
Lee was able to write Alexander's thought process in a way that will grab the readers from the first page. It's been a hot minute since I read Command Me so everything felt new and had me re-falling in love with the gang. Seeing Clara through X's eyes will have the reader drooling and begging for more!
Do you have to read the Royals saga prior to this... No, but I highly suggest you do.
I absolutely loved X’s view of this story through his eyes. I want more!
I have to say that I loved the whole Royal Saga Series when I first read it. It is one of my favorite series. I love Alexander and Clara. To see it through Alexander’s eyes was a treat for me. I love reading books through a man’s POV, living through his thoughts and feelings. Alexander’s story filled in some of the questions I had at reading it through Clara’s eyes. There is ultimate desire, and want and need. You can feel the love through the words. Congrats Geneva on a truly awesome book!!
G did it again! Reading Command Me through X’s eyes only makes you love him even more! X is literally branded to my heart! X is raw, emotional, panty dropping, and everything you never knew you needed in your life! This is a book I could read over and over again and never get tired of it.
I love that I never felt like I was re-reading Command Me. It was a refreshing reminder of why we all love Alexander!
