Two years have passed since the fateful battle in the Underworld. The mythic warrior Raine and her dragon lover, Talan’alaith’illaria, have settled down to a life of domestic bliss. The peoples of Arianthem enjoy a peace unknown for centuries.
A storm brews in the Underworld, however, as the Goddess Hel fumes in her realm. Enraged by her defeat at the hands of mortals, she schemes revenge against those who humiliated her. She will risk the Allfather’s wrath to obtain what she believes is her right and destiny: Raine at her side. And she will unleash an ancient evil to gain what she covets the most.
Raine realizes the threat, and knowing that the wrath of the Goddess is most focused on her, chooses to separate herself to protect that which is most precious to her. Forced to face Hel alone, a strange and unexpected gift arrives to provide her strength and solace, a gift that turns the tide of the mental battle she wages with the Goddess of the Dead.
Just when I think the first series couldn't get any better, Sabian starts a second series that blows all of my expectations to pieces. I love fantasy. I love all of the dragons, the warriors, the elves, the wolves... I love'em all!
Although, I'm sad that the rest of the books in the second series aren't as available to me as the first series.
Samantha gave a new meaning to the word "protector" . Ever since I discovered her work in 2016, I've been on the longest rollercoaster ride. I still wanna stay on as long as possible. The Dragon's Night delivered for me and my emotions are all over the place right now after reading this book. Goddamn.
After more than four years it’s good to have Raine and Talan back again and overall this was a very enjoyable read. However there were a few small things that I didn’t like. It’s probably just me, but I don’t like stories that jump backwards and forwards in time. As for the actual story, I definitely enjoyed it, but I did think some of the things that happened seemed a bit contrived.
I am now looking forward to the next book, I just hope it isn’t a four year wait.
The Saga continues! A great addition to the world of Arianthem, this series picks up after the end of the last, with not much of a time skip. Focusing on Raine and Talan, we get to see more of their immediate circle and how they all interact. Particularly Talan's two children Idonea and Drakar. All in all, a great beginning to a new story arch. I look forward to more!
I am all smiles over here. What a neat built up in 2nd Chronicles of Arianthem 1. Samantha is a genius. I truly love all the characters even Hel herself.
I am very much waiting for the next book.
I highly recommend reading all the previous books for this amazing story.
