I was her therapist. She was my lifeline.

You think having a one night stand with a woman in a bar would be simple, right?
She was everything I wanted.
This little dark-haired beauty who let me do exactly as I pleased.
And gave as good as she got.
Everything about that one night was perfect.
Until she walked into my office with her twin sister.
I tried to stay away and deny what was between us.
She was too young. Too innocent. Too sweet.
And worst of all, my client.
She got under my skin, making it impossible to forget her.
I’ve had a taste of the forbidden.
And once was never going to be enough.
Fiona Benson made me throw caution to the wind.
I watched the flames crash and burn.

A patient/therapist forbidden romance set in Sarah Bailey's Dark Universe. This is a standalone in an interconnected series.

I loved this novel! Prohibit is the third installment in the Benson Siblings series by Sarah Bailey and is the story of Fiona and Jensen who meet and have a one night stand. Jensen is shocked and conflicted to find out Fiona is his new patient which forces him as a therapist to maintain a professional and ethical separation. Both Jensen and Fi struggle with their feelings as she seeks help for her past events. This well written dark and forbidden romance has a strong psychological and emotional storyline, a unique plot, heartfelt characters, unexpected twists, and steamy chemistry. I highly recommend this phenomenal book, as well as the rest of this series.

THIS MAN. Right off the bat Jensen is something else. So to say Fiona was completely blindsided by a very assertive older gentleman at Ellie’s bar, would be a dramatic understatement. She’s baffled by his proposition, but still she finds herself meeting this man in the back of the bar for a very hot and intense one night stand. Well at least she thought that’s what it was.

Now the Benson twins have agreed to start therapy to get help from their past trauma, stemming from the one and only Zach Benson, their horrid father. As Fiona and Jennifer head into their first session together, the identity of their therapist throws Fiona for a loop. Fiona constantly struggles with an insane amount of guilt and matters only become worse. But after a lot of tears and some heartbreak, she finally comes to terms with her past and what she wants moving forward, she’s determined to put herself and her happiness first.

Who doesn’t love a forbidden age gap? And not only does this have everything you would expect, but it has this man. Jensen also struggles with his past and doesn’t think he’s a good man or worthy of love. Again we find our couple completely tangled in the web of these families. There’s no way for anyone to keep anything a secret for long. But in the end it’s so clear that they find what they need in each other, and I was so happy that these two got their forever.

Prohibit by Sarah Bailey is the third book in the Benson Siblings book series after Provoked and Promises. For this one, the sibling in question is Fiona, one of the identical twin girls from the infamous Benson family of London. First things first however, as we’re introduced to the male lead Jensen, a successful therapist who is downing some drinks at a trendy bar. A vision of near physical perfection walks in and Jensen sets his sights on this particular conquest. Jensen is never one to go home empty handed, and his game is as strong as they come. As per usual, I hate the male lead in the first chapter, and (also as usual) my angst is rooted in pure jealousy. Jensen makes it clear what he wants with this sexy young thing, and he’s the sort of man that always gets what he wants...

While this is a stand alone novel, it pays to know what brings the family to the current events in this particular story. Fiona and Jennifer have both experienced unspeakable sexual, physical, and mental trauma, and at long last the girls are going to receive some therapy. Fiona just had one hell of a sexual experience last night...in a trendy bar restroom, and maybe this’ll serve as a good bookmark before getting her life straightened out with some therapy. Damn, the therapist is also quite a handsome number but looks so....oh no. Jensen and Fiona committed the mother of all ethical violations, and managed to do so with without even knowing each other first. Can these two work through the immediate baggage and somehow make progress on repairing Fiona’s psyche? Well even if not, she’s still got access to some top drawer dick, right?

The standard dark romance novel typically says “to hell” with realism in the face of conflict, however Bailey has once again done her homework in creating a believable atmosphere. In 99% of all situations, Jensen would unquestionably withdraw from providing therapy for Fiona, but given the similar troubles of her twin, and the family elements layered on top, the reader can understand this pickle of a circumstance. Jensen is not without baggage either, but his grief is doled out slowly to the reader. This is an interesting trick used by the author, and while it keeps me on needles and pins, it also sends me into a brief panic to think I missed something. If you’re unfamiliar with Bailey’s style, here’s a brief fictionalized recreation:

***Grant gulped down his 4th whiskey of the night. Sure, he just had the best pussy of his fucking life, unquestioned and simply on demand with a rich 11/10 beauty queen, but no amount of hot simultaneous orgasms could yield the pain of his past. Grant threw his glass across the room in disgust. “WHY DIDN’T I JUST HOOK UP THAT TRAILER WINCH MYSELF?!” Grant couldn’t look at a railroad crossing the same way after the....incident. The only other thing in the world he couldn’t get out of his mind were those green eyes on Jezebel. This was going to be one fucked up haberdashery convention... ***

Jokes aside, the conflict is both believable and heartbreaking for both sides of this developing relationship. While Jensen is a cocksure son-of-a-bitch, he’s not without vulnerabilities which makes him so much more desirable to both Fiona and reader alike. The sexual content is exactly what you’d come to expect with this author: early, often, and goosebump-inducingly hot. Fiona is receiving proper therapy, but it seems the off the clock variety is benefitting her twofold over the classic couch conversations. The dom/sub dynamic is near perfect, and we see a better examination of how a dom needs the sub, and the beautiful vulnerability that’s shared between people caught up inside this crazy, untenable situation.

Verdict: Prohibit by Sarah Bailey is another great dark romance set inside the Corrupt Empire universe, delivering both the steam and conflict that comes with any installment of the Sarah Bailey library. The professional dynamic of the characters isn’t one to recommend or even embrace in good conscious, but a deep dive into the psyche of both therapist and client shows we never really had a choice in the matter. The novel arouses often, and tugs feverishly at the heart strings right when you’re the most vulnerable. If you’re familiar with the author, you’ll be satisfied with more of what you need, but if you’re new to this series, this one might be a good barometer to whether this universe is right for you. There's no need for an appointment, and walk-ins are always welcome. This doctor is more than willing to see you now.

Special thanks to Sarah Bailey for providing an advance copy of Prohibit to TehBen.com for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

♥️ Jensen and Fiona Forever!!!

This couple!!!
This couple has officially topped the existing couples in the Benson series (for me personally). I have to say so didn't think it would happen but there we have it.
(However, since finishing Prohibit, I'm gearing up to see if Jen and he-who-she-hates has what it takes to snatch the crown).

I loved all the forbidden this book had to offer. Personally, there was so much more to it than just chemistry and hot, hot steaminess. It was very endearing, relateable and satisfying. The healing process for both characters was well executed. The explosive reveal in the end was everything I thought it would be and I truly felt the emotions from all characters as if I was in the room with them. Emotions ran high and of course they would when it's a forbidden romance.

I loved the togetherness, the family theme, the trust (or lack of), the danger and intensity.
Jensen is my favourite because of the care he shows Fiona, the professionalism he embodies, the pain he carries, and the vulnerability he presents. Personally, I found he outshone the other MCs in this series because I truly felt his desperation and longing to hold on to Fiona even though it was forbidden and inappropriate at first. But I loved the risk. I loved seeing love prevail and how well Sarah Bailey managed to justify their relationship perfectly.

I feel like the last book will succeed in sending off these characters into the sunny sunset flawlessly. I expect fireworks, a lot of craziness, a lot of crying, basically a huge whirlwind of emotions before we reach the finale.

I'll miss the Benson Siblings but can count on the author to give them a wonderful send off!

Jensen and Fiona did a number on my heart. Jensen is sexy and oh so swoon-worthy! We get to see a side of Fi I never knew existed. I loved her sacrificial heart... oh my, she is such a sweet, caring woman! But Jensen and Fi shouldn't have been together, he's her therapist... but the attraction is stronger than both of them. Let the secrets begin. They're playing a dangerous game and someone is bound to get hurt in this forbidden romance!

Ms. Bailey has a gift for writing angsty, heart-shattering, wild, HOT-HOT-HOT, addictive books. There are always twists and turns. In Prohibit, she made me cry and that's no easy fete! She broke my heart and then put it right back together masterfully.

Every one of Ms. Bailey's books is fantastic, beginning with her Corrupt Empire series, which I HIGHLY recommend reading --> Betrayal before starting the Benson Siblings series for your reading enjoyment.

I can't wait for Protect, the final book in the series!!

They risk everything but can they really be together

Prohibit is yet another emotional story in the Benson Siblings series by Sarah Bailey. This is the story of Fiona and Jensen. They meet at a bar and have an incredible one night stand and separated afterwards without exchanging any information, including their names. But later Jensen discovers that Fiona and her sister are actually new patients of his, as he becomes their new therapist. There is so much forbidden dynamic at work in this story it is palpable. Jensen has a hard time maintaining a professional distance from Fiona and she is so vulnerable to him. They have a chemistry that cannot be denied for long and things become more than complicated. Jensen is putting everything at risk to be with Fiona, not the least is the trust of her sister.

Prohibit is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who is looking to curl up with a completely enthralling and fascinating story that you just cannot put down.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Prohibit is the 3rd book in the Benson siblings series. I recommend reading The corrupt Empire series first and the fist two book in this serie before reading this one. If you love dark romances you will love this serie.

I really love Fiona and Jensen story. They met in a bar and had a one night stand.

She didn't think she will see him again, but the next day her sister and her had a appointment with their new therapist and it was him.

They both try to stay away from each other but soon realize that it wasn't possible.

This book has a captivating storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book!
Intensely sensuous, wrought with emotion, and so well written that I absolutely could not put it down!

It is complete with its very own HEA, however, secondary characters are interconnected with other books in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone or they can be read in order of publication for maximum pleasure *wink, wink*

She goes to her brothers girlfriends bar and she sees this hot sexy man. They have an encounter in the restroom and it's hot. They see each other when her and her twin comes to his office for a therapy session. He is unaware of her name but he cant stop thinking of her. This is the third book in the series and I do recommend reading the others first. Fiona and Jenson are great characters who have been through a lot in their pasts. They share a steamy night together and Fiona is shocked to see him again with she goes with her twin sister to see a new therapist the next day. Entertaining, with lots of steam and great characters. I liked it.

Prohibited but perfect

Finally persuaded to have therapy after their father's abuse, Fi is shocked to discover the doctor is a man she had, uncharacteristically, had hot sex with on first meeting him.
It's the turn for the twins to find their happiness, but the worry here is someone coming between them.
Another brilliant story in this series. Both characters surprised by the depth of their feelings,Sarah Bailey writes so well about conflict, trauma and all-consuming desire.

Prohibit is the third installment in the Benson Siblings series and though it is not necessary, I do recommend reading the series in order for a better understanding of the characters, family dynamics, and general background. Also, to actually ‘get your feet wet’ so to speak, I would suggest reading Bailey’s Corrupt Empire series before this one as a lead in because it introduces the Bensons and gives a glimpse into characters and what lays ahead. Both of these series are dark romances loaded with angst, conflicts, inner turmoil, reflection, letting go/moving forward, healing/forgiveness, love/hate, and tons and tons of smoking hot that will keep your pulse pounding and have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Though I have enjoyed all the books in the series (Corporate Empire too) this one was a little different for me. I had a couple of start/stops to get really get into this one. First, I guess partly because I was not expecting the story to start with Jensen, but as you begin to read, you discover why and it does make sense. Secondly, while I do not mind dark romances this one pushed a little out of my comfort zone with the breath play and my brain did not want to get past the therapist/patient scenario. However, Bailey writes the storyline in a way that if you get past your logic and truly think ‘what if’, I could see how it could be a plausible situation and when emotions and feelings get tangled in wanting to help and do the right thing lines can easily be blurred. It all sorted out beautifully though in the end.

Jensen and Fiona are seriously put through the wringer in this book. Fiona’s situation is known from the previous stories in the series though here we get to experience her feelings and get inside her head and see how she moves forward and starts to heal. We also get to see the obstacles she and her sister, Jen, face with their therapy, the secrets and lies, the forbidden relationship reveal, and how it affects her relationship with all her siblings going forward.

With Jensen, his story is a bit more subtle and revealed over the course of the book. We get hints of devastation and despair and snippets of feelings and see his struggle with the therapist/patient relationship with Fiona and the turmoil when related to his family but Bailey does an excellent job of really pulling you in to get the whole story on him.

Jensen and Fiona both have serious emotional battles and inner struggles to work through individually and together to find their happy ending but what a great ending it is. I am definitely looking forward to Jen’s story, the final book of the Benson Siblings series.

OUTSTANDING READ!!!!!!
Jensen is drowning his sorrows at the bar after just another disagreement with his brother. When a woman walks in and he knows he must have her. With all the confidence in the world he goes over and tells her to meet him by the ladies toilet in 5 minutes. And the lady didnt let him down!! The chemistry between them is off the charts. Once done Jensen kisses her on the cheek and walks away. What he wasn't expect was the same woman to walk through his office door as a patient!!
Fiona never had one night stands but there was something about this man that made her follow his instructions and boy was she glad she did. A Night not to forget. But she got the shock of her life when her and her twin sister Jen walked into their new therapist office. Its him the man she has been dreaming of, the man from the bar. Fi is unsure what to do She had slept well there was not sleeping involved with her therapist. When he makes out he hasn't met her before she follows his lead.
When they met for a one on one session its becomes apparent that they cant keep their hands off each other. The chemistry is off the charts and the passion is explosive. But is it worth risking his career. would His reputation be ruined
This is an outstanding read. This is the third book in the Benson Siblings series. And I couldnt wait to read about the girls. I just couldnt put this book down and read it through the night. I got totally lost in their story. Amazing read. Sarahs style of writing just keeps you hooked till the very end. And I cant wait for the fourth book in the series. BRING IT ON!!!!!!

This well-written book has an interesting story-line that holds you right from the beginning keeping you hooked and on edge. The story is very intensely sensuous, wrought with emotion, and so well developed that I could not put it down. The characters get a HEA but, secondary characters are also interconnected from other books in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone but they can be read in order of publication for a much better read. Their relationship is definitely unconventional: both are struggling with their past, have an 11 year gap, not to mention that they have a counselor-client relationship. I very much liked the book, and their physical side definitely had the chemistry.
If your like your dark romances then Prohibit is for you. cannot wait to read more in series.

Beneath this inappropriate and forbidden romance between therapist Jensen and his patient Fiona, an intense, haunting painful energy flowed between them.
I’m not sure how this author managed to create such a rich storyline in this series that just gets better and better.
Filled with emotional angst and haunting memories that were so so moving and sad.
The intimate scenes were very well written and even though breath play bothers me, it intensified the brokenness of this couple.
As their secret relationship grew, I loved the way Jensen was overwhelmed by his feelings and need for Fiona.
The family drama fell in line with the over all series theme and tied in well with the previous books which were equally excellent!! Of course, now I want Jen’s story!

Jensen and Fiona was strangers who hooked up in a bar. Both of them left wanting for more but didn't even know the other's names. But then she discovered he was her and her twin sister's new therapist and totally off limits. They knew they had to keep their relationship professional but they could not keep away from each other, not even with the stakes as high as they were. He could lose his licence and she could lose her sister's trust. But they soon realised that some things are just inevitable and that they will take any risk necessary to be together. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, I could not put the book down. This writer has such a special way with words, it pulls you in and make you part of the story.

This is book three in the Benson Sibling series. This is Fiona Benson's story. It all starts with a one night stand that becomes unforgettable then Fiona and her twin sister go to a therapist, guess who that is. Yep, the one night stand, Jensen. The attraction is still there and it's getting stronger which makes it harder to ignore. Each of these characters have a past and come with there own set of baggage. Can they get passed the age difference? Can they move forward from their pasts? Can they love one another and possibly heal? Another great story in the series! I cannot wait to read Protect. Enjoy!

All the books in this series have the same hard hitting history but the way the siblings are so close makes it a bit easier to read, they completely love each but had the room in their hearts to fall in love with their own soul mates, each story has been so good on their own but knowing all the characters from each other’s books has been totally addictive, really enjoyed Fi and Jensen book, actually found myself feeling so sorry for Jensen the way his family treated him but so happy he was getting his and Fiona’s HEA, Cannot wait for Jen and Brent’s story that has been simmering along in the background!!!

Steamy, and Intense

This is the third book in the Benson Siblings series, and the story of Fiona Benson. When Fiona has a amazing one night stand, and hooks up with Jensen, she is shocked to walk into his office the next day, and find out he is her therapist. With the spark flying between these two, how long can they keep things professional. This was an great read, the characters are well written, and have amazing chemistry. This was dark, intense, passionate, steamy, emotional, and dramatic. Great read.

Fiona and Jensen are hot together.
Fiona hated keeping secrets from her identical twin. They were always together even during the most horrific event of their lives. But somethings are just meant to be yours and for you alone.
Jensen was always professional until he wasn't. The threat to his career couldn't keep him from Fiona.
Each surviving a horrible tragedy finding help to overcome in each other.
Once I started reading this book I couldn't stop until the last page.
ANOTHER GREAT JOB SARAH BAILEY

It was good to read Fiona's story as there were definitely some intriguing details in the earlier books. Jensen and Fiona's relationship is definitely unconventional. They both are struggling with their past, have an 11 year gap, not to mention that they have a counselor-client relationship. I liked the book, but I thought their relationship could have used a bit more work in the getting to know each other part vs the sex part. I definitely got the chemistry but sometimes felt the dialogue was a bit lackluster. It wasn't my favorite book from the series.

He’s her therapist

Ok. There were many things that didn’t sit well for me. First, breath play. Not ok when they literally just met and got it in in a toilet. Two, they hooked up and he still became her therapist. That’s unethical. Especially with their background of trauma.

Still, the read spicy if you ignore all the morality. I guess that was supposed to make it hotter? But it just felt immature with the sneaking around and not telling anyone they were together.
