The Church was following the words of men rather than the Word of God but brave men read God’s Word and were saved from their sins. They fought for truth against the most powerful organizations of the time – the Church and the Crown. Danika Cooley explores how God’s people changed the Church, Europe and the World. This is the story of how the Church found the gospel and the people heard about Christ.

There is so much church history packed into these fun pages! The information is laid out perfectly for your homeschool studies. It is packed with interesting history, fun facts, and tons of action to keep your kids (and you) turning pages! I loved learning about so many heroes of the faith in a succinct way that flows from page to page. It’s perfect for family read alouds or for your middle grade (aged 8-11) student to read on their own. I highly recommend it!
The frightful and wonderful story of a time when the Gospel was all but forgotten. But God, who always works, raised up and trained men to proclaim the truths of Salvation. Disregarded and opposed by the powers that be these men of God understood, with the Bible as their only guide, that salvation is found in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone. They understood that this work of salvation and all the works of God's people are and should always be for the glory of God alone!
An appropriate history lesson for a day like today when mans words are yet again added alongside the Bible and even trusted more than God's words. Bless your children and your family through a renewed passion for the truths of God and His word!
Love it! This book has history, culture, theology, humor, and the gospel all in an easy-to-read, fun story. I love Danika Cooley's style of writing. It feels like I am listening to a mom playfully telling her kids stories from church history. Cooley doesn't shy away from the hard truths of history, but tells the stories in ways that kids can easily understand and equips parents to answer questions kids may have. The book is filled with grace and truth, as Cooley lovingly corrects the poor theology happening during the Reformation and points the reader to the gift of salvation through Christ alone and the knowledge of God through his Word. Such a great resource for Christian families!
The Reformation can be a hard concept for children to understand and often it isn’t taught because people don’t know how to explain it. This book makes puts it in terms that are easy for students to understand. It can be used as a part of a church history course for elementary students, a family read aloud, or independent reading. Written for children, but adults may learn some things as well. The illustrations add a lot to the book as we
Your book is so approachable even for young kids. With fun illustrations and written with a sense of humor, you covered DEEP topics that kids CAN understand. I can't believe how much theology you were able to fit into these books in such an engaging way! These are so deep but so approachable for young kids. Well done!!
I LOVE this book! It’s so engaging for all ages but it isn’t fluff in the slightest. Rich theology, interesting biographies, and great church history. The illustrations are lovely and I really appreciate the beautiful way the book presents the good news of Jesus Christ! This is now my favorite church history book for kids or those new to the topic.
What a pleasing book! It condenses down a very big topic in a meaningful way and will help kids have a well-rounded perspective on the Reformation. Danika introduces the kids to the major players in the movement as well as what drove them to act as they did. On top of all that, she shares the Gospel in such a clear way. Kids will love this book!
I absolutely LOVE this series! Not just because it's written by a fellow Reformed Believer, but the fact that it makes learning about the Reformation easy for kids. It's a great chapter book for my 7-year-old to read on her own and it's a great read-aloud for me to read to my 4 and 5-year-olds. I love the fact that we can learn about the Reformation as a family!
This book had good info. that sparked some great conversations with my (11 yo) son. Sometimes the explanations were a little too brief and there was some awkward sentence structure. Overall, it was a helpful primer to the reformation.
