Kimberly became a Catholic at the Easter Vigil of 1990 in Joliet, Illinois, after a difficult struggle during the four years following Scott’s entrance into the Catholic Church. She has completed a book with Scott on their journey into the Catholic Church entitled Rome Sweet Home: Our Journey to Catholicism. It has been translated into Spanish, French, Czech, Polish, Chinese, Italian, German and Dutch.

She has contributed chapters to Catholic for A Reason: Scripture and The Mystery of the Family of God, Catholic for A Reason II: Scripture and The Mother of God; Catholic for a Reason III: Scripture and the Eucharist, Catholic for a Reason IV: Scripture and the Mystery of Marrigae and Family Life, and The Gift of Femininity. Great book for any Christian, but if you have a problem with Catholics maybe stay away. This book does not shy away from Catholic Theology at all. This is the first part of a four part series dealing with the wisdom of Proverbs 31, the virtuous women. Kimberly Hahn offers great insight from her personal life and her background in Theology to bring together a book for those of us who not only love being mothers, but also also love the Covenant of Marriage.
This book is not just for women although the cover design may speak feminine. The insights that she brings to the Covenant Theology of Marriage are definitely for couples about to be married or those who are already married.
Because from every Covenant made with God, new life springs, there is obvious references to children in this book, but I believe there are other books in this four part series that go into more depth.
As a Catholic, I loved this book. It provided me with useful insights and ideas that I could implement into my marriage. I have been married for nearly a year and found this book's tips really helpful. I would recommend it for any newly married woman.
Conflicted too much with my personal views on marriage. Have better books I can be reading. Decided not to finish it and instead focus on other books instead.
I don't think I learned anything I didn't already know and believe about the importance of Catholic marriage. However, Hahn has a beautiful voice to read, and I appreciated the Biblical connections throughout the book.
this woman's idea of a Catholic marriage is outdated and unrealistic. she speaks as if she never experienced real struggles with her partner. not a helpful book at all!
Kimberly Hahn does not shy away from saying what she thinks is right. While her beliefs are more traditional, this book caused me to think and pray about a variety of topics.
This book aims to be accessible to Christian women in a variety of stages in life: single, married to a non-Christian man, married to another Christian, divorced, etc. This comes at the cost of applicability a little bit.
Hahn’s writing style is casual but educated. Each chapter is short and digestible. It is a quick and valuable read.
I really loved this book and will definitely read it again, it was super easy to read and follow. She explained everything perfectly and it's taught me alot!
This was chosen for my small group book study. We are a group of married mothers (5-13yrs married with 2+ children each). 3/4 into the book we all decided to discontinue it for our study.
The back mentions “whether you are engaged or have been married for decades” - which is one of the book’s downfalls.
The book is SO BROAD and feels like a very long lecture on basic Catholicism (if you know the basics you don’t need to read the book) sprinkled with a whole chapter of her personal beliefs on women working/not outside the home.
I did finish the book, because I hoped it would get better.. but the book ends with two whole chapters on divorce. And then the book ends with how you can help support your children’s marriages.
I do not recommend this book. This book was tossed into the recycling bin when I was done reading it!
