Like a distressed peacock, this book sinks its talons in you and does not hold back! My Dear Margaret is a delightful blend of modern feminine-fueled attitudes and Victorian set dressing, all with perfect touches of humor sprinkled in. The story offers restrained romance, akin to Jane Austen, in one gloved hand and devouring physical intimacy in the other. The dynamic cast of characters are bright, fun, and keep you engaged every step of the way. The protagonist, Celeste, is just as strong willed as she is compelling, and I found it hard not to root for her! With incredible pacing cascading to a satisfying ending, you will not want to put this one down!

Sexy, light, frothy beach read. Vacation escape. Who will marry whom? Who will bed whom? Surprises around each corner.

Personally, this isn't my kind of book. I love the manners and society rules in period dramas, like Age of Innocence by Edith Warton. It's electric. This book was too modern in thoughts, morals, and actions for me. I just can't root for a bed-hopping character, personally. Your milage may vary!

I received an Advance Reader Copy, this is my honest review.
