About the author

Nigel Ernest James Mansell is a British former racing driver who won both the Formula One World Championship (1992) and the CART Indy Car World Series (1993). Mansell was the reigning F1 champion when he moved over to CART, becoming the first person to win the CART title in his debut season, and making him the only person to hold both the World Drivers Championship and the American open-wheel National Championship simultaneously.

I knew many things about his career in F1, and that the tifosi did call him Il Leone for a reason: a fighter, never giving up, always pushing himself and although breaking almost every bone in his body twice he continued fighting for the championships. But I did not know that he volunteered as a police man, and that he became a magician to overcome the side effects of a injury. Yes, he is not the most modest on the planet but you have to believe in your abilities to become a world champion. The book provides unique insights in what it takes to become a winner, his personal life, the sacrifices, and the glory. Nigel Mansell is a proud person, and he has every right to be so
