In 1973, a team of archaeologists working in the People’s Republic of China’s Hunan providence discovered a treasure-trove of archaic Chinese texts, in a tomb dating from 168 BCE. This amazing archeological discovery included an obscure and very mysterious collection of ancient codices. Although authorship, compilation, and date of composition have been vigorously debated by scholars, the works are most commonly attributed to a diverse collection of profoundly mysterious “old masters” of ancient China, whose existence far predates even the mythical Yellow Emperor.
