Ali Parker is a full-time contemporary and new adult romance writer with more than a hundred and twenty books behind her. She loves coffee, watching a great movie, and hanging out with her hubs. By hanging out, she means making out. The man is hot. Hello. She’s a creative at heart and loves coming up with more ideas than any one person should be allowed to access. She lives in Tennessee with her hubs, teenage son, two grown daughters, and two love-of-her-life grandbabies! Telling a good story that revives hope, reminds us of love, and gives a vacation from life is all she’s up to.
The titles is misleading. There is no hate between the leads nor any animosity. They are just weird.
This was extremely boring and Tyson was just plain dumb and Mae was stupid. Such a waste of time reading this book.
This is a second chance trope which I hate with a passion (which should have been tagged so it would have spared me the annoyance) because the reason for the breakup is usually something very dumb. In this case they were young and madly in love with each other, so what did Tyson do? He just up and left, just like that. He didn’t even breakup with her, he just fled. Why? Because he was a coward. For what? Because he felt he needed to party and whore around. I couldn’t even laugh at the absurdity of it all.
So 15 years later they meet again and he wants to try again. He fucks up time after time, it doesn’t even make sense anymore. Mae keeps eating whatever shit he dishes up for her. I hate doormat female characters. And don't forget this chick orgasms at first touch...yikes...no idea what the hell that was, but it was weird as hell.
And let’s not forget about Tyson being an introverted nerd with tattoos, muscles and a private jet who became a billionaire with digging up artifacts for his museum. Sure one can dream. Tyson doesn’t have any background info or family. He fell from the sky, just like that. The only thing we know is he was Patricks friend at some point in life.
Okay this one made me a whole lot more mad about these characters. He’s not thinking about things from her side but she doesn’t help by blowing up about it. She doesn’t have to assume he’s lying. I want to say that if he had been more clear it would have been fine but tbh she just assumed the worst of him. Neither of them is better than the other. So therefore. They’re perfect for each other in that right.
Tyson and Mae are so cute. Couples can be so strange! Lol. The best romances ate ones where the couple has to work hard to finally come together and have the happily-ever-after they deserve. But even Tyson and Mae know that their HEA won't be perfect, but they're having fun along the way!
Part2 Mae takes her little revenge on Tyson for buying the family business, she takes an artifact that he really wanted for his collection, then she lands an opportunity with a museum where she ends up owning, they start to patch up their weird relationship when Tyson gets the idea of merging Mae’s museum with his museums, of course, he being the majority partner, but then Mae throws him a curve ball, how about she becomes the majority partner? The relationship takes a sour detour, again.
