Sometimes what you need the most is found in the unlikeliest of places.
Sienna Campbell feels alone. Her work as a physiotherapist keeps her busy but it can’t fill the emptiness in her heart since she lost her grandfather, the only family she’s ever known.
But when a chance meeting with an eccentric old woman leads her to step through an archway and into fifteenth century Scotland, she realizes she had no idea how truly alone she could be. Captured by a ruthless warrior, Sienna is desperate to find a way home. But there is only one person who can help her—and he’s the very man who’s taken her captive.
Cian ‘Red’ Sutherland has a dark reputation. Rightly feared throughout the Highlands, he’s built a wall around his heart, keeping everyone out. So when a strange woman falls into his custody, he wants nothing to do with her beyond the ransom she is worth. But as Sienna and Cian are drawn closer, he begins to realize she may hold the key to the desperate mission he has kept secret— and also the key to unlocking his heart.
Sienna and Cian must learn to trust each other if they are to succeed. But are the walls they’ve built around themselves too strong to breach? Or will they find love in the most unlikeliest of places?
Katy Baker was born in London to an English mother and an American father. She grew up a stone's throw from Hampstead Heath which remains one of her favourite places in the world. During her twenties she spent several years living in San Francisco where she developed an abiding love of bagels before returning to her beloved London. She lives in south London with her husband and a very grumpy bulldog.
Katy's books explore the intricacies of human relationships with plenty of spice thrown in. What would life be without a little spice?

This is the first book I've read by Katy Baker, and I'm here to tell you ,it was fantastic ! The story starts with Sienna Campbell in Scotland, she is a Physiotherapist( therapist) and at the end of her contract with the hospital after a year and a half .She is so well liked her co workers give her a gift to tour, Scotland highlands, while on the tour Irene MacAskill appears to her,Irene is a Fae(fairy) Sienna is told If she wants to find her true path and the man who is meant for her true mate she should go through the arch. Sienna walks through and finds herself in the year 1411 , Drew MacBane is warrior for Lord John Comyns,at Dun Marreg Castle, and both of them are very cruel men. Drew captured Sienna and wants her for himself, on way to castle they meet Cian Sutherland who is also called Red Sutherland, Cian takes Sienna from Drew and makes bad blood between the two. Cian and his cousin Callum are part of a group called the Order of the Osprey, who defend Scotland from the English trying to invade Scotland.Cian is playing a part as a terrible person who is responsible for very cruel acts because Lord John Comyns who is part of a group called the Disinherited ,who are trying to invade Scotland, makes Cian follow his orders. There is so much action and interege, suspense,in this story I couldn't put it down, the secondary people give so much to this story,I fell so much in love with Cian and Sienna story this author writes such a wonderful book I gave it a 5star rating. I am going to read the first book she has in this series,as this one is Excellent reading. I was given this ebook as a ARC for my honest opinion and this is it,would recommend you buy it I think you will enjoy it as much as I have.
⚔️⚔️ONE THRILLING SMACKDOWN⚔️⚔️ Hopping hounds! Katy delivers this incredibly tantalizing debacle, weaving a cocoon so intricately and precise, luring you deeper into this tangled web, keeping you riveted and frozen to your seat, propelling this jewel to staggering heights. One action packed, hard hitting, nailbiting, nerve racking, spine tingling, adrenaline pumping, block busting bombshell, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated, merging this gem together flawlessly. Broken barriers and crushed perimeters, restrictions are amplified and exploited, reaching deep for every ounce of strength in a fierce surge of preservation, powering through with such determination and vigor, blasting this baby to life brilliantly. The characters, banter, interactions and charged atmosphere are realistic, complex and genuine with traits and qualities, adding depth and diversity, transforming into outstanding personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating one vivid backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Katy, thanks for sharing this thrilling block buster with us.
I love the fun fantasy of being able to travel back in time. Reading is the closest I can get to experience what life could have been like. This series has been wonderful to allow my mind to wonder.
Not only does Sienna find herself sent back in time she gets kidnapped! This story kept you on the edge of your seat because of the constant danger Sienna was in living with Cian/Red Sutherland and Lord Comyn.
As Sienna spends more time with Cian she is realizing he isn't the bad guy. She needs to watch her back because Lord Comyn is who Cian works for. Comyn is a very dangerous man.
As Sienna and Cian become friends they start working together on a plan Cian has been working on to stop the Disinherited. When they find themselves in big trouble they don't know if they will ever be together.
I say this at the beginning of all the reviews of this series....this is one of my most favorite series!! For those of you that have read the other Arch Through Time books, this is Cian's story and where we find out what he has been up to. Of course we see our favorite Fae, Irene and a lass from the present will end up coming across Cian in the past. The story is well written with wonderful characters. It flows so well that you don't even realize you are blazing right through the book. I loved this story and if I had to pick a favorite in the series, this would be it!
Excellent time travel romance. Modern woman Sienna is a physical therapist transported to medieval Scotland. She meets Cian or Red Sutherland, leader of Lord Comyn's group of ruthless fighters. Cian is hiding his true identity and wants to really defeat Comyn for his secret group. Sienna ends up helping him and falls for him.
This is an OK time-travel romance, but I did have a few issues with it.
First off, Sienna adapted to her unexpected time-travel way too easily to believe. I think she would have been a lot more freaked out by it then she was. Also, the highlanders would have been much more concerned with her strange talk, clothes, and medical knowledge than they were. It seemed like they just accepted all her differences way too easily. I didn't buy it.
One thing has bothered me in all the books in this series: The time-traveling characters are always saying things that no one from the century they have traveled to would understand -- but there are often no odd responses or questions from the Highlanders. For example, at one point in this book, Sienna talks about wanting a shower, coffee, and chocolate. If she had actually said that, there would have been so many questions about what those things were -- instead Cian asked her, but it didn't bother him when she didn't answer.
For the most part, I liked both Sienna and Cian, but I did get irritated with them a few times. Sienna was really impulsive, and rarely thought thru the consequences before she did things -- which often got her in trouble. Cian was very controlling and bossy, which Sienna did not appreciate. I get that he didn't understand women from the future were independent, but I was surprised that Sienna accepted his behavior as easily as she did.
I didn't buy that Sienna and Cian were in love. They were definitely in lust, but they just didn't have enough in common for me to believe in their love connection.
I also thought that this story was very similar to the others in the series. There is unexpected time-travel, the h is rescued by a hot highlander, causes trouble with her modern ideas, falls in love with the hot highlander, needs to be rescued again (usually multiple times), and then everything ends in an HEA. Many of the scenes, like the love scenes and wedding scenes, are also very similar in all the books in the series.
The story was mildly entertaining, and I did like Irene -- so if there are more books in the series, I will read them. But I probably would not continue the series if it wasn't free with Kindle Unlimited. Because of the issues I noted above, it gets 3 stars from me.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Best book yet in the series. Sienna is brought back in time to a more dangerous situation than any of the previous heroines in this series. She is so occupied trying to stay ALIVE, she hardly has time to think about getting back to her own time. Surrounded by thugs, thieves, and murderers, she has to be mentally alert at all times to keep herself out of life or death danger. It is quite awhile before she learns that Cian (Red Sutherland) is not what he seems to be. A real nail biter ending, having you wonder if either of them will survive. Katy is a great storyteller. She paints a picture of each of the villains so well you can't help despise them. Another one of those "I couldn't put it down" books by Katy Baker that I read in less than 2 days.
Sienna Campbell has felt alone since her beloved grandfather's death so she takes a job as a physiotherapist in Glasgow. On her last day she meets an eccentric old woman who gives her a message and later runs into the woman before walking through an arch and into fifteenth century Scotland where she runs into trouble. Cianci "Red" Sutherland rescues her but then claims her as his. The Red Sutherland has a reputation that's known even in the twenty first century but Sienna soon sees behind the mask. As they learn to trust each other, they soon realize that they must work together to defeat a great evil and they learn that true love surpasses time.
I absolutely love this series and this book is no exception. The book's well-written with well-rounded characters, some of whom you'll like and others you won't. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. The book's full of action and intrigue as well as romance and suspense and you won't want to put it down. The author keeps the series fresh with each book and I'm really looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series. While each book could be read as a stand-alone, you'll get a better feel for the characters if you read the books in order.
This series really amazes me. This is the 14th book and everyone has been more entertaining than the last. And they have all been very enjoyable. Plus, there are still links to previous books where the different characters have some family ties. And this one is no exception.
Sienna Campbell lost her grandfather a year ago. Since then, she has been working in Scotland for a year as a physiotherapist. And her year has just ended when she meets, wait for it, Irene MacAskill. Then it's off to the 15th century, where she meets ‘Red’ Sutherland, a very rough man working for a evil outlaw lord. The way they storyline is written, you feel like you understand what is happening only to find yourself even more intrigued when the storyline goes in a different direction.
And it is all beautifully written by Ms. Baker. I highly recommend not only this book but the entire series. And it's the perfect series to read, or listen to, during the current never ending pandemic.
I received an ARC from the author and this is a voluntary review.
I loved this opposites attract, time travel romance. The story had the perfect balance of humor, love, real life issues, danger, intrigue, and spice. Sienna is a PT who is just completing a year’s contract in Scotland. She is lonely after losing her only family member last year. She is taking advantage of a two day tour of Scotland before returning to America when she steps through an arch and back through time. Cian is a highlander known as the ruthless Red Sutherland in the 15th century. He has also had dealings with the old woman who brought Sienna through the arch. Once Sienna is captured by Cian, to get to their HEA, they’ll have to both unpack some baggage, take leaps of faith, find their inner voice, and do a bit of life course correcting all while trying to stay safe in a den of violent men. The well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. This is my first book by this author but it won’t be my last.
I really enjoyed watching the characters navigate such challenging times. The touch of magic and foresight that Irene infuses into the story while trying balance the evil of the dark fae is always intriguing. Sienna is a modern day woman with extensive health/healing knowledge dropped into Scotland during a time of great political upheaval. Cian seems like the harsh bloodthirsty bully that history portrays him as -yet there is something about him that doesn’t match his reputation. Of course, Sienna is intrigued. I enjoyed the suspense, political maneuvering and infusion of magic amidst the characters’ personal awakenings. An enjoyable read that kept me turning the pages right to the end.
A h with zero common sense or sense of self- preservation, very little romance until the end and please let’s not mention the historical plausibility.
The fact that this h was transported back to the 15th century and still openly spoke as if she was in 2020-something killed me. She’s telling everyone who will listen that’s she’s a physiotherapist and that they have grade one ligament tears… babe please be real and consider the CONTEXT because your life depends on it. Let her be burned for witchcraft honestly 🤷🏼♀️
Safety: No history given, no virgins as far as I could tell. No ow or om drama.
I am really enjoying this series. Time travel, my favorite genre, is a great item in this story. Modern day girl thrown back to the 15th century. Oh to dream..
Sienna and Cian (Kee-an) keep us hopping with their tales that are dark, funny, light, and highly addictive! My only comment that could be construed negative perhaps is how the final scene in every book, thus far, plays out the same....yet still love these books!
I loved this series of books! Each book was so captivating and I was immediately drawn into the storyline. The author is a truly gifted writer! I cannot wait to read more of Katy Bakers works!
I loved every minute of the story. I’m usually not attracted to time travel, but this book was excellent.!! I think everyone should read it for fun, who like historic romance novels n the highlands
As Irene MasKill visits Sienna in the future and has her to go to the past then visits Cain in the past. She tells them to help save the Highlands. When all is done they have to make a decision.
