This box set contains 'Baking Me Crazy' and 'Batter of Wits' by Karla Sorensen.
Baking Me Crazy, Book #1
I'm Levi Buchanan, and until five years ago, I thought the legend of my family's curse was a load of crazy, Southern nonsense.
No curse can make you fall in love at first sight. No curse can force a true, deep, passionate, all-consuming love that will haunt you all the days of your life.
Then I met Jocelyn Abernathy and I realized how completely wrong I was.
The problem is, Jocelyn guards her feelings like well-armed soldier. She's the most beautiful, stubborn, infuriating woman I've ever met. Every time she talks, I want to kiss the living daylights out of her. But I can't.
Because when we met, she didn't need true love. She needed a best friend. And that's what I've been to her... for five years.
But when Jocelyn meets a handsome stranger her first day working at Donner Bakery and she lets him buy her a dill pickle cupcake, I realize with ominous regret that I may have missed my window with my best friend.
If I can't get her to see past our friendship, my new curse may be to watch the love of my life move on with someone else.
‘Baking Me Crazy’ is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone.
Batter of Wits, Book #2
Hate at first sight couldn’t possibly exist, right?
That’s what Grace Buchanan thought, before her useless car stranded her on the side of a deserted road just inside the Green Valley city limits.
When Tucker Haywood—tall and handsome and full of southern charm— shows up to help, her reaction to him is the strongest thing she’s ever felt in her life, and it makes no freaking sense.
It doesn’t make much sense to Tucker either. Not why she hates him, or why he finds her so intriguing. He knows well enough that Grace is moving to Green Valley for a fresh start, not to distract him when he’s got no room for something like her in his life.
The complications between them are endless, but that doesn’t stop her definitely not love-at-first-sight feelings from changing into something else entirely.
Grace and Tucker are about to learn the hard way that in Green Valley, hating someone has never tasted so sweet.
‘Batter of Wits’ is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed both books in this box set. Book # 1 was friends to lovers #2 was hate at first sight lol. I’m really enjoying this series. I’m hoping Hunter gets a book along with Joy from book 1!
Baking Me Crazy - Levi Buchanan is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He never believed there was really a Buchannan curse - Buchanan men fall in love with their soulmate instantly upon meeting the woman they will not get over. That is until the day that Jocelyn Abernathy knocks him on his rump when he notices her at the basketball court. But Joss is not ready to date as she is still coming to grips with being in a wheelchair after an infection, so Levi takes the higher road and becomes her best friend. Can he break out of the friend zone and become her soulmate? Or will the Joss walk away when his true feelings for her are revealed? This book had me laughing out loud and wiping tears from my eyes. Totally heartbreaking and yet heartwarming at the same time. The reader just wants them to get their HEA.
Batter of Wits - The Buchanan Curse has followed the Buchanan men for generations. Each and every male has found instant true love and has gone on to forever happiness as long as they have stayed within Green Valley. But when Grace comes back to stay with family she does not fall instant love - she falls in instant hate! Can the curse be reversed for the females in the family? Is hate the only emotion she can muster? This was one of those books that made me laugh out loud. Perfectly timed and with awesome characters, Karla Sorensen has once again written a masterpiece that the reader will love. There will be no instant hate for Tucker by any reader.
I love the way that Karla Sorensen writes. I love that her men are always so swoony!! And her women are always bada$$es!! This best friend to lovers book is unputdownable. It’s a must read for any romance lover.
The first time Levi Buchanan saw Jocelyn Abernathy he fell. And he fell fast and hard. The Buchanan curse was in full effect. The only problem was that Joss wasn’t in the mindset for a relationship so she chose friendship instead. Levi never let Joss’s wheelchair get her down or in between them. Five years of best friendship was about to change when Levi could t hold it in any longer. Everyone knew but the most important girl. Now was the time to let her know.
We follow as these two finally let feelings come out. We watch as Levi finally tells Joss and we watch as Joss tries to navigate her new found feelings. And what a beautiful, sweet and sexy ride it is.
I absolutely loved this book, I didn’t want to put it down once I read the first page. And neither will you.
Highly recommended.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite sub-genres and what an amazing story we get! Karla has taken us on a journey of finding a love like no other.
I throughly enjoyed this book. Great characters. Great story line and an amazing journey of finding the loves of their lives.
I want to start off by saying that I really did enjoy these books, they were very thorough and well written. I did find myself a few times surprised at the length of each story, but perhaps that speaks more about the books I have read previously If you’re looking for some good, clean books to read I’d recommend these for sure.
Tucker & Joss. Grace & Levi. This two book bundle was a pleasure to read. The characters and stories are another Karla Sorensen hit for me. She has a way of writing that pulls me in and gets me invested with her characters. Now, I have to see what happens with Grady and Magnolia!
