Michelle Wilson’s one goal in life was to become a top journalist at the local paper back in her hometown of Cedar Springs, AR. But on the way to bringing that dream to reality, a life-changing wreck interrupts Michelle’s plans and adds an orphaned baby into the mix. Now, she has tough decisions ahead—did God put her in that accident to save baby Grace? And if so, why is it so hard to convince everyone else she should be the baby’s new mommy? Greg Marshall has been Michelle’s best friend his whole life. He’s thrilled she’s moving back home, but not so sure about her sudden desire to be a single mom. His feelings for her have grown through the years, but she’s never seemed to notice. Can he help Michelle with the adoption and grow their relationship at the same time?
Amy R Anguish grew up a preacher's kid, and in spite of having lived in seven different states that are all south of the Mason Dixon line, she is not a football fan. Currently, she resides in Tennessee with her husband, daughter, and son, and usually a bossy cat or two. Amy has an English degree from Freed-Hardeman University that she intends to use to glorify God, and she wants her stories to show that while Christians face real struggles, it can still work out for good.
When Michelle Wilson is involved in an two-vehicle accident that takes the life of a young couple and leaves their infant daughter an orphan, guilt and a recurring dream convince Michelle she is to adopt baby Grace. Although she loves Grace, is she ready to be a mother? And what has happened to her life-long relationship with her best friend Greg Marshall? Michelle has some important decisions to make as she begins her new position as reporter with her hometown newspaper. She thinks that her parents and Greg are against her. What she doesn't realize is that they want what is best for her and for Grace. Most of all, is she ready to accept God's will and direction in her life? Although dealing with some important life issues, it's an enjoyable contemporary romance.
I enjoyed this sweet story! It dealt with guilt, grudges, wants & desires - all while keeping a Christian perspective. The author always does a great job in writing the story so that you can picture it in your mind.
There are times in our lives where we are faced with a choice. Which road do we choose? There are many factors that affect, influence the choice we make. Sometimes, we need to take a step back and consider the road we have chosen. A very good friend once told me, "anytime you make a decision, remember, you can always change your mind." Now, we may not think we can change directions or take another road, and it may be hard, but we always need to consider, "is this the direction I should be traveling?'
Saving Grace by Amy Anguish is a book that asks this question. Am I on the right path? Is this God's leading? This book does an excellent and intriguing job of telling a story that we can identify with. Oh, maybe not in having walked the same path with a similar situation, but in the struggle of choices.
This is a book that should be on your reading list this fall/winter. It would make a good book club read and includes questions for discussion and thought at the end.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher without the obligation to leave a review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Was going through my TBR pile on kindle and started this book only to realise id read it before. Only instead of putting it down in favour of all the other books waiting for me, I wanted to read it again. Such a special book. I love that he fell first and has been in love with her for years. They are best friends, but friends that tell the truth even when it hurts (except how much he loves her of course!). She gets in an accident, where only she and baby Grace survives. She wants to adopt the baby, but why does no one else thinks it's right when she knows it right! It's a great book. Well worth the read.
Nothing works out the way Michelle thinks it will, and that's oaky. Sometimes it takes the unexpected to shake us up and help us realize the pictures we've created for our lives are actually keeping us from the awesome works of art God wants for our lives. Amy does a great job of showing readers the wrestling match that can happen when our plans and God's plans don't connect. And there were so many moments in the story that I could feel Greg's emotional highs and lows as if he were sitting right beside me. This is my favorite story yet by this author. I look forward to what comes next.
A manager friend of mine at my local grocery store suggested I read this book months ago because he knew the author. I put it on my to-reads list, hoping to get to it soon. I wanted my book club to choose it bc we have a genre where we pick a local author. This book unfortunately didn’t win the vote. And after 3 duds of terrible books, I picked up this one. I couldn’t put it down. What a beautiful story how God can take tragedy and turn it into good. And from personal experiences I know that to be true. So, I loved “Saving Grace” and plan on looking into the authors other books she has out!
This is a well written book that holds your attention. It is so much more than a romance, it's a story about forgiveness and what true love looks like. Michelle and Greg's story has just the right amount of drama and romance to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. This is a wonderful inspirational book that you don't want to miss. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Scrivenings Press LLC and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
What a spectacular book! I was taken in from the very beginning and was lost in the story the entire time. So many times I thought I knew exactly where it was going only to be surprised in the next page!
I adored this story and found myself laughing and crying and cheering every step of the way!
A dramatic wreck scene begins this realistic, contemporary love story. Readers will connect with lead characters Greg and Michelle as they struggle through some true-to-life issues of the heart. Well-written story contemporary readers will greatly enjoy.
I really enjoyed this book. The story line was great. I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters that she created. I also enjoyed the Christian theme. I highly recommend this book.
