The starship Pioneer’s voyage is coming to an end, and it won’t be like anything the passengers or crew could have imagined.
If any of them survive to see it.
Pioneer needs to reach the Forge, but the Forge is surrounded by the enemy’s massive fleet, which is preparing to launch an assault that could leave the station in ruins. Keesha works to repel the attack, mounting a defense she can only hope will keep them all alive.
Light-years away, Joseph and Max have located Preslan and Tyson. While finding them was relatively easy, getting to them won’t be. It’ll take all of their skills and ingenuity to recover the prisoners and escape. Even that might not be enough.
The challenges are mounting. The odds of success decreasing. Time is running out. The passengers and crew of Pioneer are in for the fight of their lives and win or lose, the Universe may never be the same.
M.R. Forbes is the author of a growing number of science-fiction series including Rebellion, War Eternal, Chaos of the Covenant, Stars End, and the Forgotten novels. Having spent his childhood trying to read every sci-fi novel he could find (and write his own too), play every sci-fi video game he could get his hands on, and see every sci-fi movie that made it into the theater, he has a true love of the genre across every medium. He works hard to bring that same energy to his own stories, with a continuing goal to entertain, delight, fascinate, and surprise.
He maintains a true appreciation for his readers and is always happy to hear from them.

I liked where the book went, but I dont like how we got there.
Ultimately I loved the first 2 books in the series, the following 3 however were of lower, varying quality.
M.R. Forbes just put too much into this series. It felt like he just threw every topic he could think of into the series halfway through and hoped it would stick. Which it didn't, an unfortunate series of events for a series that was so promising.
A poor end to a series that started well. All over the show, too many ideas trying to be incorporated. I found myself skipping & skimming plenty of this book unfortunately, some of the characters , like Preslan are insufferable & the book has far too much superfluous text. Not one of Mr Forbes best works.
I don't know why I show that I have not reviewed this book? I know I have read it though. I always give a review when I finish a book. I read so much I found it was hard to keep up with what I have read...so by giving a review I can always look back and know if I have read the book. Plus I want the author to get his\her review.
I've now read the whole series of books abs this was as enjoyable as the previous installments. The way all the story lines meld into one is the key to the book working so well. Great characters, action packed, plot twists and emotional connection to the lead players. Lead to a great reading experience.
As the Axom attack the Forge, old friends and old enemies come together. Fast paced, consistently solid writing wraps up this series with a thriller that keeps you turning pages until the end. Well done.
Awesome end to a very good series. As usual a story that keeps you interested all the way to the end. Looking forward to reading more of this Authors stories.
I enjoyed the series up to the last book. I did finished reading it though because I was invested already. There were to many copies of people which made it a little difficult to read. Differently hurt the flow of the book. He has quite an imagination that helps to keep his books interesting. I do recommend to read.
