I worked three jobs to save up enough money to join my boyfriend in Alaska. But when I show up a week early to surprise him, I’m the one who gets the real shock. I find him in bed with another woman. Heartbroken and too broke to fly home, I apply for a job at a hunting lodge instead. I might be in over my head, but it has nothing to do with the strenuous workload. My boss is the hottest man I’ve ever laid eyes on. I want him bad. But unless I can convince him I’m more than some spoiled city girl, I don’t think I stand a chance.
Lane
When my brothers and I inherit our uncle’s hunting lodge, we thought we hit the jackpot. Hunting, fishing, guiding, trail rides—all that we can handle. But since none of us know a thing about running a lodge, I’m split way too thin trying to keep up and also build my cabin. When Kiera answers the help wanted ad, I think she’s going to be more trouble than she’s worth. But I’m unable to tell her no. This could be a problem—a big problem. Everything about her keeps me awake at night. It doesn’t take long before I realize I have to make her mine.
Sweet & steamy short story insta-love romance with an older mountain man and younger curvy woman. NO cliffhangers. NO cheating. Guaranteed HEA.
Quick and short, with instalove. This could have been a full novel, the premise was just that good. It's hard for me to rate short reads, simply because they move so fast I don't get to bond with the characters over time. But this was cute and I can't wait to read the other five brothers' stories as well.
A hundred lifetimes wouldn’t be enough with her This book is about Kiera and Lane. Kiera found that Alaska was the most beautiful and terrifying place she’d ever been to. Her intention was to surprise her boyfriend Drake with an earlier-than-planned arrival, but all THREE were surprised! So she was then in need of a job and somewhere to stay. As Kiera makes her way up the mountain for a job interview at a lodge, she comes across a moose, and swerves into a ditch to avoid a collision. She then grabs her bag and starts to make her way up to the lodge by foot, and hears a car pull up. The gorgeous man that’s driving it is NOT what she expected. His hotness is slightly extinguished as he gruffly asks her why she’s there, and with that unsuitable car. Despite this, she can’t deny how attracted she is to him. He offers to give her a lift the rest of the way so that she doesn’t miss her job interview. She questions him about whether he thinks she’s cut out for life in the mountains, and he blatantly tells her that he knows she’s not! Kiera is pretty angry with hos this stranger has simply dismissed her abilities and grit, and asks, “Just who do you think you are, anyway?” When he introduces himself as Lane Harrison, her heart sinks. That’s who is meant to be interviewing her! Kiera pleads her case and promises that she the hardest worker he’ll ever see. He’s in a pretty desperate position, so agrees to a week’s trial, thinking that will give him time to find a suitable replacement anyway. He not only thinks she may not cope with the workload, but he’s also struggling with the magnetic pull and attraction he has for her. He doesn’t need or want the distraction. Lane and his five brothers inherited Mountain View Lodge from their uncle. For the few weeks they’ve been open, they are all sharing ALL of the jobs around the lodge, so they really need someone to better manage and complete the tasks in an efficient manner. That way, the brothers can focus on their specialist roles. Lane had gotten in strife before when he slept with the wrong woman, and his brothers were determined to make sure he doesn’t make the same mistake again. But the chemistry they share is powerful. They both find it difficult to keep things purely professional. They’re so drawn to each other. So sharing their first kiss before they’re interrupted in the janitor’s closet, only cements their upcoming and inevitable struggle to not give in to their insatiable desires. There are dramas, jealousy, possessiveness, misunderstandings, and familial mateship and support. Kiera and Lane are sweet, passionate and steamy together. I was sad to see this quick read end, but I know we’ll see more of ALL the brothers in the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see what happens with Mr. Stick-in-the-mud Dylan in book two. I give this book four and a half woodsy stars. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
He was building a cabin for a family only he didn't know it until he met her
Lane is the first book in the Harrison Brothers in Alaska series and what a family this is going to be. There are six Harrison brothers and they are all big, handsome, sexy, sultry, built, smart and oh so much more. This is the story of Lane Harrison and Kiera Minchaels. For Kiera things in Alaska are not quite going as she expected. She had followed her boyfriend up to Alaska from the lower 48, having working three jobs, overtime and scrimped and saved to get there sooner than they had planned. Well the surprise was on her when she found him in bed with some bimbo. As she had purchased a one way ticket and without the funds to get back home she is in need of a job quickly. Unfortunately the second situation she has found herself in is that it is difficult to get a job when you don't have a permanent address and you can't get a permanent place to live without a job. So she finds herself driving up into the mountains to interview for a job working at Mountain View Lodge. That is if she can get there with a moose in her way and her compact rental in a big ditch. Lane is the oldest of old six brothers. They all inherited the Mountain View Lodge when when their uncle died. Unfortunately for them none of the existing staff wanted to return without unrealistic demands. So each of the brothers has taken on several jobs in running the lodge. Now though they really need someone to take over the inside work of running the front desk along with laundry, cleaning and some cooking. That way the rest of them can deal with the other duties that they have been neglecting.
This book is filled with all the wonderful things you expect from a Kali Hart story - witty banter, sparking chemistry, sexual frustration, some drama, some romance, a lot of longing, great internal dialogue from both main characters and a lot of deliciously sinful sex. I really loved this first book in the series and am looking forward to reading the other brothers stories.
La serie se basa en la vida de 6 hermanos quienes heredan un lodge en Alaska, ellos son los propietarios y lo administran, cada libro es sobre un hermano diferente.
Kiera has worked hard for months at three jobs to save enough to join her boyfriend in Alaska. Unfortunately he has been spending the time cheating on her. Dejected, mad, and broke she has to find a job to save up to go home. Her last hope is a lodge in the wilderness looking for a clerk. Her initial meeting with Lane, her boss goes baldly, but she is desperate and begs Lane to give her a chance. Attracted to her he reluctantly agrees to hire her, but he’s a real jerk about it. Hoping she fails he gives her the tasks of three employees, Kiera used to hard work and desperate does all the work without complaint. Not able to fight his attraction Lane gives in and sleeps with Kiera. Worried his brothers will give him a hard time he hides his relationship from them. He does this because he had slept with his previous bosses daughter and things had ended poorly for him. The brothers all like Kiera and want her to stay. Lane, who you are lead to believe is a manwhore, really does love her but before he can tell her they are interrupted by one of his brothers and she overhears them talking about Lane’s sleeping around. She decides she can’t work for Lane anymore and asks one of his brothers to give her a ride to the airport. Lane realizing she’s left chases after her to explain and profess his love. Epilogue one year later with them married and expecting a baby. I didn’t like Lane’s character and not sure other than physical attraction what they liked about each other to fall in love. I can understand Lane loving Kiera, she was a hard worker and a nice person. But Lane was an ass so not sure what she saw in him.

I kind of loved this short story. I was entertaining and enjoyable with how sweet yet steamy it was. The characters were interesting and likable although it took me until the end of the story to like Dylan. I hope the other brothers get a book of their own. Dylan needs one with a woman that will lead him on a merry chase! Kiera was brave when she decided to travel so far even though things didn't turn out how she expected. Her determination to get a job and keep plugging along impressed me as well. Lane surprised me with his attitude at first but once I knew why he acted the way he did, I decided that I liked him. He was impressive with his denial of his own feelings but protective and possessive of Kiera anyway. Kiera and Lane giving into their feelings for each other was hot. There was a little drama but it resolves quickly. Their happy ever after made me smile. I recommend reading this book.

Kiera saves up so she can make it to Alaska to join her boyfriend only to find him cheating on her. Alone and no money to leave on she applies for a job at the lodge. She ends up in a ditch when she swerves to avoid an animal and when a car drives up she takes a ride. Kane is driving when he sees Kiera not knowing that she's the one he is supposed to interview until she starts talking to him about things. Soon sparks fly between them as he tells her that she isn't cut out to live there. However Kiera talks him into letting her try and do the work and show him that she's a hard worker. Will Kane see that she's the woman for him? Will Kiera get tired of everything and leave?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was a good story, but it would've been better if we didn't have to hear over and over again about his past conquests. And the drama of the story didn't make any sense? He made a one time mistake of having a consensual ons with a co worker and the lil tramp got mad because he didn't want more than the agreed one night? I don't like the H's screwing around with just anything...but, he is grown. Why would his brothers all have such a huge issue with it and be so mad? She was nothing but an easy lay for a night, why are all his brothers loyal to her over him?? Dylan made it sound like he did something horrible to the last woman and so easily forgot her... It was never explained, and since they all kept yelling at him, and warning her against their own brother... It should definitely have been explained!! If that stuff had been left out, it would've been a really good story with a less confusing hea.
Kali Hart has become one of my must read authors and this book only confirms that reasoning. Ms. Hart has a way of drawing her readers into the story from the 1st page to the last with her fantastic storytelling and world building, and that's not easy with a short story. Her characters are so delightful that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Lane and Kiera's story is one of finding your soul mate when you least expect it. This story has everything that you could want; comedy, drama and of course hot romance (it is a Kali Hart book after all). You really don't want to miss this delightful gem of a book that sharts off the Harrison Brothers in Alaska series and I can't wait for more of the other brothers.

Lane is the first book in Kali Hart’s Harrison Brothers in Alaska series. In it we meet Kiera Mitchel and Lane Harrison. Kiera worked three jobs to earn enough money to go to Alaska to join her boyfriend. When she arrives, she discovers he has another girlfriend. Now, she is penniless, jobless, and homeless. She needs a job and answers an advertisement for a position at Mountain View Lodge. The Harrison brothers run the lodge. There are six Harrison brothers and Lane is the oldest. The Mountain View Lodge is secluded and while traversing the roads avoids hitting a moose but wrecks her rental car. Lane comes across her and rescues her. Reluctantly, he gives her a chance. She manages all the tasks and gets along with the brothers. Lane is attracted to her but fights it. Will Lane and Kiera end up together?
I enjoyed Ms. Hart’s romance. I liked her creation of her lead characters. Both experienced romantic pains. Each are caring. I enjoyed Ms. Hart’s skill in penning strong conversational and internal dialog. I loved the witty banter. I appreciated the sparking chemistry between Lane and Kiera. As a first book in a series, Ms. Hart includes the other Harrison brothers. I am looking forward to reading more about them in this series. Well done, Ms. Hart.
For the start of the series, Lane and his brothers have taken over the running of a resort in Alaska. Needing help, Kiera applied and showed up for an interview, not quite making it to the building as a moose crossed her path and the car went into the ditch. Lane stopped by and took her to the lodge. She starts working with him and running the inside, while the brothers run the outside excursions, fishing, etc., and the cooking. Things start to skyrocket for Lane and Kiera, trying to keep it under wraps from the brothers and guests. Suspense fires up as she overhears a conversation... but not all of it, before she ducks out and tries to flee. The ending is perfect and I can not wait for the next story of Dylan.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book! Lane is the first book in the ‘’Harrison brother’s in Alaska’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Kiera gives everything up and moves to Alaska for her boyfriend, it doesn’t go to plan. Broke and stuck in Alaska, she gets herself a job. Lane doesn’t have time for love but when he hires Kiera will he be able to resist her? The chemistry between Lane and Kiera is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series

Lane is taken aback by Keira and knows it is a mistake to hire her, but he just can not deny her the job. Keira is smitten with Lane upon seeing him. Things get heated and steamy in this story. It is insta love. Lane has his own previous issues so he is leary of his feelings. Will they get together? Or will the past keep them apart?

Great start on a new series with the Harrison Brothers and their resort in the hills of Alaska. When Keira goes to surprise her boyfriend who has moved to Alaska she gets a big surprise when she walks in on him with another woman where she leaves with no money to a interview for a job at a resort owned by Lane and his brothers but gets stuck in a ditch and it is Lane that comes to her rescue. He knows right off the bat that she will not work out but gives her one week to prove herself which she does with flying colors but his other problem is he is extremely attracted to her. Loved this short steamy romance with a alpha male and a curvy woman.

Kiera is in Alaska after moving for her boyfriend. When she catches him cheating she has no where to go, she likes Alaska so she decides to go interview at a lodge for the front desk job.
Lane needs this interview to go well, he and his brothers are doing all the work and it is too much. When he unexpectantly meets Kiera before the interview he knows he can't hire her. There is no doubt she can probably do the job but can he keep his hands off the beauty?
Kiera has made the biggest mistake in her life or not! When she arrives a week early to be with her boyfriend in Alaska, she gets the surprise thus leaving her ex. Only having a one-way ticket leaves her scrambling to find a job and place to stay which takes her to a lodge that is hiring and provides room and board as part of the package. When Lane first sets eyes on Kiera, he is captivated and that only makes him angry because the last time that happened, he lost his job. Hiring Kiera will impact not only him but his brothers as well. Will he run the risk and see where fate leads them?
Oh yes, thats easy to do. Alaska, hot lodge owners and a woman who has worked very hard to be punished for it really nasty. Good that she meets Lane. He makes the right decision and hires Kiara. Great protagonists and Insta - Love compete with the beautiful wilderness for the readers hearts. Great short story

The first in the Harrison brothers series starts off with Lane and Kiera finding a smoking attraction to each other. Love these characters as Lane tries to fight his feelings and Kiera won’t be used as a side piece. Like how the brothers help and cause trouble at the same time. This was a great start to this series set in Alaska with six brothers starting off with the Lane the oldest.

A cute short romance. What a way for Lane and Kiera to meet. There is an undeniable chemistry between the two, and they are such wonderful characters that you really want them to be able to reach their HEA. This story was entertaining and enjoyable, and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
This is a wonderful way to begin a new series. The chemistry between Lane and Kiera is hot enough to start a Forest fire.
I’m looking forward to Dylan’s story.

But it seems their past have put a roadblocked in their love life. And a man in love wont let anything stand in his way to get the woman he loves. Its so romantic.
