There is some interesting content in this book, but the whole premise of the book is essentially that everything the medical industry does to help you is actually hurting you and you need to go through the author's (paid) program if you want to be healthy and free of pain. I have no doubt that there is some merit to the program, but in many ways this book is simply an attack ad on the medical industry to try to convince the reader that physical therapy is the answer to every pain-related issue.

In my experience physical therapy can be just as damaging as any other treatment. Pain is such an individual thing that it is difficult to generalize, and naturally every care provider believes their solution is best. I think there are some valuable insights here, but I seriously doubt that program is as magical as it's made out to be for everyone. For some patients I'm sure it's really helpful.

The author is a physical therapist so her recommended solutions primarily involve physical therapy and also to a large extent proper diet and water drinking. I don't think she's necessarily wrong but this reads a lot like an infomercial for the system that works best by her. Since I don't have chronic pain and haven't checked out the web sites, I cannot verify the results. I read this book because I am curious about how the body works and do know people who suffer from severe pain. I'd like to avoid that as much as I can. The few pains I do have do feel a lot better once I get up and moving. However, I don't think pain is severe unless it interferes with sleep which is not typical for me. My rating is 3 stars because I don't like infomercial type books. I do believe the author's sincerity and do think people don't eat wholesome foods or move enough.

she shares only her knowledge

This could be a better book if she were to provide some exercises or techniques that are helpful for certain problems. All she does is drive home the fact that body movement and motion problems exist and can be relieved through correct body work. All 13 chapters worth of driving this home nothing more.

Well written easy to understand

Explaining how the parts of the body work with each other is complex and a bit overwhelming, likely the reason training in the modalities takes so many hours to grasp. Eileen does a great job explaining in laymen terms and provides many resources. Her passion for teaching pain relief without drugs or surgery is refreshing in a medical world that is more about financial gain than true healing. I originally checked this book out of the library, but then purchased my own copy to study and for the resources.
