"Jack & Jool" is a good-feeling, lighthearted romantic genre that is entertaining until the very last page. Jack Collins and Jool Grey are childhood friends, and one can arguably say sweethearts, but alas they both hold back their true feelings from one another. When a distinguishable Captain enters the picture and tries to win Jool's hand it sets the wheels in motion for these two estranged lovers. Admittedly, it was entertaining to see Jack's reactions to the Captain's courtship, especially when he realizes he may have left things a little to late in asking for his dear friend, Jool's hand. The story-line was rather predictable, but it did not detract me from reading it until the end. I wanted to read a warmhearted novel set in the Regency period with a strong heroine and this novel did not disappoint. I would recommend this to anyone that loves Jane Austen, and simply wants a book with an all around happy ending.

Jack & Jool is a lighthearted Historical Romance. I enjoyed the development of friendships, the story of Jack & Jool. I love Jool’s spitfire personality, how she lives by her own code and rules; because she is a kindhearted woman who shows her love and knowledge in ways different for the time period. What can be considered as defiance and or acting out, is Jool’s way of being her own person in this world. Jack’s acceptance of Jool is beautiful.

While parts of the novel are difficult to get through, the end result is worth it!
