Oh my goodness I don’t know where to start ... I have never read anything like this .. the scripture came alive along with foundational truths to build your life upon !!! This book debunks all myths and worldly wisdom and replaces it with wisdom of God and all His promises for life and godliness !!!!! Thank you for this work and revelation of God !!! I experienced a healing of the Thyroid and much more by grace through faith in Jesus Christ ! I am so grateful and give God all the glory !
I have read this book 4 times and about to go again. This book is absolutely life changing and freeing. Every time I read this book, God shows me something new that I didn't see previously. I will continue to re-read this book as long as God keeps showing me things.
I think the message of this book is quite simple and profound. I was just getting comfortable reading when I realized I was at the conclusion but I definitely get the message.
If you are looking to get closer to God this is a must read. The Lord is so smart, we will get closer to him by doing something such a praying 3 times a day over my food. This book will not tell you what to eat. You just have to read it.
As a Christian and fitness professional I can say it is completely true... our health is more than what we eat or what workout we do... it is Him who will truly transform us!
I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a totally different perspective. I find it sad that the law just didn't work, and we are free from it but continue to try to place ourselves under it. We have freedom, Jesus died for our freedom. I want to reread this again.
This was very enlightening look at diet, making our eating to focus on what Jesus has done for us rather than satisfying our flesh. I really enjoyed this book!
I liked this book because it has a lot of scripture and fun facts to add to the lessons he is teaching. This book is for someone who wants to be closer to God to understand the Lord's Supper and to partake of it daily to grow and be your best for God and His kingdom.
This book is easy to read. The advice is solid and straightforward. Usually, these books can be overly religious, but this is not. It is practical and appeals to a belief system that is not overzealous. It will make very good sense to all Christians.
Everything you need to know is in the Word of God. What I love about this book is that it guides us to the topics we have overlooked while reading the Bible.
The Jesus Diet: Health and Wellness Through the Power of The Lord’s Supper
If you read this book you should do so while praying for discernment. Read it with your Bible handy so you can read the scriptures in their original context. In that respect I didn’t want to give the book a bad review. However, I was stuck when it came to the statistics given going on and on. So much of the book truly has good information but as said before you need to pray for discernment because some information could be misleading if taken the wrong way in understanding.
Thank you for following the Holy Spirit and writing this book. I have a wellness clinic and I want to have several copies of this book to share with my patients. I received freedom from gluttony while reading this book and I want everyone to feel the freedom that I feel. God is so good!
A book of Christian faith and not much practical information
If you like the idea that christian faith and devotion can make any food the correct diet for you, then this is an excellent book. I was disappointed as I thought it may contain references to actual biblical diets that could be helpful.
Honestly I didn't read whole book. But because author is taking verses out of contects (like passage to Peter in Acts 10- it is not about diatery law as author suggested), it's not accurate biblically. So it is not the diet which Jesus will recommend.
This is the best diet, not diet book you will ever read. It taught me do much about the things in the Bible that I thought I understood. Wrong. Please take the time to read this book. You won't be disappointed.
I had actually been pleasantly surprised with this book and it's outlook on dieting. Though not 100% on board with it's philosophy I had had little to complain about while about 24% in.
At that point I found a more significant problem. Sacraments. His definition of a sacrament is "a religious rite or ceremony." Says that different churches recognize different sacraments but the universal 2 are baptism and the Lord's Supper. He then goes on to say that he doesn't view the Lord's Supper as a sacrament. The problem is that "sacrament" implies imparting of grace. No Bible believer should use the term or believe in a sacrament as it is unscriptural. Grace is imparted by God in Christ and there is no such thing as a sacrament. Baptism and the Lord's supper are ordinances [no saving grace involved so this is not just a matter of semantics- this is essential doctrine]. They should be observed as a matter of obedience to God for specific reasons but they do not help you get to Heaven in any way.
Then the book started making illogical leaps and unsubstantiated claims about food issues. They might use a scripture to bolster their view but it was obvious that they were reading into the verses what was not there. Poor exegesis. I would not recommend this book to anyone. Where it might be helpful other books say the same thing without the danger of the misrepresentations of doctrine.
