Two bullets. That’s all it took to change Taggart Wilde’s life.
His wounds have healed, but his career as a police officer is over. Struggling to move on, Tag is looking for a new purpose, and ends up finding it in the most unlikely of places.
Jolena Miller’s passion is fixing up classic cars. As the owner of her own garage, she’s convinced herself she’s happy just being one of the guys - unnoticed and unremarkable…Until she meets Tag.
One look at the curvy mechanic has Tag’s engine revving, and he is determined to make her his. But just as Jo starts to believe they might have a future together - her ex-husband reappears, threatening her business, her happiness, and even her life.
When pushed to the edge, can two lonely hearts fight for a future together, or will the past be too much to overcome?
**Publisher’s Note – This book was previously released with another publisher under the same title. It has been lightly edited, but the story remains the same.
Susan lives out on the Canadian west coast surrounded by open water, dear family and good friends. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef. If the world ends, she plans to survive as the spunky, comedic sidekick to the heroes of the new world, because she’s too damned short and out of shape to make it on her own for long.
Writing is her joy, her escape from reality and the only way she knows of to quiet the nagging harridan of a muse the universe assigned to her.

"You and me, we're going to happen, angel. We've already happened. You just don't know it yet."
4.25+ STARS! I read Wilde Edge directly after reading the first book in the series, Wilde Chase, and I have to say, I liked them both! Both can be read as stand-alones (dual POV) but do share supporting characters and if you plan to read both books, start with the first in the series, they are sequential.
The hero, Tag, is much more alpha than this brother Ben was in the first book and the sex was hotter. It's not erotica but it is quite steamy for a contemporary romance. There's not alot to this book in terms of development (it's a novella) but what there was, worked for me. Instant attraction/love, a sexy, protective, growly alpha, and a smart but hard on herself woman who needs a good man to make her feel sexy again... a quick story that scores big as a purely guilty pleasure read. Did I mention that Tag is super protective and growly... oh yeah, I did =)
Unfortunately, I have the same complaint for this book as I did on the first book and that is the price. I'm trying out a monthly subcription service(SCRIBD)so I was able to borrow both books for free. If I wanted to buy Wilde Edge from Amazon today, the price is $4.99 for 110 pages. Ouch! I think a $0.99 price is more appropriate and would allow more readers to try out this author. I know several of my GR friends would enjoy this short, fun read but not at that outrageous price.
That being said, I'm totally hooked on this series and am so glad that there are 5 Wilde brothers. Two down and three to go. Maybe they've got some cousins that can be added into the mix too! No idea on when the next book will be released but I'm defintely looking forward to it.
I loved it! I am short on time. I will reread these many times. They are good stories. They have a good mixture of story along with spice & funny to keep it moving. I love it.
Wilde Edge is the second book in the Wilde Brothers series by Susan Hayes. While this book can be read as part of the series, it may also be read as a standalone novel with ease. I chose this book because I have not read this book this author before.
Taggart Wilde’s life is at a crossroads. The career he thought he would have changed with two bullets and now he is looking for a new career. Taggart has to move to a new apartment and that’s how he meets Jolena. Taggart is a great combination of sweet and alpha.
Jolena Miller loves working on cars in the garage that she owns. While her first marriage ended in disaster she is not over men. She is wary because her ex keeps popping up even when he is to stay away.
The chemistry between Taggart and Jolena is scorching. The fast pace of their relationship was believable due to how many common interests they both shared. They have many common interests it makes me wonder why they did not meet sooner.
This book was very well written with an interesting plot. While the ending was somewhat predictable, the journey to the end was wonderful. I loved the mix of suspense and romance. The main character and the secondary characters were charming. I will be picking up the rest of the books in the series. Overall, this was a fascinating book.

I had read Wilde Chase and I loved the book so I decided to read the 2nd book in the series.. Taggart Wilde was a cop like the rest of his family until he was shot while undercover. The doctors told him he would never be able to work in the Chicago police force. While he is looking for a place to live his brother tells him to see Jo the landlord. Taggart meets her and wants a relation with her. Her ex husband tries to hurt her and his training comes into play. I loved this story. It tells you that no matter what happens to you, you can always change your life.
I have no problem with people working in roles unusual for their gender. However, frequently I don’t feel like the author really adequately conveys a true sense of the job and how the unusual gendered character deals with it. That, however, I am happy to report, is not the case with Wilde Edge. I loved Jo and her love of classic cars.
A) the author had to throw a pregnancy in the mix. SMH
I don't get the latest phenomenon of getting the h pregnant within a few weeks/months of the relationship. I really really don't get it. It rather ruins the book for me.
B) the "I love you" said by the H within a week of meeting the h. 1 meeting, 1 date, a weeks worth of phone calls and texts and you're in love. Really? Really?! Gimme a break
I absolutely loved reading this new instalment of the Wilde brothers and I can't wait to read more in this series. Well written fast paced romance with some hot hot hot scenes.
I love this series. The first two books are equally wonderful, filled with passion, action, and most of all love. Come and meet the Wilde brothers and the women they love; they are well worth knowing.
