Write Out Your Drops is an eclectic poetry collection speaking on an array of themes as it pertains to being true to oneself. Selin brings readers on an expressive journey through lyrical verses and graceful symbolism that makes one’s individual experience seem more understood through the collective.
She is not afraid to show her sensitivity as she strings words that resonate with any audience who knows the desire to convey their most inner feelings. The collection speaks on fighting despite the rain, while embracing your tears through the struggles you face, and remaining in tune to the melody of your heart and the blood to which you are rooted.
Selin is a rising literary voice whose work continues to captivate readers and critics alike. With a portfolio that spans emotional poetry and richly layered fiction, she has established herself as a bold and original storyteller. Her acclaimed semi-autobiographical series, The Catalyst Trilogy, unfolds primarily in Norway (where she resided for a while) and skillfully blends supernatural 'urban romantasy' with occult/mystical mystery. The series has drawn significant attention for its nuanced exploration of identity, loneliness, friendships, biculturalism, generational trauma, and personal evolution—all told through an imaginative, genre-bending narrative.
Selin’s signature style is marked by emotional depth and sharp insight into the human condition, weaving stories around characters (who may not be entirely what they seem) and the “coincidences” that spark profound transformation. Her work doesn’t just tell a story—it invites readers to reflect on the unseen forces that shape and 'catalyze' our paths.
The Catalyst received the prestigious 2022 International Readers’ Favorite Book Award, honoring outstanding contributions from both emerging indie authors and established writers. In 2025, Selin garnered further acclaim with an International Impact Book Award for The Elemental Collection, a powerful compilation of poetry fused with non-fiction essays, short stories and a play that have all moved and inspired readers across the globe.
In addition to her literary achievements, Selin has exhibited her framed poetic-work at various art shows and galleries, performed spoken poetry at numerous open-mic events and continues to hold book signings at local bookstores, connecting with readers and poetry-lovers alike.
Firstly, I'd like to thank Our Galaxy Publishing and Selin Senol-Akin for gifting me an eARC for an honest review! I'm really happy and grateful to be apart of their review team.
What I loved about this collection of poetry is how many topics are covered! I really felt that I got to know so much about Selin and her principles. The first section felt a lot like a response to the state of the world right now. I loved how much nature had a role in the poems. After watching David Attenborough's new film, it really felt like Selin's witness statement, which was great to see in a modern poetry collection and really helps me to feel hopeful. From heartbreak to mental health, to family relationships, I was taken on a journey that felt like Selin's life. It is a very honest collection that truly inspired me.
I took it slow while reading this collection because I wanted to savour each poem and really connect with the words. I appreciated this different experiences Selin has been through even if I haven't been through them myself. This meant that I couldn't relate to everything. It's definitely a collection I'll come back to later in life as I'm sure with experience I will connect with different things. I recommend this poetry collection to everyone who enjoys poetry of a wide range of topics!
A beautifully written flowing poetry, holding a mirror to the author’s daily struggles through life, love, loss, roller coaster of emotions and motherhood; we all can identify with. I opened the first page and continued non stop until the end . Easy emotional reading. A book for anyone’s bookcase.
Loved this book of poetry! Selin’s words touched my heart— made me think and feel. They also ignited that rumbling for inner strength and reminded me that all my drops (tears, blood, creative, hope…) matter.
