DNF. Oh hell no. I personally can’t stand stupid characters and right from page 1, we have got a whole panel of clowns. Goes along « I got so many signs and clues to solve my poor husband’s death. Meeh let me play dumb and make a cuppa »

Story about a widow who gets caught up in a kidnapping of a London underground's villain's daughter. OK thriller with a twist at the end. This book for me however was not grity enough for where it is set. I have two main critisms, the first being the swearing. Whether you love it or hate it people swear. In the enviroment this book has been set there would have been a lot more swearing than what is in the book. This does not affect the story line but in real life there woulld have been more. ( Am i been too Picky ?)
The other is that the author was married to Reggie Kray and has gained a lot of knowledge about the ganster east end of London, so I think a lot more of this knowledge could have been used in the book, agian am I being too picky ? Would like to have seen a romance between Jo and Miller. Still an OK read in the vain of Martina Cole but not quite as good.

Good story about the widowed owner of a jewellery shop who finds herself mixed up in the kidnapping of a local villain's daughter whilst trying to uncover the secrets that have been hidden in her husband's family for a number of years. Very similar in vein to Martina Cole but without the gore and bad language.

Not a bad read - the book was billed as akin to Martina Cole - I found it to be softer than that - reading Cole can be like being punched as some of her language is quite graphic. Reading this book was like being mauled by a teddy bear, pleasant but lacking any ooomph! Considering the authors access to her familys archieve I would have expected better.

It took me a while to get into this book, but I am pleased that I persevered as I enjoyed it. For me, it was not as good as her previous books though.
