The Wellington family is ready for another sun-kissed summer at their treasured beachside cottage. That is until the family's world is turned upside down following the unexpected death of the father, Benjamin. Things seem to go from bad to worse for his widow, Bethany, and her three young children when they find out that their beloved second home no longer belongs to them.
The Seahorse Cottage, located on the beautiful shores of Cape May, had been in the Wellington family for generations. But unknown to Bethany, her late husband had lost the cottage as a result of his secret life and the cottage is put up for sheriff sale after his sudden passing.
In a surprising turn of events, The Seahorse Cottage is purchased by the Wellington’s estranged neighbor, who seemingly knew about Benjamin’s secret life. This would only be the beginning of the journey for the Wellington's.
The family is left to mourn Benjamin’s tragic passing, and only later do they come to truly understand the lasting consequences of his secret life. Through it all, the Wellington’s grow closer than ever, ready for whatever troubles come their way.
The Seahorse Cottage is a touching feel-good beach novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat and fill your heart with warmth and love.

The more I read of this series the more disturbed I get. The feelings are stilted and I'm left feeling odd. Bethany is now considering upending the children's lives for a maybe love relationship with a man that she doesn't really know. It's very strange but also very compelling! I have to know what is going on so I can't wait to read the next book but at the same time I don't want to know. The author's bio says she writes feel good books but this feels more sinister. Gambling, bookies, dark cars roaming the neighborhood etc. Definitely have to read these in order and read all of them. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book four of the Cape May series and sees Beth and her three boys, Hudson, Reece and James, go back to their family cottage, the Seahorse Cottage in Cape May, for the first time since they almost lost it the year before after her husband Ben’s sudden death and the secrets that revealed. They are there for the whole summer vacation and for the first week, Beth has invited her boyfriend Quinton to come with them, causing more problems with her boys. None of them were very happy when he first called round to their house in the city and they realised their mother had replaced their father, so soon after his death. Quinton is the lawyer that helped Beth to get her son back into school after the bully’s parents tried to take her to court.
Once Quinton goes back to town and another case, the boys seem to have finally come round to him and are sad to see him go. But then he drops a massive bombshell. He has accepted a job in California, where he comes from and first qualified, and wants Beth and her kids to come with him! This would mean they would be too far away to use the cottage again and would defeat their wonderful neighbour’s lovely gesture of buying the cottage back for them, to enable Beth to continue to give her boys great childhood memories. Now she has to consider selling it all and moving the whole family away from the memories of Ben’s death, to a new city, new friends and a new relationship.
I’m not sure how well this will work out, at such an early stage in Beth’s relationship and with her own bakery business to be considered as well as the cottage and their home in the city, all to be dealt with. I guess I shall have to wait and see what happens in the next book, all of which are really just short stories. I wish this story had just a bit more, as I felt the decision to sell was too rushed and the kids changed some quite angry feelings about her relationship, very quickly. Their whole lives were going to change and this was a very rapid decision and conclusion. I don’t know how this story will continue to be about the cottage, unless it changes its main characters! I shall have to wait and see. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Bethany and her boys are heading back to Seahorse Cottage for the summer. It’s been a year since Ben, her husband, passed away in a car accident. Bethany’s been dating a lawyer, Quinten Blake and invited him to spend time with them at Cape May.
Hudson, Bethany’s oldest, is an observant teenager and is hesitant to have his mother spend so much time with Mr Blake. He wants more family time with just them. But he compromises with his mother and soon enjoys time with Mr Blake.
Bethany and the boys are a bit upset that Quinten needs to leave for work, but he promises to call and chat them when he’s available. He isn’t sure how long this case will be so he doesn’t make promises on returning to the cottage. The boys are even more upset when Bethany tells them Quinten’s taking a job in California.
The protagonist, Bethany, doesn’t seem to really take time to think about this huge decision to sell the family cottage and uproot her three children to move across the country. Will her decision to relocate to California what’s best for her and her children?
A digital ARC copy of The Seahorse Cottage by Coral Harper was provided complimentary in exchange for an honest review. I give this book 4 out of 5 tiaras because Bethany is acting like a lovesick college student willing to move to follow her boyfriend. She isn’t really thinking rationally about this decision as what’s best for her and her children.
This book has more upheaval for the Wellington family as Quinton and Bethany have been dating for almost a year and Quinton has made the decision to move back to California. Beth has to decide what she wants to do as far as Quinton is concerned and of course she has to consider her three children and whether or not she can leave the Seahorse Cottage that she almost lost last year when her husband died. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Lucky it was on Kindle Unlimited. I don't like that they made 6 books that could've all been in one book. That being said, the books were okay. Nothing really excited me about them It was depressing that one person had to go through so much throughout the whole book. I know she came out stronger in the end and found another love but......
Al last, they go to the cottage again, but it feels a little weird staying with Quinton instead of Ben. Beth has to make some difficult decisions that will affect their future lives. Right away to read the fifth part. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a good addition to the series. Interesting and entertaining characters tell a very interesting story. There's some drama that will keep you turning the page. Wonderful story to read.

Well, now we Bethany, on what I consider a whim, selling the beloved cottage, and taking the kids and moving to California, just to see if she and Quinton can make a go of their relationship. Something sounds fishy to me. Hopefully, book 5 will clear some things up.

Enjoyed reading about Bethany and her boys. She started seeing the lawyer who helped her with Hudson's suit against bullies at school. The boys have mixed feelings about Clinton. She has decide what will be the right choice.
The Wellington family's world has changed and now Bethany is determined to find love. Her children still haven't recovered from their father's death. On the edge of my seat:)
I didn’t realize that I was starting with book 4. As promised it’s a cozy beach read. However it’s simple and didn’t feel like a whole book. Very simple.
And this wonderful story continues. Book 4 picks up where book 3 left off so you'll want to read the previous books in this series before reading this one. No spoilers with this review. The story line captivates you from the start and holds you in its grips until the end. The characters are engaging, easy to get to know, relatable and well developed. A perfect series to curl up with in your favorite reading spot.
