The Wellington family is ready for another sun-kissed summer at their treasured beachside cottage. That is until the family's world is turned upside down following the unexpected death of the father, Benjamin. Things seem to go from bad to worse for his widow, Bethany, and her three young children when they find out that their beloved second home no longer belongs to them.
The Seahorse Cottage, located on the beautiful shores of Cape May, had been in the Wellington family for generations. But unknown to Bethany, her late husband had lost the cottage as a result of his secret life and the cottage is put up for sheriff sale after his sudden passing.
In a surprising turn of events, The Seahorse Cottage is purchased by the Wellington’s estranged neighbor, who seemingly knew about Benjamin’s secret life. This would only be the beginning of the journey for the Wellington's.
The family is left to mourn Benjamin’s tragic passing, and only later do they come to truly understand the lasting consequences of his secret life. Through it all, the Wellington’s grow closer than ever, ready for whatever troubles come their way.
The Seahorse Cottage is a touching feel-good beach novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat and fill your heart with warmth and love.

Bethany decides not to sell the Seahorse Cottage and not to move to California, which is where her boyfriend Quintin is moving. Their lives return to a new normal with her eldest skipping a grade and starting high school a year early.
As the school year begins, Bethany focuses on helping her boys get ready for the new school year and encouraging them to continue to do their best. She also goes to her bakery to make sure everything is going smoothly and takes her shifts. Bethany also works on new recipes when she’s home.
Hudson invites a girl from his French class over to learn how to make French macarons. Bethany becomes friends with her mother and offers to take her in whenever her mother has to work since her dad is deployed.
Right when you think life is at a normal steady pace, something happens to this family! This has been an exciting series and I encourage each book to be read in order to make sense of it all! I found The Seahorse Cottage Book 5 by Coral Harper on Kindle Unlimited. I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras because of the intensity of these situations that happen to Bethany and her family! I can’t wait to read the final book!
This is book five of the Cape May series and continues the saga of the Wellington family and their ownership of Seahorse Cottage. Beth has made a final decision about selling the cottage and moving to California with her boyfriend Quinton. Her three sons were against the relationship to start with, coming so soon after their father Ben's death. But they seem to have warmed to him during the first week of the summer holidays at the cottage, when he joined them before returning to work. Beth and the boys have to get everything ready before the end of the summer, and the start of the new school year. Hudson has managed to skip a year and is off to high school and the two younger boys will also be at different schools now. It will be a complex start to the school day and if she continues to work at the bakery, then being home for the end of the school day, will cause some problems.
Some of what happens in this episode of the storyline, may have been guessed by other readers, if they have read the previous short stories in the series. The addition of a female friend for Hudson was a nice touch, but the sudden events at the end of the story were passed over rather quickly for me. There is yet another cliffhanger of an event at the end of this storyline and I shall have to wait and read the last in the series, to find out what happens to them all. Each book is really a very short story of about sixty five pages, so parts of the stories may not be fully fleshed out, but they are all quick and easy reads, with some serious issues in. I would still have preferred all the books to be available in one or two volumes maximum, due to their lengths, but they have all been available quickly, one straight after the other. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of this book above.
A series you can't put down once you start reading. This is one you'll want to read in order since each book picks up where the last one left off. It's a quick read but so much story from beginning to end. Characters you'll love long before you finish the first book. They're well developed, realistic and easy to relate to. A perfect read for those weekend evenings when you want to escape the real world for a tiny bit.

This fifth book in The Seahorse Cottage series introduced a few new characters and some surprising events that resulted in a cliff hanger. Bethany had to decide if she is selling the family cottage and moving her sons to California. This fast paced and interesting book kept me turning the pages and wondering what was going to happen next. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Another interesting chapter in the life of Bethany Wellington. These are very quick reads but they are jam packed with action. I'm surprised Bethany doesn't have perpetual whiplash from all of the changes! This time the Quinton issue is resolved but now Hudson has a female friend who brings some drama. Can't wait to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
After the decision to remain on the east coast instead of following her romantic internet to California, Bethany finds that life and its challenges go on
The boys seem to be adjusting well and Hudson makes a good friend
A few uncomfortable bumps in the road and some unwelcome surprises wait ahead
There is always mystery, tragedy and family when it comes to Seahorse Cottage
This is the 2nd book I've read written by Coral Harper; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

3.5* The saga for the Wellington family continues with a lot of changes coming. It is a shame that this was presented as a series instead of a two book story. Interred to see how it all ends in the final book.

I wanted to like this series and struggled to like any of the ridiculous shallow substance to the end. Nothing was connected. There were a series of totally unbelievable, unrealistic events, none of which made any sense or followed any storyline whatsoever after which the main character suddenly finds true love with someone she hasn’t even dated.
Everything looks well until it doesn’t. Beth was about to make the worst decision ever. Back home after the summer holidays, they meet Irene and her parents. Little they know what an important person is going to be for them. I need to know the end right now. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Book 5 of the series about The Seahorse Cottage is family-friendly, picks up as Bethany is about to sell the cottage, and can be read in about two hours.

The series was quite good. It was distracting to keep downloading books to finish the story. Would have been much better as one book instead of 6! The story line was great or I never would have gone to all that trouble. It is worth the read.
This series of books are really chapters. And it moves so slowly that it's difficult to keep my interest. I just can't go to the next book in the series and that's difficult for me as I always finish books/series. Wishing Bethany Wellington well....
Well liked it or not the soap opera opera continues!! Remember, I do not do soaps😕 Now you will have to read this story from book one onward . Don't want you to miss the most of the story. By the way it is well written, flows well!
I really enjoyed this series of stories. It is the first time of have read a series like so it was sort of adjustment. At times I felt like I was reading a nighttime TV drama with a cliffhanger at the end of every book. The main character of the story, Bethany, was developed over the series. We saw how she grew through every challenge of her life. I am looking forward to reading more of Ms Harper's stories.
