In PRIMARY DUTY, a Supreme Court Justice is taken hostage by a terrorist organization. With a consequential decision before the court, the death of this swing Justice could change the political landscape for decades.

Getting him back, against the backdrop of a massive marvel of engineering, would be mission impossible—a mission that only elite Delta Force veteran Luke Stone, 29, and the FBI’s Special Response Team, may be crazy enough to take on.

Unfortunately I read two of his other books first (Oat of Office) the last one. My error. You should read the books in order, the forging first. Grrr. Good book, good series. I have been listening to the audio version and it is great!!!

This has been the strangest series because we are actually going back in time in a sort of prequel series in Luke Stone's life. Long time readers who have already read the entire Luke Stone series "know" the things that are in store for Luke, heck, in store for the entire country and boy is it a wild ride.

Jack Mars does a fantastic job spinning this tale in a believable way, staying within the multiple storylines that have been established within the complete Luke Stone series. As usual, this book is compelling and keeps the reader engaged throughout the entire story. It is interesting to see the "how" that some of these things began. Without going into spoilers - some of my biggest takeaways from these last two books are getting to see the beginning of some of the later relationships - which directly impact many of the events in the future.

As usual, it is great to see Luke and Ed working together in a way that only these two can. This is also a snapshot of time showing a window into their personal relationships with their wives. Again, no spoilers, but to me, it just reinforces my opinion of a certain wife.

I listened to most of this on audio and I didn't have any issues with the narration. This has been a fantastic series. This book takes up right to the beginning of the "other" series (I think, I might have to double check on that) so I am not sure if there will be any additional books in this "Forging of Luke Stone Series". If this is the last book, that makes me sad. Honestly, I would continue to read ANY book with Luke Stone for as long as Mr. Mars continues to write them. :)

A Supreme Court Justice is kidnapped by a terrorist group just before a crucial vote and no one knows where he has been taken.

Then a high speed train that goes from France to England (the chunnel) is hijacked and the FBI's Special Response Team is sent in to stop it as it is loaded with explosives that may be set off while the train is under the English Channel. When Luke arrives he is a one man show because his French partner has disappeared somewhere on that train. Ed Newsam arrives to help Luke but the train is speeding toward a well known landmark station in London and does not seem capable of stopping before then. But, Luke and Ed have to try everything they can to make it happen.

Fast moving as usual, that is once Luke and Ed move out to do their jobs. The set up is a little slow with wives getting very upset over their vacation time going away because "duty calls".

I am sure many readers pooh-pooh some of the things Luke and Ed do but even if those things weren't really possible it makes for a fun read. I just want to see the bad guys go down in the most horrific way. I am tired of real life terrorists and criminals getting away with what they do.

Great Action Adventure Series

In this book in the forging series Luke and Ed are trying to find a kidnapped Supreme Court justice in Europe. Luke an Ed have to figure out how to stop a 200+ mph bullet train loaded with explosives. I would recommend you read the forging series before the original Luke Stone series.

Good Read with qualifiers

Parachuting onto the roof of a bullet train moving at 300 MPH was, over the top. Particularly when after grabbing a handle, he cut the still attached fully inflated chute with his one free hand. I checked out and quit reading after that. All the Jack Mars series and books I give 5 stars hands down but this was too much.

the last of the series and I did listen to this on hoopla......Easy to blast through the series while doing simple construction on my house/yard. Ed is just as interesting as Luke.

Imala je potencijal ali malo mi je sve skupa bilo nedorečeno.
Otmica suca vrhovnog suda nekako je ostala nedorečena i nepovezana sa događajima nakon toga.
