I’ve never been in love. I’m okay with that. I have my Banks Ink. crew who have my back and that’s a lot more than I had growing up. I have a place I belong, and I won’t do anything to ruin that. I don’t need more than that.
Well, I didn’t need more than that before Bailey Danby walks into the shop. The moment I saw her, with her long black hair and big blue eyes, I knew nothing would be the same again. I just wish I knew that she was there to surprise her brother, Walsh.
Walsh’s little sister.
She’s off limits because I’m loyal to my family and bro code says that I can’t ever have Bailey. I just wish my heart…and other anatomy got that memo.
Bailey
All I wanted was a summer getting to know my brother and the family that he created. My parents made sure that I was never allowed to be a part of the life Walsh worked so hard for. Now it’s the last summer before my senior year of college. The last summer before real life takes over. This might be my last chance to have some fun and get out from under my parent’s judgmental thumbs.
It seemed like a great plan, but that was before I walked into Banks Ink. and my eyes landed on Dex Hardwick. I knew nothing would be the same again.
I just wish he’d stop pushing me away. Does he not feel this thing between us? Is he really going to deny it because I’m Walsh’s little sister? Is the bro code really a thing? Maybe he doesn’t really want me.
I wish his loyalty to his family wasn’t such a turn on, but it so is. I don’t know how I’m going to make it through the summer and then my senior year with a broken heart. I could have everything I’ve ever wanted with Dex. If only he felt the same way.
**18+. If you like alpha heroes and an insta-love story that is sweet but isn’t necessarily simple, then this is for you. This story is safe, no cheating, guaranteed HEA. It is a standalone, but it is the second in the Banks Ink. series and would be more enjoyable if you're caught up. Warning: This story does contain casual cannabis use, but not to worry, they live in a legalized state and are responsible members of society.**
Chronological Reading Order: Protecting His Home (Banks Ink. Book 1) Accepting His Home (Banks Ink. Book 2) Yearning for His Home (Banks Ink. Book 3) Once Upon His Star (Suburban Outcasts, Book 1) Securing His Family (Higgins Security Book 1) Picturing Their Home’ (Banks Ink. Book 4) Catching His Falling Star (Suburban Outcasts Book 1)
Ember Davis loves alpha heroes with a range of emotions, but a strong sense of how to take care of their women. She loves her heroines from all walks of life, just like her heroes, and she wants them to be real and relatable. Her heroines tend to be sassy, opinionated and smart.
Ember is a stay at home mom of two who recently refound her love of books and all things romance and is so glad that she did. She’s always been creative, but writing and creating stories that she would love to read satisfies the dreams she had as a little girl. She loves butterflies, the color purple and enjoying time with her family.
Pssst, it’s totally a pen name, but everything above is 100% true.
Awful H! I didn’t see his love anywhere, as usual, she deserves better than a man who fucks her dressed and then said “ it was a mistake”, It’s not like there’s not enough grovel , there is no grovel at all! is that H didn’t make anything for her in months..., not even a call, A friend tell him “you are a good man”, I disagree, sorry, You know is not good when since the beginning, you don’t want the MC’s together I hate cowards!
OMW this author has done it again, another great book to add to the series. I absolutely loved this book. The storyline was intriguing, captivating, emotional, funny and so sweet. Loved the characters. Dex and Bailey were adorable together, once they sorted all their BS out. They were great together and the chemistry was hot, hot, hot. It was especially nice to catch up with all our favourite people, the Banks Ink, Higgins Security and SO guys. What a awesome family, who wouldn’t want to be part of it. So overall this was a freaking fantastic book, I just loved it. And I can’t wait to read the next one.
This was a good read. Bailey and Dex's story takes you for quite a ride that is filled with many ups and downs. Sweetness, emotion, angst, drama, heat and heart are woven throughout this engaging and well written romance. This is my frank, freely posted review.
The groveling the hero did was PATHETIC, if you're going to spend chapters and chaperts telling me how upset the h is, how shitty he made her feel, i expect at the very least an acording amount of groveling. He literaly gave her staff writen down that he could have told her in person, a minimal action that actually requires CARING ABOUT SOMEONE AND SHOWING IT. He did not ONE thing to gain her forgiveness, just wrote staff down, waited around for her to appear, gave it to her and BOOM, all gone, all those chapters of unnerving "i'm so hurt by him" forgoten. I call bullshit.
Walsh's little sister. That's all that Dex can think anymore when he starts to think about Bailey. The only woman to ever knock him off his feet and make him consider that falling in love isn't so bad is someone who is out of his reach. His family with the artists of Banks Inc means the world to him. They were behind him when his mother was going through cancer treatments and he'll be there for them whenever they need. So he knows that he has to fight and resist the feelings that Bailey stirs up in him because it goes against the "bro-code" for Dex to date his best friends little sister. But is it really what's best for Dex and Bailey? When Bailey leaves after her summer vacation Dex doesn't feel like he can function. He knows he hurt Bailey and regrets that things happened the way they did. When he learns of her plans to be home for the Christmas holiday he knows this is his last chance to finally claim Bailey and make her understand that she is his no matter who she may be related to.
I really liked this one. I'm glad that this one didn't seem to be bogged down with everything Amelia and Beckett like the second one was. If I had any complaints, I really wish we could've gotten to see Bailey's reaction or thoughts on the journal that Dex left her for a Christmas gift. I know we got to see and read what Dex was writing when he did, but I wanted to know more about what Bailey thought of his inner thoughts while she was gone and the drawings he did of her.
If you've read any of Embers books than you already know that this will be amazing! Running 3 storylines at essentially the same time is really had for any writer, but she pulls it off famously. One reviewer wrote about the timeline being wrong but, they either didn't pay enough attention to the story in book 1 or its been too long since the read it, but No...Amelia was not at the 4th of July party, her 1st gathering is at Dexs house and it was fall time cause she wore a burnt orange sweater to that party and it was mentioned it matched the fall colors and she was making hats because it was getting colder. So no the timeline isnt off...Ms Davis is pretty darn meticulous when it comes to her stories and timelines. So if you are like me and like to read reviews before deciding to read, remember to take them with a grain of salt cause some dont take in or remember details very well...which is why eyewitnesses are sketchy at best. Ember has never let me down yet and ive read all her shorter novellas and are working my way chronologically thru the longer, original stories since im alittle late to this party but am enjoying catching up! Thank the lord for KU!!

Bailey and Dex are it for each other but Bailey is the little sister of his friend Walsh. Bailey and Walsh aren't as close as they could be, partly due to their age difference. Her (their) parents actively tried to keep them apart because Walsh didn't fall under their control and live the life they wanted him to. Dex is torn up over the fact he wants Bailey but can't have her. Things go from bad to worse after their 4th of July blow-up. She still has another year of college to get through. Come Christmas break though, he's done waiting and holding back. He's going to make her his...IF she'll forgive him.
This book starts before book 1 but goes through to past the previous book. I am loving this series. The book he wrote to her, wow... tears... bring tissues. The next book in chronological order is book 1 of a different series, so I'm reading them in that order, but I'll finish this series while starting the next two. THAT GRADUATION SCENE! Holy shotpuck!
I LOVE this series and the spin offs. BUT this book is SO far off the first two. Book 1 begins with Beckett stressing over no receptionist. Book one had Beckett and Amelia together before the 4th of July cookout at Troy and Walsh’s house. The Kali’s name was not even mentioned in book 1 or 2. In book 3 she goes home because her mom in sick over the 4th of July weekend. At the beginning of book 1 they had been without q receptionist for two months when Andrea came in for her tattoo where Amelia suggests Andrea as the shop manager. This is way before the 4th of July. By book 3 we should have been aware of who Kali was and not scratching our heads on “how the heck did I miss this person”. In book 3 I believe chapter 3 Beckett has not meat Amelia yet. If books are to be happening in basically the timeline please make the at least consistent. Otherwise the series is amazing!
Dex gets himself very tangled up and shatters Bailey's heart because of this 'bro code'....it has a lot to answer for! But maybe Dex and Bailey need that time apart to truly find themselves, Dex certainly spends the time soul searching and learns a lot about himself whilst also creating the most perfect gift ever. I have to agree with Bailey that all the guys at Banks Ink are like unicorns, a little too perfect...but how nice is it to lose yourself in the Banks Ink dream? A true family who welcome everyone with open arms, I cannot wait for the next visit to them. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
We follow Dex and Bailey’s emotional rollercoaster romance in this next addition to a wonderful series. Family and an abundance of love surrounds this next couple as they fight the connection that is their destiny. I love the drama and glorious heat level between the characters that made their HEA worth fighting for. An easy to follow storyline and great main and secondary characters made this an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to see who finds their HEA next.
Dex and Bailey meet at Banks Ink the summer between her junior and senior years of college. Sparks ignite immediately but are ignored when Dex learns Bailey is Walsh's baby sister and Bro Code must be honored. Time setting precedes the first story in the series so the reader can enjoy again the romances from a different perspective. Finally, surviving separation and other issues, they decide their love is more important than other things!
Oh I just love this series so much! It just gets better with every book! I love that these first three books essentially occurred concurrently. There are so many perspectives. I had kind of guessed about Dex and Bailey and I’m so glad that I was right! They definitely had a rough start but love at first sight is beautiful and obviously you can’t mess with that! Can’t wait to start the next one!
Each one gets better and better. We get to read about Dex and Bailey in this book. Their story broke my heart with the emotional Rollercoaster and things they faced. I loved that we get to still see so many of our favorite characters and the things that Dex does makes me tear up from his self inflected emotions.....
Expectations versus love at first sight? That’s not even a fair question, right? But that’s what both Bailey and Dex struggle with, along with a silly bro code. This story had me both laughing in stitches and crying along with these wonderful characters! Toss in tons of sexy, fun, and swoony moments and this story is AMAZING!!
Dex falls for Bailey the moment she walks into Banks Ink but once he learns she is Walsh's sister he turn unto a Grade A jerk and hurts her at every chance even if he doesn't really want to. It will take courage and opening his soul up to Bailey if he wants any hope of claiming her heart in this wonderful read.
OMG! Just WOW! I love Dex and Bailey, they're just soo good and soo perfect for each other! Such a sweet, steamy and beautiful love story! Soo soo good! It was fun to read too, Walsh and Troy are hilarious together! Can't wait to read more! I absolutly loved it soo soo much!🔥🔥❤❤🥰
This was a wonderful read about family by choice and how they are often more loving than family by birth. The books in this series do a great job of being written to run synchronously without giving any spoilers before the particular characters book.
Absolutely loved book three in the Banks Ink series. I lived Bailey and Dex's story, she is such an amazing woman and I love how she finally shows Dex her happiness is more than the bro code. Amelia was so powerful in their story and this was another amazing edition to the families story.
Bailey is Walsh's sister and has had the hots for Dex since she saw his photo online with Banks Inc. When he first sees Bailey, Dex thinks she is a customer and they flirt. Until he finds out just who she is. No way will he go there — bro code and all that.
Yearning is a good title for this book. They both were looking for that acceptance. Family, friendships, and a strong relationship. This story begins before book 1. However, it spans a few months and melds really well back into the timeline of the series.
