*****5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, a different twist to the genre

*****A thrilling read!

A determined young woman and a disturbed young man clash in the apocalyptic aftermath of a nationwide terror attack.

Grace's dad taught her survival and self-defense, then sent her away to college hoping she'd never need those skills. All he wanted was to give her a fighting chance if something bad ever happened to her.

Then it did.

Near the end of Grace’s freshmen year, coordinated terror attacks take place at dozens of locations around the country – including on the campus of Grace’s university.

Grace and her father barely have time for a single rushed phone call before they lose signal. With her roommate in tow, Grace embarks on a treacherous journey home and ends up in the crosshairs of another desperate traveler -- a seriously disturbed gamer who sees nothing but opportunity in a world that now resembles that of his favorite video games.

Locker Nine #1 - Grace Under Fire #2 - Compound Fracture #3 - Blood Bought #4
The usual bad guys are at it again, plotting and scheming to destroy the Evil Satan. Turak was the organizer, recruiting men to go to the United States to work in food trucks. The men all had restaurant experience along with other more valuable experiences. Furass was the man with the plan recruited by the Islamic Imam. Furass’s father, Victor owned the company of food trucks, Kabani & Sons that Furass ran for him. He would use his father’s company for his nefarious plan; a worthy plan. On another front, Syrian refugees entering the United States were causing protests and in some cases riots, especially on college campuses. The attack went off as planned. It is truly a great day. Furass received his reward. Two college students, Grace and Zowie packed from the dorm and headed out. Grace’s father, obviously a prepper who wrote preparedness novels, had prepared her for any disaster. She had a key to a storage unit, Locker Nine, that would help her get home which was six hundred miles away. Book #2 continues with Grace on the trail home, her father trapped in a surrounded compound, more new characters, and more trouble for all. Book #3 was predominantly about the compound surrounded by the opposing force. Plus additional intrigue. Book #4 is about Robert and Sonia returning home to Damascus. Unfortunately, the force that was turned away from Arthur’s compound is now on its way to Damascus. Brandon, a Special Forces sniper came with Robert and Sonia for support, which would be a valuable asset. The Hardwicks, Sonia, and Brandon prepared for an assault. The battle for the Hardwick Farm ensued. I think this story was excellent and I’m glad I was able to purchase it for the complete series.

From Beginning to End... Awesome
Franklin Horton reeled me in from the beginning with the way he set this series into motion. This was not the typical doomsday scenario, although it was probably far more realistic. The characters, while many, are well-developed and diverse. Some are easy to love. Some are completely abhorrent. Then there are some that you just can't seem to peg...

The full series is definitely the way to go here. Start at the beginning and binge on this masterwork of death, destruction, defiance, loyalty, honor, and survival. Perfect for fans of the genre and for those who just like to dip their toes into the genre occasionally.

A Realistic Post-Electric Journey

Wow! I really felt like I was experiencing each person's point of view once the electrical grid ceased functioning in the U.S.

The author has carefully constructed real scenarios with those afflicted forms of mental issues.

As a retired counselor, he did a great job of presenting each point of view.

I loved the Protagonists, and love of family, friends and Hope.

Well- written and Thank you for taking the time to explain in Action, why the crazies do what they do in a fair manner.

Great read!

So what happens when you’re a famous author of apocalypse books and the end of the world as we know it actually happens? And your daughter is hundreds of miles away at college? Well, you’ve used your contacts and knowledge over the years and made sure she has every advantage you can give her to get home.
Follow along as Grace and her family try to survive an EMP event, battling terrified survivors, thugs, greedy congressmen and anything else you can think of.
I enjoyed reading this one!

Mission accomplished but it came at a price

This series didn't disappoint. A terrorist attack puts the U.S. on edge and most Americans are not prepared for the lack of power, clean water or normal transportation. Those that are prepared need to hunker down and be prepared to fight to keep everything they own. And so it all begins...

Not just another good book…

Tightly written, close friend and family bonds, and a dash of Mad Mick! Could have used a bit more Mad Mick, just sayin’. If you’ve not read that series too, you’ve missed out!

Good series

Overall I enjoyed these, although book 2 came close to making me quit reading. Several of the characters did truly stupid things, and I had trouble believing they'd have done them. Books 1, 3, and 4 were good though, and I'm glad I stuck with them.

Unexpected turns!

Never heard of this series, glad I found the package deal, zipped through them, and was surprised by all the plot changes. Most books are very predictable, not these!
