Roca Springs might be a small, boring Texas town. But it’s my town. I’m about to graduate high school and I plan on spending every second of my summer break at the local motocross track. I need the lowkey vibes of a dirt bike track because my best friend is too stuck on her boyfriend to hang out anymore, and after royally humiliating myself in front of my crush, I have no desire to date any time soon. Dirt bikes are my passion. Not guys.
The last thing I need is for disgraced motocross star Liam Mosely to show up. He was kicked off his professional race team for being a stuck up, cocky, arrogant jerk, and after spending one day with him, I can’t say I disagree.
The guy is trouble.
But he’s also super hot.
Something tells me this summer won’t go according to plan.

O.5 Stars. Short book. It took me less than an hour and a half to read through it. It doesn't end at a cliffhanger, but it ends abruptly and is left open-ended. The story was too insta-love. I mean, the guy walks into a store, cuts in front of a girl in line, and then instantly falls head over heels over her. Then he can't stop thinking about her, and the girl goes from hating him to being his "friend" too quickly, all the while wishing she could date him. Ugh. Some people may like it, but I think it just was not well-constructed at all. It just was not my type of story.
The characters were shallow. I did kind of like Bella, sort of; she was okay, I guess. But I didn't like Liam, and the whole thing with Brent at the end felt like the author just wanted to throw in some drama and create a climax. The story needs more work; it just does not work out. Nothing is developed well. I'm not going to read the rest of the series. It's not worth it.
When I started this story, I was not aware that this was a "true" series, meaning this is not really a standalone story. While it doesn't end on a real cliffhanger, it is still sort of open ended.
While the motocross scene is definitely not my natural habitat, I had fun dipping my reader-toes into this world.
I liked Bella - and especially her relationship with her best friend - and also how Liam owned his mistakes.
I'm not sure if I'm going to read the other books in the series, though.
I liked this book and how the characters developed a friendship but the they both knew that it was bigger that they were actually falling in love (at least he said it) but they knew that he was leaving and she just didn't want to get her heart broken once he was gone which was really sad because you have to give everything for a chance of love.
What I don't like is that they break the story into different books (why?)
I enjoyed a bunch of this book - the motocross elements were fun, and I liked them meeting and the development of their friendship. I liked the main chatacters, in particular I think the author did a great job developing both her and his/their personalities and having the reader connect with both characters.
I found myself liking the book less as it progressed. I was not a fan if the elements with the brother/the history that existed there, just seemed unnecessary to me that he arrives to throw a wrench in the story. I felt like there were already enough elements and his involvement seemed unnecessary.
I also really struggle with books that feel incomplete - this was not a cliff hanger but it also kind of was? It is supposed to lead you into wanting to read more (and it looks like there are several books in the series) but it did not entice me enough to read more / it felt incomplete. I fully understand how and why authors do this with the first book being free... but it always leaves me irritated. I don't want to feel coerced/required to read the next book. Write a full book and write it well and i will happily purchase the next one! Hope that makes sense :)

This was a cute short read! It was nice and fluffy, and I liked the characters as well. Bella and Liam were both adorable and I loved the whole plot revolving around dirt bikes and motorcross. But… the one thing I wasn’t expecting was some cuss words (particularly only forms of the a-word) and I didn’t like that. So if you’re looking for a book with no spice than this fits into that category , but if you’re a person who also dislikes foul language in books as well then it might be better to just stay away from this book. There wasn’t a bunch of cussing but it definitely left red flags in my head. In conclusion it was a cutesy read and I really wished I could finish the series, but in good conscience I just can’t.
Rating - 4.25 stars Age Rating - 13+ (mild language, some kissing (mildly descriptive), no spice, some innuendo) Genre - YA Contemporary Romance
This is all I can manage to write right now. I just got back from a trip and am brain dead, but I will try to finish this review when I can actually make coherent thoughts.
Y'all my book was like falling apart and riddled with spelling mistake and I was like go off ig. Anyways I actually really enjoyed this as like a lil activity. Like its a nice book for when you don't want to watch a movie, but don't wanna invest in like a thick boy book. I actually really simped for this book more than I would like. I'm ashamed. Part of me wants to start motocross now FOR WHAT like I even looked into the bikes SOMEONE STOP ME
Bella and Liam’s relationship was so cute. I loved how they started out slow and built up to a more romantic relationship towards the end of the book. This book really shows how fear can control you and reading about Bella and her fears can help readers who are struggling with the same thing. And the protectiveness from Brent was cute, gotta love the brother-sister bond.
What is the point of writing a romance novel if nothing comes of it in the end?! In the second book do Bella and Liam stay together?Do they stay friends? What about her brother Brent?
These are the only questions that come to mind after reading this book. It was absolutely amazing. However if you hate cliffhangers and don't spend money on books... Then don't get it!!! This series is addicting! I am not aloud to spend money on the tablet which includes books. I'm dying to know what happens next but will probably never find out!!!
So be smart. Also, don't say you weren't warned. I hated the ending, because... I can't get the second book.
Otherwise it was absolutely awesome. I loved the beginning and the plot, and the characters, and the setting was pretty good, too.
A very very short book. I literally finished this in 1/2 hours.
I didn’t really love this book but it isn’t something I hated either
I thought this would have gone down a different plot path then it did. I found it to be very fast paced and it didn’t really seemed to have a strong underlying plot. It lacked character depth and background, I personally like more on the characters so I can relate and become lost and more involved in the plot. However this is the first book out of 4 in a series so it may just be a slow start.
However for me I won’t be reading any of the others. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Bella loves racing motocross and she just so happens to meet pro racer Liam Mosely, who is sent to her hometown of Roca Springs for punching other motocrossers. It's not long until they become friends, however, they both know that nothing more can come of their relationship since they are both leaving at the end of the summer.
The characters were easy to love, and their hesitation to not ruin their friendship was understandable. There was a small twist I didn't see coming near the end but I think that it was needed to bring Bella and Liam to where they needed to be.
When the book ended, I wanted to know more about them.
I want to read the next book. I enjoyed that both main characters are in the motocross world. Bella uses it as a pastime while she fears racing. Liam is the bad boy who got in trouble while trying to make a name for himself. They even each other out although Bella wants to fight it. Bella fights it until something might be happening between them. I can't wait to continue reading this series.
1.5⭐️ i tend to enjoy ya books even tho it’s not my primary genre anymore but this one was not it. very much “she’s not like the other girls” vibes and he definitely thought highly of himself. the writing wasn’t great, lots of errors and overall very wattpad. i can’t even really say it was that cute because the ending was left open for the continuation of the series.
Meh. It's great but it's a series and I kinda like how it ended it was simple and easy and I loved it so I won't read the next ones but if you want something easy to get back into reading, I suggest this!
I really enjoyed this story. I felt I understood the characters, and really liked them. I did not enjoy the errors. Proofread the book before publishing. I would read the next book if that happened.
One of the things I loved about this book is that these YA recognize they are just starting their adult lives. Also, they both struggle with self esteem and the lessons they learn from their mistakes.
i actually liked it. i forgot this came out back in 2019, that explains the whatpadd vibes i was getting. overall it was nice. i wish it was longer. i wish more happened. that we could’ve seen more of their friendship starting to form. and i wish she had a better girl best friend
So this was a free read on my kindle, so I thought why not give it a chance. I do need to say that I had read a lot of reviews saying it isn’t good so I had a low expectation.
But actually it’s soooo cute like soo soo. It’s about Bella a girl who loves dirt bikes but is scared to race and do like other things and then you have Liam who is a professional rider who visit the town for the summer and he helps her like improving and everything. It’s sooo cute and I loved that he was so sweet towards her so yeah I would definitely recommend it.
Favorite highlight:
-“It doesn’t have to start out as something special,” I say. “I can make it special.”
I loved this! I couldn't put this down. Can't wait for the rest of this series. I loved that Bella is a strong independent young woman who overcame her fears of racing.
