Eight teens with extraordinary abilities are born on Earth. Unless they can stop an enemy that has plagued them through the multi-verse, they will die before their nineteenth birthday.

Sixteen-year-old Chloe Carmichael wishes someone had explained this sooner.

In Finding Me, if Chloe doesn't start to recall her past lives, she may never become Chloe, or this other chic everyone wants her to be. And if the Great 8 don't find their enemy, the future Chloe longs for may be at the bottom of an unmarked grave.

In Enlighten Me, Seventeen-year-old Chloe's chaotic world hasn't changed much. Except now, Amanda-the-terrible gets a deciding vote on what happens. Chloe/Amanda struggles to shed the image of who she was so she can build a life with Chris. Except, old enemies and bad habits keep surfacing, drawing her into a life she left behind and a love that she can't hide from any longer.

In Becoming Me, with full knowledge of her past, Amanda can claim a future for herself. Except she can't dissociate from the love she feels for those meant to be her enemy. She forges ahead, despite her fears, in search of the one thing that will thwart General Faraday's plans of global annihilation. But this act requires her to surrender the person she loves even more than Chris to General Faraday. When the time comes to make the sacrifices, will she fold under the pressures of love, or will she find strength in the Great 8?

These are the adventures of eight teens as they work to stop an enemy that has been after them. Time is ticking as they will die when they turn nineteen if they can’t stop this enemy. These gifted teens must also save the world. I enjoyed this action packed adventure. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This trilogy includes the books Finding Me; Enlighten Me; Becoming Me; and the companion novella Finding Her. A story of eight teenagers on their sixth and final dimension on Earth, in what they believe to be a battle against the great evil of someone they nicknamed ENO – Enemy Number One. They have lived through a number of lives in different dimensions, always together, until this last event, dying when they reach their eighteenth birthday and being reborn again. They come into their memories of previous lives and their powers at about age twelve. This time Phillip, Raja, Jill and Scoot have ended up in Florida, whilst Joe, Sam and Chris have ended up in the colder north. But one of their number is missing. Amanda isn’t at Monroe High School with the rest of them. They are all seventeen now, so time is running out. Chris is still searching for Amanda, his soul mate and true love over many dimensions. He can’t give up on finding her, she is the key, the strongest and most powerful of them all! He has one more chance and that is to persuade his Earth parents to send him to Payton Prep.

On his first day he overhears gossip about the Queen Bee of the school and her quarterback boyfriend Zack, who has been caught cheating on her. The girl in question is called Chloe, so not his Amanda. That is, until he bumps into her in the school office and realises she is his Amanda, but for some reason she can’t hear him in her thoughts, nor he, hers. He has to figure out why she hasn’t come into her powers like the rest of them and how he can get her to realise who she really is, without scaring her off. She gets a vision of Zack dead and runs out of the school in shock, to find out it hasn’t happened yet, but it does shortly after! She has to pretend to grieve for a relationship that was fake and set up by her parents but he was a good friend. She feels an almost electric attraction to the new boy in school, Chris, but her mother in particular would not condone a new relationship, so soon after her supposed boyfriend’s death! Chloe’s father is in the Senate and there is not much love between Chloe and her mother. Chloe in this dimension, is a very timid and scared character, nothing like the strong and committed person Amanda is.

She has to begin to learn how to live with her past incarnations, as well as her present one, as she meets the rest of the Great Eight, as Chris calls them, to help her know when it is the real him that she is talking and interacting with. Especially after a late night visit by who she thought was Chris, to only find out it was the shape shifting ENO himself! She finds out about her real mother, who has been keeping an eye on her throughout her time in this current life and holds a lot of secrets about what their real battle is and who is behind all their upcoming problems. Her real father is a General Faraday, who is eager to create global and universal annihilation, for only his people to be left alive on Earth. There is also a traitor within the eight and someone is not at all what they seem.

This is a complicated storyline, as at first you believe these teens to have one goal, to defeat this ENO figure, but then it expands into so much more. It may be confusing to start with, but I was completely drawn into the story and wanted to see Chris recover his lost love Amanda and gain her help to fight their unknown foe. The story goes across the galaxy, as different dimensions and their true origins are revealed. More people are drawn into the mix and family suddenly expands unwittingly, with quite a few surprises and twists. One man’s need for power and complete dominance is the true reason behind their fractured lives and may be far too strong to overcome as they have always hoped. The teens all have unusual powers, from being able to read each other’s thoughts and emotions, some can shape shift, others are fierce and well trained warriors, but their original roles were always as Peacekeepers. Once you get started into this collection, you will definitely be drawn into all of its complexities and the relationships between all the teens and how strong they have to be. I would recommend this to all who love a complex storyline and lots of twists and turns, as you go through each book. I was t sure what to expect when I read the blurb for this series, but I was pleasantly surprised. The books were well-written the characters grew throughout the set, and all the action, suspense, drama, intrigue, and romance brought the storyline to life. This was a very intriguing read and I hope to see more from this author.

I have read a lot of young adult fiction and, unfortunately, this was about the worst. I only persevered because I had committed to reading and reviewing the trilogy. The prose was poor, if I never read about a smirk (especially a sultry one) again it will be too soon and the whole story is just way too complicated. There are far more twists and turns than necessary and it just felt like it was trying to be like the Pittacus Lore series and failing, badly. So sorry but I wouldn't read this one.

This is the book series that made me an author. I’m eternally grateful for these characters.

This series is ultimately about the struggle of the main character, Chloe/Amanda to self identify. She understands her place within her family but she has not forged a path of her own. This book series takes you on the journey as she discovers who she thinks she is and who she ends up becoming. There are lots of romance, physical battles, betrayals, and twists to keep you turning the page until the end
