Wait for the Obsidian Order. Find the Horseman. Don’t fall asleep.

I just found out someone royally messed with my brain, and now I don't know what to believe. The man known only to me as Calder didn't unlock my memories, he implanted false ones.

The Obsidian Order didn't send me here to kill the Horseman; I had been missing for so long, they thought I was dead.

My whole reason for being at Harrowgate was a lie, but now I was here, and things were starting to get really dangerous. Inmates are dying asleep in their cells left and right, the guards are terrified to fall asleep, and no one has seen the Horseman in a week.

The Horseman is the only one who I think can help. I need to find him, but I also need to make sure I don't fall asleep.

Otherwise I could end up being dragged out of here in a body bag.

This Devil of Harrowgate is a fast paced urban fantasy romance by an author constantly praised for bringing a touch of freshness to the genre. If you're looking for great action, steamy romance, and a twisting story that's not without it's sharp edges, scroll up and pre-order now!

*Thoughts*

Dawn Strider is the third installment in author Katrina Martinez's The Devil of Harrowgate series. Things have changed for Six. She's recently been told by her friend Azlu, who is an Arachnon, that Selene and the Obsidian Order thought she was dead. They didn't send her to kill the Horseman, the man she has fallen for, instead, she had her memories twisted by a man who has since disappeared. Six came to this realm 10 years ago. Since then, she's been incarcerated for a crime she didn't commit, enslaved by a group called the Crimson Hunters, manipulated, and abused.

I don’t care if this is a spoiler or not, because SQUEE! This story is a big cross-over with the Obsidian Order and Wardbreaker series. And I loved every moment of watching these characters interact. However, my emotions are so jumbled at the end of this book. I don’t know whether to scream, cry, rage, or something else. There are lots of revelations and changes that take place in this book, and all of them leave me desperate to find out what’s going to happen next.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

I just finished this third book in the series, and I am not happy!! Why not? Because I want the next one RIGHT NOW! LOL! This book is a wild ride of action, mayhem, steam, and suspense. I love the plot which I can’t really say much because I don’t want to spoil the great surprise in this one. The devil has really grown on me, and I can’t wait until he and Six are together…well, more together. HA, I can’t explain that because again, spoilers. This is the best book yet, and I can’t wait to get the next one to find out how Six will solve this latest…problem. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

OMG this is definitely a series worth reading. With each book it just gets better and better and once again I was sucked into the story. Inmates dying in their sleep, guards to scared to sleep, bad stuff really does happen in the dark! There’s action, adventure, intrigue, mystery, death and twists and turns and let’s not forget our kick ass female and friends! A fantastic, fast paced urban fantasy romance that you will not be able to put down so pick them up and start enjoying them now!

‘Dawn Strider’ is book three in Katerina Martinez’s The Devil of Harrowgate series. This book continues on from ‘Dusk Stalker’ and finishes on a massive cliffhanger. So be prepared to scream, rant and rave about this ending. Recommended for mature readers as there is steamy scenes between Six and The Horseman.

Six’s mission to assassinate the Horseman is a lie, she was never sent to Harrowgate by the Obsidian Order. She’s been missing presumed dead for the last 6 months. Being lied to, memories planted in her head, and stuck in Harrowgate as a prisoner is not Six’s only problems, there is a monster lurking in the prisoners dreams and people are dying.

Oh no, oh no, ho h*ll freaking noooooo!!! That ending is a K*LLER!!! To make things worst the next book in the series isn’t available... ok so if you continue to read this review, please bare with me as my mind right now is all over the place and I am having trouble wrapping my head around the events of this book that this review might not flow or make a lot of sense. Plus I’m trying to avoid spoilers.

Just when Six thought that she had a handle on her life in Harrowgate, she gets delivered major news from The Obsidian Order that has now changed everything she thought she knew about why she was inside Harrowgate. Plus on top of that she now has to try and stay awake or the Devil will get her in her sleep. Six has so much thrown at her in this book, her trust and faith are tested the most in this book as well.

New characters and POV are added to this book, if you haven’t read books 1 & 2, stop now, go get them and read them. Don’t worry about what is going to happen in this book till you’ve read the others.

I have no idea what I’m going to do in the meantime, I have to wait several months till the next book is available. I don’t know how I’m going to manage, I already have so many questions and scenarios in my head.

Well done Katerina Martinez for this exceptional series you have created. Please, please don’t make me wait too long to continue Six & The Horseman’s story.

Dawn Strider is Katerina Martinez’s latest book in her Devil of Harrowgate series and this book is gripping and hard to put down. This installment picks up where the last left off with Six learning some hard truths…someone has messed with her mind…more than just what she originally was lead to believe. No, this is some serious high level messing and the truth is almost hard to swallow. She’s been missing for months and presumed dead, and the man she knew as Calder…he’s implanted false memories in her head before he mysteriously disappeared. Now…there is some dark and dangerous haunting the halls of the prison and inmates are “dropping” dead. Now, Six is on a mission to find out the truth behind it and stop the creature before it comes for her…again.
Dawn Strider is a truly thrilling novel that brings the “devil of Harrowgate” into the story in full force. This book, for me, was a real page-turner as the characters are faced with something that they can’t take on in the physical realm. Falling asleep is almost guaranteed a bad idea when this “devil” is on the prowl, and the stress it puts on the characters really elevates this story. Things get really intense for the characters quite often and I couldn’t get through this book fast enough to find out what was going to happen next.
Now, the author takes this book as an open opportunity to bring in some familiar names/characters and give readers a huge reunion. When so many familiar names make appearances in this book I nearly fangirled out. LOL! I was thrilled to be getting more of them and see them come together and fight. There is a twist in this book, and while I managed to guess where it was leading my jaw still dropped. Prepare for a cliffhanger, of course. It’s not an intense, edge of your seat cliffhanger, but it is a cliffhanger that leaves readers with something to look forward to.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book is really well written, and I enjoyed reading Six’s latest addition to her “trials” inside of Harrowgate prison. I love that the “devil” is truly being tied into this story and I can’t wait to read what happens next. If you have read this series to this point and enjoyed it then I encourage you to pick this book up, and find out what happens next.

Oh this third book in this series was utterly fantastic! I just loved it and could hardly put it down. So much happened in this one that I am so glad I waited for the whole series to be released before I started to read them. So many secrets are revealed, the romance heated up a few notches and Six finally gets what she wants!

After being in the hole for a week, Six returns to her cell to find everything and everyone in D-Block has changed. Everyone, prisoners and guards alike, looks haggard and red eyed - none of them dare sleep because of what they may find in their dream state. Luckily for them all Six, Amber and Azlu are willing to risk their lives to find out once and for all and try to find it a way to overcome it. Not so easy as all that of course. And the Horseman can't help much either, although his story is very intriguing!

This was a very fast paced, well written book - there was no time for anyone to stop and sit for a while once the going got going! It was a great read and the best of the series so far. I can't wait to read the next one now to find out what is going to happen to them all, but especially to Six and the Horseman now!

Six has found out that her memories are false. That someone messed with her head. Six decides to get sent to the hole. Six is removed from the hole and things are not good in the jail. Everyone is under attack from something that is stalking them.
Six is able to defend herself and finds out what the beast is. She is also told her that Seline is coming to get her. Six believes that is a bad idea. Things are going to get danger for Six and the others as the fight with the beast ramps up.

This author will pull you right into this story that will hook you. This story is over before you are ready. The relationship with Six and The Horsemen, her new friends and the others. It is the moments with Six and the Horsemen that will grab you and not let go. That ending will leave you feeling so many different emotions.

Dawn Strider - Epic

Well done, book 3 is as captivating as the other two and I love the characters. Six has really come into her own and has found herself in a sticky situation with Azul and the Horseman. These characters are amazing, well developed and highly enjoyable. Placing herself in lockdown at the end of book 2 really made her come to terms with what she has to face. There are a lot of turns in this story and it keeps the reader totally engrossed in the story. Highly recommend.

Such an absolutely amazing addition into this incredible series! Dawn Strider kept my attention from beginning to end, with a storyline that pulls you in and doesnt let you go. I absolutely loved the character relationships that continued to build in this book and seeing characters we havent seen in awhile come back to play a big part in this book was amazing. I am so looking forward to see what happens next.

If you enjoy a story that you cant put down, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and takes you on a ride. Do yourself a favor and read this series, you wont be disappointed.

I am still stunned, but there is a frantic NEED to know how this will resolve. This book is as good as anything else I've ever read from Katerina Martinez (which would be everything else she's published) and that is no faint praise. This author can weave a story that comes to life in your mind, that will keep you on the edge of your seat with your fists clenched, knuckles white, barely daring to blink or breathe in case you miss a single word. Harrowgate will haunt you, I guarantee it.

Please hurry with Day Breaker!

Great Continuation of this Series

Dawn Strider is the third book in the Devil of Harrowgate series that follows the adventures of our heroine, Six. She is an “Outsider” that has been imprisoned in he Harrowgate prison. A new monster is killing the prisoners in their sleep and she needs to determine how that is happening and solve the problem. The story is well written and exciting. This is a good read.

Underwhelmed by the third installment, which to me, felt like to was written by a completely different author. It was brief in length and content. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I was not excited about the new characters that showed up from a previous series. And although the relationship between Six and Kaimos progressed in terms of intimacy, the scenes with them interacting are few and far between.

The battle for all within the prison has officially begun. What is causing everyone within its walls to stay awake for days on end just to survive. Bad things happen in the dark and nobody is safe. Uniting with old friends and new alike may help.save people....or might not. What is hunting everyone, and can they find a solution? Tons of adventure, suspense, and some seriously bada$$ females to determined to save the day grace these pages. Bring on the next book 😉.

She gets me every time! Oh my! This book! Sooo good! Six is still trapped in Harrowgate and now the inmates are dying. One every night, but what is killing them? She is trying to figure it out, trying to remember what really happened to her and trying to discover what is really between her and the Horseman. Lots to do and not a lot of time to figure it out. What will she do? I love six, and Azlu! This is a great series and I can’t wait for the next book.

We all have demons, but the Horseman's got bigger problems. Six, Alexis, and Azul band together with their friends to save the lives of the inmates of Harrowgate, and to destroy the monster that's killing people within the prison walls. Another awesome book by Katerina Martinez, full of twist, turns, and surprise appearances of friends. You must read this series!

Up against a monster that attacks in dreams, Six, Alexa, and Azlu need to figure out how to defeat it before everyone succumbs to sleep and dies. Seline, Izzy, and several others are trying to get them out of there. This book is so full of nail-biting scenes and exhilarating fights it is impossible to put down! I loved it!

Enjoyed Reading

Book 3 of 4. Cliffhangers. Enjoying the series, but the author really needs to hire a proofreader. Errors seen are not any that would be found just using a spellchecker.
