An Inspiring read of the ebb & flow in the Author’s eventful life.
His earliest childhood memories of seeking admission in top notch english medium schools but being demotivated only due to his lack in the proficiency of the language is a fact that maybe uncommon but not missing even today.
I loved the fact that the author has not been diplomatic about the blessings of the opportunities he has gained in his journey. The anxiety of his search for the right passion and being supported by the family in every leap of faith is also a blessing in disguise.
Loved the account of event highlights during his stint in various countries including India and organisations alike.
This intimate narrative is a must read to learn, be motivated, explore and not rest until the goal is achieved 😊

This is book is a very inspirational read for its the moving autobiography of the extraordinary entrepreneur Mr. Sandeep Aggarwal who is also the founder of two multiple billion dollar companies : Droom and ShopClues.
This book is filled with his own experiences in personal and professional life which lead his to secure such a high position.
From his very childhood till he got success he has shared about what kind of difficulties he had to manage and what he did to overcome them. Such books definitely help us find hope and feel motivational so we can crave out our paths too. Once what seemed difficult only to dream now he was able to succeed in it.
Like many of us he had mediocre numbers in school and college, he was still polishing his abilities and slowly he stepped into the world of the US and there he became a sought after wall street analyst. Later he planned to launch india market focused online shop. I liked reading how shoeclue differently targets the market then the other online business giants. I liked how he overcame each hurdle with strong mindset. Each chapter is divided into short subchapters that truly helps understand the flow.
It's an enlightening, informative and yet again aheart warming read that lets us know the path to greatness is not easy, failure is inevitable in between but one has to believe in oneself and keep trying till the end.

In "Fall Again, Rise Again' Sandeep Aggarwal shares his success story. The title best describes the struggle and life of the author. How many of us would give up well settled life in the US? Sandeep did and came back to India and founded not one but two billion-dollar companies.
Sandeep's story is truly inspiring and motivating for readers. There's lot to learn from this. Recommend to everyone, but especially to entrepreneurs.

We can more or less can have idea about the topic from the title. Sandeep Aggarwal is the author of the book and he is an entrepreneur. And this is about his life, failure and success story if we sum up. The book starts with his schooling days in Chandigarh in 1976. Frankly speaking I randomly picked this book and before that I never knew about his work and I am really familiar to Shopclues but I never know he is related to it. Struggling to speak English, going to study in US and foundation of the company, his life is complete roller coaster and motivational for us. I liked his story as I feel he is one of us, and if he can achieve his dreams and greatness then definitely we can try for our aims. The book is written to the point without unnecessary drama or pulling the matter. I liked that. The language of the book is reader friendly. This is non fiction work still it’s like life story or story. I liked that. I recommend this to young generation but people of any age can pick it up. Overall good one. Inspirational story.

Do you like autobiography? Are you looking for some motivation? If so this book is perfect for you. I found the title itself as self explanatory and motivating. It is ok to make mistakes and learn from it, we fall many times before we start walking. Everything in life follows the same rule, we won't get everything right in the first try. We try, experiment many ways, learn from the process and grow from that. The experience is the biggest achievement.
Sandeep is from a middle class Indian family who couldn't even speak English properly. But there is no limit for his dreams and he didn't give up on his dreams. If we hold on to our dream and work hard for it eventually the universe will be in our favour.
I really enjoyed the book, it really is a motivational booster. Grab this book and read it.

He has explained how he implemented the learnings of what lacked in ShopClues into Droom. His journey of battling criminal court cases along with issues within family, is an interesting feat to read and learn from.
The book is an autobiography that's easy to read, with a good flow of writing and the tone appears friendly. The main idea of the book is that we may fall thousand times during our course towards success but we must not give up and still continue on the idea that got us to start with, and we should always look forward, keep going to rise again.

I know some people underestimate ShopClues and droom that is created by Sandeep Aggarwal.. but it is not that easy as most people think when it comes to building the companies from scratch but author did it with honesty, ethics, dedication.. He was accused for insider trading and he shared his worst days during those court proceedings like how people disrespected him and how investor's in ShopClues forced him to stepdown from his CEO position,etc.. as time passes court withdraw that case and meanwhile it took 7 year's for that thing to happen, in that period he built his second company Droom( 2 and 4 wheeler used vehicles sales app).. overall by the end of the book u can feel the entrepreneur life journey from a small town in India to building a billion dollar company..

The best thing I like about Autobiographies is that I don't feel guilty for reading someone's personal diary yet get to know whats going on inside their head, this was same for this too. I quite enjoyed reading it, the ups and downs, the failure, the motivation to keep going are very well penned.
The best part is that its chronological hence make it easier to comprehend.
I found it really helpful to understand the real world better & to understand author's world too.
I'll recommend it to everyone who enjoys non-fiction.

47th Book of 2020
It has been sometime since I stayed long with one book because I have got this bad habit of completing a book within 3-4 days as soon as I pick it up for reading. But due to certain events in personal life, I read Sandeep Aggarwal’s entrepreneurial-based autobiography named “Fall Again, Rise Again” quite slowly and peacefully maintaining notes of the same. Sandeep has co-authored this book with Sunny Sen. I got introduced to Sandeep Aggarwal when he judged a show based on Start-ups along with my favorite – Raghu and Rajiv on MTV. I got very much impressed with the kind of questions and interrogations he used to do with the contestants. It gave the vibes that he is a very knowledgeable and informative person in the field of Start-ups and creating something out of nothing. This book has just come like a surprise all of a sudden and I am glad I am done reading it.
The book stays very true to its title- “Fall Again, Rise Again” as the life of Sandeep has been almost on the same verge where he kept falling and rising again in almost every stage and big events of his life. I just couldn’t comprehend how Sandeep could create something new every time his last venture failed so badly – and this is what Sandeep speaks very vastly in this book by regularly sharing his personal experiences. His determination, hard work and never-quit attitude has been reflected in every page. As the book majorly speaks about how Sandeep developed ideas and then took it further in the market to get funding to develop it into a bigger establishment and finally, implemented several changes as the challenges kept coming in front of him, this serves as a very beautiful guide for anyone who has ever imagined himself/herself as an Entrepreneur or Start-Up creator.
Sandeep has written the book in the form of small chapters with smaller sections within them where each of them have some kind of a message for the readers- sometimes straight or otherwise for the readers to read between the lines and decipher what is the author trying to say behind this story. Mr. Aggarwal has shared how he learnt various lessons which he implemented later in his life while working in Microsoft headquarters – how not being fluent in English yet reaching up to a stage where he worked in foreign lands and even ended up becoming a person who gave regular speeches in different seminars and television programmes – how the power of building and maintaining relationships and networks can make you reach heights as opportunity can come from any direction etc.
Author has widely spoken on the challenges faced in entrepreneurship such as the hiring challenges where getting a good candidate becomes really difficult as no one wants to work with a start-up. Also, start-up needs some experienced candidates who comes with the requirement of a kind of package demand which a Start-up can hardly manage. As his most ambitious venture- ShopClues was more about operations, author explains how he learnt from this mistake which he corrected later when he founded Droom where he tried cutting off as many operational work as possible and became more reliant on technology.
Similarly, ShopClues was more about delivering products to the end-consumers where Sandeep has given an insight upon how courier charges vary in terms of the amount of orders received daily by the business. There are also some typos and spelling mistakes in the book which is surprising to have got missed when the book is drafted by two authors and proofread by Rupa Publications. Then, I also wished to know many things about author’s life which I think has been skipped like how he ended up becoming judge in MTV Dropout which made him known to other world of audience has not been mentioned at all. I wanted to know many more details about his routine, personal life, his philosophical beliefs etc.
Other than the few points mentioned above, this book is definitely needed in your book shelf. I give this one 4.25 stars out of 5. Please do read if you have aspired to be an entrepreneur or even if you are working as an employee.

It has been sometime since I stayed long with one book because I have got this bad habit of completing a book within 3-4 days as soon as I pick it up for reading. But due to certain events in personal life, I read Sandeep Aggarwal’s entrepreneurial-based autobiography named “Fall Again, Rise Again” quite slowly and peacefully maintaining notes of the same. Sandeep has co-authored this book with Sunny Sen. I got introduced to Sandeep Aggarwal when he judged a show based on Start-ups along with my favorite – Raghu and Rajiv on MTV. I got very much impressed with the kind of questions and interrogations he used to do with the contestants. It gave the vibes that he is a very knowledgeable and informative person in the field of Start-ups and creating something out of nothing. This book has just come like a surprise all of a sudden and I am glad I am done reading it.
The book stays very true to its title- “Fall Again, Rise Again” as the life of Sandeep has been almost on the same verge where he kept falling and rising again in almost every stage and big events of his life. I just couldn’t comprehend how Sandeep could create something new every time his last venture failed so badly – and this is what Sandeep speaks very vastly in this book by regularly sharing his personal experiences. His determination, hard work and never-quit attitude has been reflected in every page. As the book majorly speaks about how Sandeep developed ideas and then took it further in the market to get funding to develop it into a bigger establishment and finally, implemented several changes as the challenges kept coming in front of him, this serves as a very beautiful guide for anyone who has ever imagined himself/herself as an Entrepreneur or Start-Up creator.
Sandeep has written the book in the form of small chapters with smaller sections within them where each of them have some kind of a message for the readers- sometimes straight or otherwise for the readers to read between the lines and decipher what is the author trying to say behind this story. Mr. Aggarwal has shared how he learnt various lessons which he implemented later in his life while working in Microsoft headquarters – how not being fluent in English yet reaching up to a stage where he worked in foreign lands and even ended up becoming a person who gave regular speeches in different seminars and television programmes – how the power of building and maintaining relationships and networks can make you reach heights as opportunity can come from any direction etc.
Author has widely spoken on the challenges faced in entrepreneurship such as the hiring challenges where getting a good candidate becomes really difficult as no one wants to work with a start-up. Also, start-up needs some experienced candidates who comes with the requirement of a kind of package demand which a Start-up can hardly manage. As his most ambitious venture- ShopClues was more about operations, author explains how he learnt from this mistake which he corrected later when he founded Droom where he tried cutting off as many operational work as possible and became more reliant on technology.
Similarly, ShopClues was more about delivering products to the end-consumers where Sandeep has given an insight upon how courier charges vary in terms of the amount of orders received daily by the business. Fall Again, Rise Again by Sandeep Aggarwal with Sunny Sen (Rupa Publications) is a candid and honest memoir, narrated in a simple and very relatable manner.
The book starts off with his modest childhood that was filled with good values, but academic struggles nevertheless. From a child who wasn’t admitted to a school as he was not fluent in English, to someone who showed academic excellence in high school, the journey of failure to success was something that the author experienced right from childhood. However, college life was filled with more failure academically! But then again, he got a scholarship at university and rose once again.
As the reader delves deep into his life it all seems seems like a great roller coaster ride. His marriage and subsequent shift to the US; the making of the American Dream; his vast experience across different jobs; returning back to India and staring his first venture ShopClues; a charge of insider trading in the US and nurturing his next venture Droom. All this and more gives a picture of the deep personal and professional struggles that he underwent.
An individual is what he is because of the situation around him and the life experiences that he has. One of the most striking features of this book is how the authors link the then prevalent social and political scenario as a parallel to what was happening in Sandeep’s life at the time. When he was in college, the economic liberalization of the 1990s under the finance minister Manmohan Singh has really impacted the country. The Blue Star operation changed things. The advent of the colour TV had some role to play in his life. While he was in the US, the dot com bust gave another turn to events. It is interesting to view all these political and social events as a background against which the story of his life unfolds.
His insights about the other successful people he observed in his career are also quite perceptive as are the lessons from his own story. having met people like Sabeer Bhatia, Bill Gates, Steve Balmer and Charles Schwab amongst others, surely gave him a unique point of reference to view life and work.
One of the key lessons as the title suggests is that success is about persistence and not giving up in the face of failure. However, Sandeep’s example opens up many other insights as well- how you can learn from other successful people, how you can move seamlessly from one field to the other and capitalize on transferable skills (he moved from IT to finance to Entrepreneurship) and most importantly, how to acknowledge that failure is a part of ultimate success!

Sandeep is a middle class family boy story of this book starts where we read about the early school life of him and the problem of school life like choosing stream in 11th as well as facing inequality too because he didn't even able to speak english well but from the early age he wanted to do something big.
Although he shared about his college life too but real interest of the book starts where we get to know about his company named "Savitri financial service limited". This book shows all the ups and downs whome he faced and the real struggling phase of a entrepreneur early life. How he able to manage everything to stand up in this financial business.
Eventhough after all that he became the owner of Shopclues which started in 21st november 2011. But life dosen't stop here, some failure strike him hard and he step down from the CEO post of his business but afterwards he started Droom and started his life one more time from the beginning.

"Fall Rise, Rise Again" by Sandeep Aggarwal is definitely an inspirational one. The title actually attracted me towards picking it up as I want to know more about the fall and rise of the great Sandeep Aggarwal who is the founder of Shopclues and Droom.Describing about one's success is easy but describing more about one's failure is tough. That's what Sandeep has done in this book which is actually a motivation as he tried his best to achieve success in his life.
This book is from the start of his life till now like from his student life to that of launching his own startup.With great mention of google and microsoft, I actually got a lot of knowledge about the Internet world.Definitely Silicon valley will be the hot topic here being the hub of all the technologies there. Sandeep explored everything and with great difficulty came up with the idea of starting Shopclues and Droom.How he understand the concept of marketing in Amazon when he went to USA.Giving the example of Japan he says that knowing english is not the key to success.He made India proud with actually developing these two companies.

This is an autobiography of one of the successful entrepreneurs. By Author's name only you might have guess this book is about the startup owner of online portal shopclues. His life journey which is full of roller coaster of ups and downs is explained in the book.
His story will motivate a fresher or an entrepreneur who is stuggling and thinking of big dreams to achieve something in his life. Sandeep studied in India and could speak average english but his big dreams landed him in US and after a great fight he bagged with a analyst role in wall street. He achieved success but returned to his country to became a entrepreneur. Started an online portal from which he was discriminated and charges were pressed against himself but he rose from ashes and started a new company droom. He was finally free of all the charges in the year 2020 and his determination and strong will worked well for him in life.
I think the stories of startup entrepreneurs motivate you to never loose hope and should constantly think creative and new ideas for survival and to make his brand a big one in the industry.
Will definitelty recommend this story to read to everyone.

By reading his book I feel too motivated and inspire. As I am a management student and i must say this book is really helpful for me. Sandeep's life has full of success, failures, ups and downs, negative and positive surprises, and many big rejections too… but he always goes ahead.
