New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author, Pam Godwin, lives in the Midwest with her husband, cats, retired greyhounds, and an old, foul-mouthed parrot. She traveled the world for seven years, attended three universities, married the vocalist of her favorite rock band, and retired from her quantitative analyst career in 2014 to write full-time.

Her interests veer toward the unconventional: bourbon, full-body tattoos, and tragic villains. Equally peculiar are her aversions to sleeping, eating meat, and dolls with blinking eyes.

5 Star Review for Dark Notes by Pam Godwin

Another superb writing from one of my go-to authors and when it comes to the dark romance genre, Pam Godwin always delivers. The forbidden romance (student-teacher) theme is one of my favorite because I like the twist, the suspense, the angst, and Dark Notes have it all and so much more. And you know when its illicit affair the sexy scene is just oozing with so much hotness, I expect no less from this author when it comes to that and she didn’t disappoint.

Ivory Westbrook is not your typical 17-year-old high school student; she’d experience so many unpleasant things in life. No one cares about her well-being, emotionally and physically, she’s alone to face whatever life throws at her. But one thing I like about Ivory is her determinations to be out of this bad situation once she gets accepted to a prestigious music school that will hone her (piano playing) talent and eventually give her the kind of life she wanted. But sometimes life didn’t turn out the way we planned it.

Emeric Marceaux is the new music teacher, alpha-male, dominant, and charmed by the beauty of Ivory. After knowing the kind of life Ivory is living, Emeric is wholeheartedly set on to helping her. No matter what the consequences of this forbidden affair are, he’s the kind of man that will see to it that Ivory will always be his priority.

Ivory never felt this loved by anyone until Emeric comes along. After she’d been through she never thought anyone could love her unconditionally. The romance between these two people is just amazing. I doubt if you won’t fall in love with Emeric and admire Ivory after reading this book.

This boxset was pretty much a winner. Even the books I wasn't a huge fan of were mostly because of tropes. Plus it being free raises the stars on this boxset for me.

Dark Notes is so addictive!!!!
Pam Godwin can definitely deliver some dark romance and she certainly delivered with Dark Notes. This "forbidden" teacher/student romance between Ivory and Emeric touches on many levels of touchy subjects such as BDSM and abuse that some may find offensive. I really enjoyed the story and felt it was very emotional and well written that kept me glued from beginning to end.

Interesting box set

Although most of these stories ended on a cliffhanger, I thoroughly enjoyed this box set. As the name might suggests this aren’t sweet love stories. For more than half of them, I’ve ordered the next installment. Curious how the story will end.

Love Pam Godwin - Dark Notes was deliciously dark and twisted!
Anna Zaires is so amazing and Torment Me is so incredibly good!

This review is for Overture. Another incredible new series from author Skye Warren. This forbidden, taboo story is also drenched in the most heart wrenchingly unspeakable acts against Liam and Samantha when they were children. And we have really only been given glimpses into these tragic events. Liam takes Samantha in at the age of 12 when she becomes an orphan. Samantha is a child prodigy at playing the violin. Liam heads an elite security firm that he started after serving overseas. Liam is incredibly protective over Samantha as he believes there continues to be a threat against her life. As Samantha is about to turn 18 she no longer is willing to keep to herself how she feels about Liam but her love is unrequited as Liam says he can not love. The pain resounds from the pages and the notes play ominously in the background. Liam's brothers Josh & Elijah and Samantha's friends Laney & Bea are so important to them. I am so excited for Concerto and see how this amazing story unfolds.

Can't wait to read the rest of the stories in this box set!

Mountain Darkness (A Wild Mountain Men Novel, Book 1) by Vanessa Vale
WE PROTECT YOU

I was hooked on this suspenseful page-turner romantic suspense tale from the very beginning. What starts with a tragedy will include a claiming, passion, possession, and involve three key people—Kit, Nix, and Donovan. How far will two men be willing to go to finally claim “the one?” When you live in a small town, people talk—but when it includes murder—they take sides.

What a shock for Detective Nixon “Nix’ Knight and best friend, Donovan Nash from the DA’s office to learn that Kittredge “Kit” Lancaster is back—has been back in town for weeks and is now part of a murder investigation. The gruesome murder of Erin Mills will involve both men as part of the investigation and trial of the potential suspect—but how will they be able to help Kit and protect her?

The plot will have Nix and Donovan making their move on Kit, taking her back to Nix’s place to talk, to find out why she left over a year ago—and then to claim her as theirs. Kit was in love with both Nix and Donovan but misunderstood what she saw before she ran away and now it is time to lay the facts out and clear the air. But, can she really have both men—do they really want her too?

“I was being bold. I’d never been like this before. Wild Passionate. These two pulled it out of me, brought out a side I’d never known. They weren’t complaining. In fact, they liked it. Liked me this way, and that made me even hotter.”

With the murder of Erin, that places Kit, Nix, and Donovan in a sticky situation. They need to remain impartial and allow the investigation to take place, but her men need to protect her too.

“I had nothing to do with Erin’s murder, but that didn’t matter. They didn’t know who did, and that meant they had to follow the rules.”

The town is abuzz with gossip, and some will be so brazen as to question or accuse Kit while she is waitressing at the diner. Some people think they hold enough power and prestige to make substantial threats too. But, these people have underestimated the power of love and what two men are willing to do for one woman.

“As mayor of a progressive, modern town, I’d say you’re thrilled your son’s found love and that Kittredge Lancaster is quite the woman if she’s captured the hearts of not one man, but two.”

The story has several twists and turns as two men must continue with the murder investigation and in secret share the woman that has been special to them. But what happens when she tries to end things to protect them? How far are they willing to go to be with her?

“You gave us up to protect us. It pissed us off to know you were protecting us from you.”

“You make us one. Whole. A family.”

Jack of Spades: A Mafia Romance (Vegas Underground Book 2)
YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER SAW THE REAL ME

The story is the second in the Vegas Underground series but can easily read well as a stand-alone story. There will be a mention about people and incidences in King of Diamonds but is told in a way that the reader will not be lost. The story is about sweet, all-American girls who fall in love with mafia men. The story will also include more about Nico and Sondra, some of the battles they must face with his family, the arranged marriage contract, and true love, with a wedding.

Corey Simonson hails from Michigan and came to Vegas to attend graduate school, she has been studying psychology but is bored with it. She took a job at Bellimisso as a croupier and has a knack at being able to read players. She will have one man at her table that is off and later that night; she will learn that it is Stefano Tacone, brother to Nico who is engaged to her cousin, Sondra.

Stefano is impressed but cautious with Corey, especially after reading her file and knowing her Dad is a fed. He will ask her to work a private game upstairs, away from the casino floor, and it will become a night that changes things for both of them when a player aiming for Nico will pull a gun, and Stefano will kill him. Corey being a witness will now find herself held captive by Stefano and under his demands, which will include punishments. It isn’t all bad, but it goes against everything in Corey to accept being held prisoner and things out of her control.

“I might have to admit to myself that I enjoy being his captive. Leaving now would be a disappointment. I’m his captive. If I don’t cooperate, I’m dead.”

The plot will have Stefano and Corey getting off on a wrong start, but he tries to make things better, in his way, which is ordered her around. Corey has an independent streak, being a true red-head, and after living with an abusive father, then boyfriend, she doesn’t capitulate easily. She will find herself being punished and at Stefano’s mercy. He has been raised in the mob, taught to be tough, not to cry, and if that means killing, it’s all part of the family. What he wasn’t counting on was the way Corey makes him feel—and that is scary. The way she responds to his dominance is exhilarating and the more he is with her, the more he wants, he is becoming addictive to her. The only downfall, her father, a dirty FBI agent.

“I like it way too much. Just like you—a bad bet.” –Corey

“I don’t know. You try to define this; it’s not going to fit right. I’m not the one who’s gonna give you the white picket fence. I’m the guy who wants to pull your hair and slap you a** and spoil you rotten.”

“I still know our relationship is complicated—considering who our fathers are, but I don’t want to worry about that now. All I care about is getting closer to Corey. Getting into her head. Having her near me at all times.”

Stefano and Corey can’t seem to get enough of each other but issues with their families are always going to be there, and plays in the back of their minds. He comes from a Chicago mafia family, with his father serving time in prison, and she comes from middle America with an FBI agent and bully for a father. There is always the threat of trust, is she gathering evidence against him, or does he trust her? He listens to her stories of childhood, the abuse, the beratement, and what she wants and dreams of doing—and then he does what he can to make it happen, like taking her to another casino to play poker, including entering her in high stake games. He seems to be her champion, but do they really trust each other? What happens when something questionable comes up?

“I will always defend you.”

The story is a page-turner with a great cast of characters, plenty of interaction, with dominance and control by Stefano and submission eventually by Corey. She is no doormat, like her mother, she is a fighter, but knows when it is best to submit. The sex between them is an erotic dance of power exchange and includes punishments. What starts out as imprisonment and forced submission and punishments later becomes consensual. They will be tried by fire and tested between right and wrong, good and evil, and even though there will be a loss of faith, in the end, they will find their way back to each other and will have come through stronger than before.

“Justice was served, in its own way. It doesn’t matter to me if it happened on the right or wrong side of the law. My father didn’t uphold those laws.”

Dark Notes by Pam Goodwin
There is no mistaking that this author is exceptional. There is just something about the way that she crafts a story that is full of details that elicit an emotional response. This book is an example of that.

I loved Ivory. I loved the symbolism of her name and the piano. My heart hurt for what she went through. Then comes Emeric. Good lord this beautiful man. Their connection was palpable. I was 100%invested in the first part of the book. However, something happened about 3/4 of the way through the book and it lost a little of the spark. The climactic scenes (the first with her brother and cat(which I am still angry about) and then later at school) either felt out of place in context with the story or just felt meh. Even the epilogue years later felt meh.

I read this as part of Falling for the Forbidden Anthology collection. I would still recommend the book even though the last part fell short in my opinion.

Overture by Skye Warren
This book had been on my TBR for so long. I couldn't decide if I wanted to read it or not since age-gap stories are so hit and miss for me. I can say that I wish that I would have moved this up sooner on the list because the author did a good job at not making this creepy and or cheesy.

Full of angst, chemistry, and passion, I felt the draw of these characters. It was age-gap done right. I definitely was invested and it made me want to continue the story. I can only imagine that the author continues the angst buildup through the next books.

I read this as part of the Falling for the Forbidden Collection.

Violent Delights by Jessica Hawkins
I am not sure what I was expecting when I started this book other than the fact that this book was going to have many layers to the story. I was correct. The author did a great job at world-building and setting the stage for what it would be like to live in a Cartel world. Natlia was definitely a pawn in this game between Diego and Cristiano. I am not sure who was the good brother and who wasn't. It was apparent that there was a lot at play here. Just when I thought I loved Diego it would then change to Cristiano.

This book seemed to be setting the stage for the romance to come. I look forward to what comes next.

Mountain Darkness by Vanessa Vale
Books by this author are always good for a light-hearted read that really only happens in fiction. This book was more steam then actual story and I found that again, I wished it wasn't that way because I really did want a little more substance to the story. It ended with the mystery still unsolved.

I read this as part of the Falling for the Forbidden Collection.

Tormentor Mine by Anna Zaires
Updated
I read this for the second time as part of the Falling for the Forbidden Collection and LOVED it even more than I did the first time so I am changing my star ranking to a 4.5 stars instead of 4 stars.

In preparation for the conclusion, I had to come back and read this book. I did it backward and started with book three (which incidentally knocked me on my behind) but figured I wanted to know ALL the details that I had missed in the series.

I am glad I did because I was able to get a better understanding of what made these characters tick. This author does a good job of making the anti-hero a love interest. Any other time, there is No way that a stalker/assassin would be attractive but sweet holy hell, Peter is most assuredly a dream. His patience and the way he is always avidly invested in Sara is remarkable. Looking forward to where this story goes next.

Jack of Spades by Renee Rose
4.5 stars

Another great book from this author. Love how she makes spanking and punishment so sexy.I am pretty sure she can write anything and it would be good. However, her writing mafia makes it even better. This book had the suspense, steam, and characters to make this a great addition to this series of standalones.

🖤 Dark Notes by Pam Godwin 🖤
Dark Notes was my first read from Pam Godwin and it's a mind blowing!
Dark and forbiden become my absolute fav genre in romance after reading this book. And the steamy scenes?! Ohlawwdy Pam Godwin know how to burn those sheet with how hot they are!
Love how Pam build the world. Love how her characters tangle together. Love the darkness of the story!

🖤 Violent Delights by Jessica Hawkins🖤
Start with slowburn, the author build up my emotion for all the characters. But one moment in that masquerade party with Christiano... My knee goes week. My heart goes tump tump so wild. All my senses scream yes for him. While he was suppose to be the villain.

With intricate plot, the author take me in a journey through Natalia POV. It's mind games. What you see is not always what you get. Everything doesn't always what it seems. But my heart keep saying north, when all, specially Diego keep whispering to Nathalie who's the real villain.

Crazy how Ms. Hawkins write this first book in her new trilogy. The mind games are puzling. You will have doubts about what you see n hear. You will have second tought of the guy you're rooting for. But one thing for sure for me... Christiano is the one for me. He is that perfect villain. And the ending of this book cemented that.

🖤 Overture by Skye Warren 🖤
Definitly must read!

A new hit from Skye Warren, Liam North become a guardian for a twelve year old Samantha Brooks. Until she turn eight teen and they both realise their feelings are far from a father and daughter. But something evil lurking in the shadow. Not just the taboo of their turn out relationship, the truth about why Liam become Samantha guardian also have chance to change it all.

Now... Liam North... Have mercy...even his name on my lips make me a fool for him. That man... That beautiful, tough, torture soul of a man... Gaaah I want to grab him by the shoulder and shake him while screaming, "whyyyyy! "
Dang all sexy Alpha book husband! Liam North makes me crazy!

And Samantha... My beautiful Samantha. I'm screaming like a loon cheering for her. This young lady is amazing. Skye Warren breath a beautiful soul in her.

Love every detail the author sew in Overture. And all those extra FYI on top of every new chapter? I love that!

Waiting for the next book anxiously cause the cliffy! 😨

🖤 Dubious by Charmaine Pauls 🖤
This duet is one of my fav by Charmaine Pauls! She write the best dominant Alpha that you just love to hate but can't live with out and the main lady character that just rip your heart out while cheering her to be strong and brave to be able to stand up to the Alpha*hole.
And other thing I love about Charmaine's main male characters? They aren't perfect.
Like Gabriel. He's not an evil man with beautiful face. He's simply evil with looks that would make you run to opposite just by seeing him.
His way with Valentina are dubious. He manipulate her capabilities to love other people. He use her love for her brother. He basicly blackmailing her to become his.
But the way Charmaine write her story! She doesn't romantize the evil in Mafia world. But in the same time, she makes me believe even evil like Gabriel can love someone. And the "weak" like Valentina can be the strong one with her heart and bravery to love the evil.

Overture by Skye Warren
Samantha is a violin prodigy and her whole life is dedicated to music. Liam is her guardian, the man who has taken her under his wing and protected her. He gave her a place to call home and he means more to her than he can ever know! But the truth is that she's never seen him as a father, and she needs him and desires him, even though she's ashamed to admit it! A music tour will soon take her away from the only man she's ever wanted, so she decides to express her feelings, without considering the consequences! Liam is trying to keep his feelings in check, but he's unable to control his desire for the young woman who has stolen his heart! But he is afraid that his dark secrets will be revealed, and she will hate him. When an enemy from the past emerges, Liam will have to do everything in his power to protect his woman! A suspenseful and fascinating novel, Overture will make you fall in love with the beatiful story of Liam and Samantha. The desire and deep feelings they have for each other can't be denied and nothing can come between them!

Dubious by Charmaine Pauls
Gabriel is a ruthless loan shark who has no mercy for people who owe him money. But when he sets eyes on Valentina for the first time, he wants her, and what he wants he gets. Valentina is a young and proud woman, struggling to survive and support her disabled brother, Charlie. Charlie loves playing cards and now he has a huge debt. Of course Valentina can't afford to pay the money so she offers her service to Gabriel, in exchange for her life and her brother's. She sacrifices her freedom for nine years to the most feared man in town. What she doesn't realize is that Gabriel has no intention to ever set her free but plans to possess her by using manipulation. Will she be able to resist him? A dark, suspenseful read that I couldn't put down! The chemistry between Gabriel and Valentina is undeniable and you can feel every emotion that they experience! Both have been abused in the past and have never felt true love and affection, so it's heartwarming to see them falling for each other and not admitting it! Gabriel is a strong characteother. we are able to see behind his façade and I loved that he was also vulnerable when it came to Valentina! I also enjoyed the fact that Valentina is very dynamic and isn't afraid to defend herself and her brother! But she can't resist Gabriel, who's willing to do everything in his power to keep her with him! An unexpected romance between two people who are so different and yet so perfect for each other.

Tormentor Mine by Anna Zaires
Peter is a man obsessed with revenge and nothing will stop him! Sara is the wife of one of the men who are responsible for the death of Peter's family. Peter is determined to find all men responsible and kill them so he tortures Sara in order to reveal where her husband is. But nothing can prepare them for what follows! Peter becomes obsessed with Sara and wants her to belong to him, she will pay for her husband's sins with her freedom! Sara can't believe her husband caused that much devastation and feels guilty because she is attracted to Peter and feels his pain. As obsession turns into attraction and love, will they accept their feelings or will the past separate them forever? Peter and Sara's story is breathtaking, they are two people who have felt loss and are so lonely! Peter has his revenge and Sara has her work as a doctor, but they have nothing else, no hope for the future! Then their paths meet and their lives find new meaning even though they can't forget the past. An unforgettable story of two people who need each other more than they realise!

Review for 'Sweet Captivity' by Julia Sykes:
**********************************
***10+++Stars*** Hands down, this is one of my Top 10 All Time Fave books (& I have read literally THOUSANDS & THOUSANDS of books in just the last few years alone).
I have been so remiss in not reviewing this one before, but man oh man, how I looove it so. I have reread this one well over 15 times because everything about it just pushes my buttons, calls my name, makes me sigh, wince, worry, smile & tear up, hate (the villian); what more could a reader ask for?
Ms Sykes has created in this story (IMHO) a beautifully damaged, intense, DOMINANT, frightening Alpha male, Andres (anti-H) who is so much more than the reader & Samantha (h) suspect. Sucked deep into the horrifying world of his older brother's drug cartel, Andres is brutally scarred internally as well as externally; he is violent, vicious & powerful, hard & tough. And he eagerly accepts as a 'gift', the kidnapped & terrified Samantha from his older brother. And yet, somehow, Samantha is much, much more to the damaged Andres than she realizes.
And Samantha is also damaged from a childhood trauma she no longer remembers except that she desperately loathes & fears being touched. She's loaded with nervous energy, her brain is always in overdrive & other than on a computer finds it hard to focus & impossible to clear her mind. But Andres wants her as his, totally submissive to him in ALL things & ways, & he intends to touch her often & in any way he pleases. And Samantha will be completely HIS.
It seems as though their relationship is doomed from the beginning, is fraught with disaster & impossibility, & yet, maybe, just maybe, Andres & Samantha are exactly what & who the other needs . . . .
Again, Andres & Samantha's story made me wince, tear up, angry, frustrated, worry; made me melt, smile, laugh & sigh happily: there is danger, suspense, betrayal, revenge, vengence, action. There is sizzling steam, heartwarming & heartbreaking tenderness, discipline, growth & mutual understanding, a painful journey of healing, but most of all, LOVE in the darkest & bleakest of places & circumstances . . . .
I flipping ADORE & LOVE this story more than I am able to express & I cannot praise it highly enough.

Be aware: this is DARK with triggers, but an excellent, superbly written & awesome story.

Dubious by Charmaine Pauls
Dark Notes by Pam Godwin

I had never read any of Charmaine Pauls books and now I wish I had.
Dubious leaves you wanting so much more and makes you impatient for the second instalment.
Having read a number of gangster/mobster books, I started this wondering what to expect but the story captivates and guides you through the traumatic life of Valentina and her brother Charlie. Valentina is a determined character who has many secrets but the love of her brother and a quirk of fate leads her in to the path of Gabriel a loan shark.
Valentina must pick up the debts of her brain damaged brother and Gabriel expects her to pay.
What transpires is a heart racing page turner.
The scenes between Gabriel and Valentina will leave you fanning yourself and championing Valentina's struggle.
The dynamics between Gabriel and his mother Magda have you on edge with an air of unpredictability.
And there is more to come from Gabriels' ex and his daughter.
You really do need to read this book.
One of my favourite books of all time -book two – wow -I even bought the audible.
5 incredible stars

Dark Notes -
Wow. What a ride this was. You read, you digest and you reflect with this book. It keeps you thinking about it for some time after.
Ebony is a character you love and champion from the word go. Such struggles and tragedy but the determined spirit and the resilience within Ebony has you wanted her to have a happy ending.
Is Emeric the person to do this? Should he be the person to do this.
At times I was conflicted by his confidence and his unapologetic darkness but at others I got that he needed it to survive and be successful. His ability to nurture made me question whether in fact he was on a par with some of the individuals that Ivory already had in her life but this book is well written and this is not grooming but blistering attraction that would go no further unless it was consensual.
The chemistry and heat bounds off the page.
This is well written, explores a number of different issues without being in your face with it but most of all is page turner that is a must read. I did not see that coming with Shubert either - I will leave it with that.
5 easy stars

Overture by Skye Warren

Sometimes, with a taboo such as age, I’ll start out worried that I won’t be able to get past it - or worse, that I just won’t care (which is more likely.) Always, with a Skye Warren book, I know that I’ll love it, no matter where it takes me.
This book, although absolutely devastating in some of its raw emotionality, was no exception.
Samantha is young in the only way that seems to matter to society - a number on a piece of paper. In terms of actual experiences, and the awful things she’s lived through, she’s older than most people we’ll ever meet. She’s a little bit broken for it, but also a whole lot grown up. And she knows her own heart better than she gets credit for.
Liam never had much of a chance to be a child. If Samantha is a little broken, Liam is a shell - the major difference that he’ll never be able to reconcile who he is and what he’s been through with ever deserving normal, or love.
The two characters are explosive together. Not just the obvious chemistry, but the way Samantha tries her utmost to please Liam, always afraid that his hospitality might wane if she doesn’t.
Add in some unseen danger, a near-death experience, and some admitted desires, and this story leaves you absolutely hanging for more. I hate having to wait for the next installment, but I’m so excited that we get the chance to delve deeper into these characters. The wait will be so worth it!

Dark Notes by Pam Godwin

I have scratchy, exhausted eyes and I can barely function; I actually considered not sleeping last night because I could not put this book down. Then, when I should have been catch up napping with my baby today, I finished it. SO. GOOD.

I was surprised at every turn with this one because when it's a forbidden or taboo romance, you definitely have an expectation of where it's going to go and when it takes you on a different path, it's a nice thrill!

I loved Ivory immediately. She's one of the strongest characters I've read in a while, particularly after the shitty hand she's been dealt. While I was smitten with Emeric from the get-go (duh), he had to work and earn my love. And that kind of made me love him all the more.

I have a book hangover the size of the moon today coupled with my intense exhaustion but it was so worth it!

I'm reviewing three of the stories included in this collection.....

Renee Rose.. Jack of Spades
In book two of this series, we get Stefano and Corey's story. I think I like this one better than the first book. It's hot, it's steamy and I love it that Corey is a kick a** woman who can take care of herself but when it comes to Stefano, she needs him like she needs air to breathe. Corey works in the casino owned by Stefano's family. He's head of security and wants her from the first minute he sees her. When things go bad in a private game she is working, Stefano must take her into hiding to keep her safe and assure his family that she won't say anything. The relationship takes off from there. Throw in Corey's "dirty" FBI agent dad and you have misunderstandings out of the roof. Will Stefano realize the mistakes he's made and find Corey or will she be lost to him forever.

This book is one of the best I've read from Renee Rose. It's dark, it's gritty and it's so hot, you need a fan and some ice water nearby! I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Sierra Cartwright......Sexiest Billionaire
A great start to a new series by Sierra Cartwright. Jaxson and Willow's story had all the feels to it and even though things happened quickly between them, I still found it very detailed, relationship wise. I can tell I'm going to love this series!

Vanessa Vale........Mountain Darkness

I found Vanessa Vale's books last year and have been reading them as time permits. This new series intrigued me so I read it and wow.............so much like her other menage books but then totally different. I don't know how to explain it. This story is a little darker with a murder involved and Nix and Donovan trying to help Kit from being accused of the crime. And just when you think things are good.....bam!! I loved the ending, even though it's a bit of a cliffhanger. The trio is together and you know they will be but the crime has not be solved yet!!! You can bet I will be waiting for the next book in this series to see what happens.

Just the title of this collection is pure temptation :-D

It looks amazing just based on the book I have read already. It's Overture by Skye Warren.

Forget everything you think you know about sensuality. You will re-learn every sense of it with this tale.

Elegant writing, passion for music and a confessional tone underline this most beautiful romance infused with the perfume of the forbidden.

I tend to gravitate to musical or artistic themes in novels, so I couldn't believe my luck when one of my beloved authors, SW, announced her next creation to happen between a violin prodigy and her military guardian. If that doesn't thrum with dark notes of pleasure and angst, nothing does!

I marvel at the richness and complexity of these two characters falling in love that defies convention, reason or decency. Yet they fight against it with broken hearts. The writing is beautifully nuanced with emotion and honesty. Liam is tortured by his own nature full of shadows and secrets, tempted beyond endurance by the innocence of his ward. I felt goosebumps every time they shared an emotion while denying themselves the freedom to indulge it.

It is such a beauty of a romance to read. Perfectly tuned, a harmony of opposite forces as young Samantha finds her voice in a cacophony of doubts and fears, and the steel-willed guardian protects her from hidden enemies, from his basic lusts that never feel too much even when they are.

What takes this story into a place of its own is the levels it touches. Love, lust, but loneliness too, belonging and growing up, and the cyclopean strength required to set free what you love the most.
This has aroused my senses and my mind in ways I thought long dormant. I felt pure longing for this couple to find their broken happiness together. It ends on a plot twist that's going to turn Concerto into a craving.

DARK NOTES by Pam Godwin

5++++ Sinfully Erotic Stars!!!
"Nothing is inconceivable, and everything is possible. The proof is in the magic of the music."

That quote ^^^ is exactly the summary of how Dark Notes felt to me, from Ivory's unbeatable determination against the most disgusting, unforgivable excuse for human beings who tried to beat her down but she kept her dream alive no matter the cost, Emeric's devotion to not only teach, but also to protect, to rescue, and mend the innocence he knew had been stolen, to the music that went beyond the classroom and the piano....it was music that went soul deep, burning out of control with an intensity that consumed and devoured!!!

"Words aren't needed because we have something better. Our own notes. It's just us and our song, the tune pulsing between us, nourishing, fusing, and making us one."

Dark Notes by Pam Godwin is one of the most sinfully erotic, beautifully written books that I have ever read...it is one that I will have to have on my bookshelf of favorites to treasure forever!!

Falling for the Forbidden..... I'm very excited to read the other 9 Forbidden Novels included in this FREE box set!!!!

This book box set is amazing! There are ten full-length books from the most popular authors today and it's free. Absolutely love it!

My favorite book in the collection is Dark Notes by Pam Godwin. This is a very dark and twisted but compelling book. The main character, Ivory, is an aspiring pianist with dreams of attending an elite performing arts college. She has a terrible home life that is horrible to read about. Ivory finds a champion in her teacher, Emeric Marceaux, who is not typically seen as a hero character. Emeric is a very dark and tortured character living in a privileged world. Ivory has suffered so much throughout her life and Emeric is the only person that tries to protect her. The writing is excellent and I could not stop reading this story until I knew the conclusion. Highly recommend it.

This review is for Sexiest Billionaire by Sierra Cartwright...

Spankology 101

Jaxon and Willow were very entertaining and delicious to read about. Willow is the only daughter of a major contributor to Jaxon's business empire. Willow feels stifled by her parents over protection of her and ventures out on occasion to BDSM clubs to release her anxieties and stress. Jaxon is shocked when he see her walk into one of his BDSM club hangouts, but also intrigued and curious as to why she is there. The sexual attraction between them is immediate and intense. Jaxon quickly realizes after a "session" with Willow she means more to him than just a bottom to his top. Jaxon has no intention of letting her be anything other than his, and his alone.

Ménage, BDSM, and true romance...

Be aware several of these are series starters, but several are so tantalizing you will want to continue the tales.

My favorite was Vienna Betrayal. Again you’ll have to buy parts two and three separately, but this suspenseful read is worth it. It is so much more than a sexy BDSM story. From the beginning we know Alena is not who she portrays in the Orchid Club, but we don’t know why. The storytelling takes us into the headspace of both of these characters, bringing them to life. I was so entranced by this tale that the end came way before I was ready and before we get any answers. Yes, this installment ends on a cliffhanger. I was heartsick, but it was one sexy hot emotional read.

Mountain Darkness by Vanessa Vale review:

This is a great start to a new series that involves a menage and a murder mystery. Nix and Donovan have wanted Kit for a long time and when they were ready to claim her, she bolted town and stayed away a year. When misunderstanding on Kit’s part was cleared up, they finally were able to be together, or so they thought. Kit is a suspect in a murder and this changes things. The story is well written, entertaining and holds your attention. The sex between Kit and her two men is explosive. This is a great read and I would highly recommend it even though there is a cliff hanger at the end.

Just reread Jack of Spades by Renee Rose (originally from Vegas Underground series book 2) and it was an exciting, dangerous, quandary filled, sexy hot, delicious story. Stefano was called back from Italy to run the casino so his brother Nico could go out of town. Our heroin, Corey, is a dealer at the casino and Stefano did the equivalent of a secret shopper at her table. Things took off from there and didn’t stop. Great character and story development and as usual with Renee Rose books, it was habanero hot. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Looking forward to reading the rest of the enclosed stories. So far the reviews look promising!

What an incredible collection from incredible authors! There isn't one book on this collection which isn't a 5 star read!

In this instance I have selected Dark Notes by Pam Godwin as it's a particular favourite of mine for this review:

Both the book and the audio of Dark Notes had me completely captured. Yes, there are taboo aspects to this book, but, frankly, in this instance, I could see right past them and fall for this beautifully written couple. Both Emery and Ivory are fascinating. They are rounded, interesting and thoroughly developed characters and their story darkly compelling. Not to be missed. 💖💖💖💖💖📖&🎧
