"Ex" marks the hottest spot.

Having a fling with my ex-husband is a huge mistake. I might have walked out two years ago, but he divorced me. A meddling friend has set us up on a blind date, and though I should know better, I still can't resist Jack MacTaggart's hot body and his sensual skills. After one steamy afternoon in a Scottish hotel room, it's over—again.

But we forgot something on that day when we gave in to our mutual lust.

Autumn Flowerday left me without explaining why. Now she's back—with a revelation that changes everything. We're having a baby. All we've ever done is argue and shag, but that's not enough. Aye, the sex is bloody fantastic. But with a child on the way, we need to settle our differences. Maybe we have a chance…

Until the entire MacTaggart clan decides to help us out. Bloody hell.

Devastating in a Kilt is the ninth book in the award-winning, bestselling Hot Scots series of contemporary romances.

Anna Durand is a bestselling, multi-award-winning author of contemporary and paranormal romance. Her books have earned bestseller status on every major retailer and wonderful reviews from readers around the world. But that’s the boring spiel. Here are some really cool things you want to know about Anna!

Born on Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Anna grew up moving here, there, and everywhere thanks to her dad’s job as an instructor pilot. She’s lived in Texas (twice), Mississippi, California (twice), Michigan (twice), and Alaska—and now Ohio.

As for her writing, Anna has always invented stories in her head, but she didn’t write them down until her teen years. Those first awful books went into the trash can a few years later, though she learned a lot from those stories. Eventually, she would pen her first romance novel, the paranormal romance Willpower, and she’s never looked back since.

(audiobook) I’m always down for more Scottish goodness, and this author always delivers. Most of her contemporary series are connected, so a lot of characters from previous books in 3 different series come back, but you get enough background to understand their relationships with each other–no need to read a dozen books before reading this one, though you totally should.

This time, we focus on a cousin of the original MacTaggart, Jack. He meets Autumn in Vegas, has a shotgun wedding after twelve days of passion, and divorce twelve weeks later because they can’t find a common ground after moving together in Scotland. Then they meet again. Then again, because Autumn has a surprise for her ex-husband.

I really enjoyed how the surprise pregnancy played in the second chance romance. Because they need to work together in this co-parenting thing, they have to talk about why their marriage failed, which brings to light all the things they didn’t say the first time around.

Clearly, though they have an off the charts chemistry, Autumn and Jack’s main problem is the lack of communication. They keep secrets from each other; they hide their feelings; they even hide who they really are from their families and friends. Not a good foundation for a marriage. That’s what they’re trying to fix in the first part of the book.

I felt the second part was unnecessary, but it was still entertaining. First, the whole MacTaggart clan–and friends–arrives to help the blooming couple, and share some Scottish cultural elements. Then, there’s a tiny bit of suspense with a secondary plot. So, even though the book could have ended when they get back together, it wasn’t exactly annoying that there was more to it.

Both narrators give life to Autumn, Jack, and ALL the other characters, with a delicious accent throughout the story. With talent, they bring emotions and passion to the story.

Quickie

- Series: Hot scots #9 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #second chance romance #surprise pregnancy #Scotland
- Triggers: stalker
- Main couple: Autumn Flowerday & Jack MacTaggart
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + I loved how the second chance worked here
- – the MacTaggarts have no concept of boundaries

Autumn and Jack's spur of the moment marriage has been over for awhile when she takes a vacation to his beautiful country, Scotland, and somehow ends up being set up on a blind date with him. Her ex. The man with whom she could not make things work because he was so freaking stubborn. Well, he is a Scot...

Autumn knew she shouldn't have let her friend urge her into vacationing in Scotland, should have known somehow she'd end up back in the hot Scot's orbit and she wouldn't be able to resist him. Will they be able to make things work this time around? Or are the American and the Scot doomed to be at odds permanently?

This a fun, sweet, and sexy second chance story. I love that it's set in one of the countries of my adopted heritage, and I love the whole MacTaggart clan and how they meddle and fuss over each other, all out of love. Autumn had never had such a loving family, so to see them accept her and treat her as family was perfect. Men in kilts are hot, and she deserved her own sexy kilt-wearing hottie and his big, loving family.

Devastating in a Kilt by Anna Durand is actually the 9th novel in the Hot Scots Series. It was my first novel by Anna Durand. Even though I haven’t read any of the prior novels, I was able to read Devastating in a Kilt without an issue.

That being said there were some references from prior books that you need to take into consideration while reading this. If you’d like, you can binge the books before this series to catch up on all of the characters. The MacTaggart family is huge and there are a plethora of books by this author to chose from.

Dr. Jack MacTaggart is a sexy psychologist from Scotland who traveled to Las Vegas for a work conference. *Swoon* The accent does it for me. He unexpectedly sees one of the most beautiful (bonnie) women he’s ever seen sitting at the bar. They start to chat, hook up and one thing leads to another and the two ends up walking with Elvis marrying them.

That all happens before we are even in chapter one. This second chance romance starts off with an already divorced Autumn and Jack. The fact that they’ve been separated makes the passion and scorching chemistry between Jack and Autumn THAT much hotter. I am grateful to have received this ARC as I was introduced to a hilarious group of Scots and Brits, a big crazy meddling family and a second chance romance that melted my heart. I am always eager to read a second chance romance especially if there is a divorced couple!

Autumn and Jack are so cute the way they were with each other was so touching. Even though Jack was rude to Autumn initially he is mature and owns up to it leaving it impossible to stay angry at the sexy Scot. Autumn is an American who years after her divorce from Jack, is on a vacation per one of her friend’s suggestions.

Running into your ex-wife/husband at a hotel sounds hot. Being set up on a blind date with them is hilarious. Here we get both scenarios.

I absolutely adore the relationship between Jack and Autumn! You could feel the chemistry and passion between them. They wanted to be with each other so badly but neither of them could admit their feelings or the truth.

We wait anxiously for each of them to finally share how they feel about each other, what went wrong and how if they can even make it work. Unfortunately for them, or perhaps fortunately, fait intervenes leaving Jack and Autumn no choice but to have to work out their relationship.

I truly enjoyed reading Devastating in a Kilt and seeing the progression of their relationship. I would definitely recommend this second chance, erotic, accidental pregnancy romance to romance lovers. It was adorable and the perfect second chance romance which is one of my favorite genres.

I received an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Anna Durand never disappoints with her amazing Hot Scots books! I loved everything about Jack and Autumn's story! Shane East and Emma Wilder narrate this audio.

Autumn and Jack have a complicated history. This story is full of little twists and turns at the beginning of the story that will have you fully invested in Jack and Autumn's love affair. Plus, would a Hot Scots book be complete without some meddling. Alex Thorne is back at it again weaving his magic to make sure these two end up together. The intensity between Jack and Autumn is super hot, and my favorite chapters was their time spent at the castle.

Shane East and Emma Wilder do a fantastic job narrating this audio! Shane's Scottish accent is perfection with the amazing touches of Gaelic too! Emma Wilder's male voice is super hot, not to mention when she adds her Scottish touch to it! These two made me feel every bit a part of this story.

Anna Durand has written another witty, charming, and steamy Hot Scots story! I could not push pause on this audio. This story had just right amount of suspense and a whole lot of love!

‘Devastating in a Kilt’ is my first read by Anna Durand, promising elicit rendezvous between Autumn Flowerday and her ex-husband, Jack MacTaggart, a strapping stranger from bonnie Scotland. When two people separate, things stay separate. But in this read, ‘x’ quite literally marks the spot.

Several characters were introduced throughout the novel, both adding many possible branches for stories in the future, as well as a possible plausibility for confusion if not paying attention. If you’re familiar with a big family/character selection fear not, you will be at one with this novel. If you’re used to something more small-town, focused on the two main characters, you might struggle. Nonetheless, you won’t be short of anything with the broad selection offered to you. However, the main characters are the stars of this novel by far.

Both Jack and Autumn were characters well-written in portraying some degree of how two people from different backgrounds can be perceived sometimes. In this case, as someone from America and Scotland, two different worlds and lifestyles thrown together, twice, in binding circumstances. In particular, Jack’s character hits base with Scottish stereotypes and creative licence both, giving you a character that you both love and want to hit over the head with a bagpipe a time or two. Still, as Autumn herself found out, there’s no way to resist a man—albeit a fictional one—in a kilt. But if you want to see if the legends are true, you’ll have to pick up this book to find out for yourselves!

The characters themselves, both main and supporting, were woven well into the overall storyline to give an in-depth, close-up, no-holds-barred look at two people trying to navigate a whirlwind relationship, as outlined in the book’s blurb. Typically in a book among the many routes characters take, they either know them from childhood/teens and get together as adults, or get to know one another as adults and stay the course. Devastating in a Kilt takes its own spin-off on the latter, with the added dash of whirlwind romance. Getting to know the characters as they got to know one another was an enjoyable journey, feeling as though I was an in-story observer rather than just a reader.

Stepping aside from the characters for a second, let’s talk scenes and pacing. I praise Anna for giving the in-depth time for us to get to know the characters and what happened around them. What I had difficult with was the pacing. Scenes and events within those scenes were sometimes minutes apart, hours at most, and they were split up into different chapters when I feel there was no need. Carrying on the chapter with the next scene would have been fine, as there wasn’t a significant shift in time or heightened importance of some scenes to warrant a chapter change. This would be my only criticism of the whole book, hand on heart.

I came into this as a blind read and despite my previous criticism, I without a doubt loved and enjoyed Devastating in a Kilt. I’m not one who is able to resist a story starring a Scottish hero, or set within the stunning Scottish highlands, and this story written by Anna Durand did not fail to deliver an enchanting read.

I look forward to reading more Anna Durand novels. Hopefully more set within Scotland so we can have even more kilt time!

Four (although I would give it 4.5) stars for Jack & Autumn!

I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, and I admit to being a bit worried that I might feel lost by starting with the ninth book. "Devastating in a Kilt" reads as a complete standalone, however, and I'm glad I gave it a shot because I really enjoyed this cute second chance/accidental pregnancy romance.

After a whirlwind romance and wedding in Las Vegas, Highlander Jack MacTaggart took his new bride, Autumn Flowerday, home to Scotland with him, but their marriage fell apart almost as quickly as it began. In a last-ditch effort to save their relationship, Autumn begged Jack to move back to the U.S. with her, but he refused, so she left him and they divorced. Nearly two years later, Autumn and Jack were tricked into meeting up again on a "blind date" and found that while the fiery chemistry between them was still there, so were their differences. They spent a memorable afternoon together but went their separate ways, until Autumn showed up at Jack's door eight weeks later to inform him that they were about to be parents. That was where the story really began as Jack and Autumn tried to figure out how to build a healthier relationship so that they could co-parent successfully when the baby arrived.

I liked Jack despite his tendency toward moodiness and the fact that he basically held Autumn hostage in his house when she first returned to Scotland. Autumn was a sweetheart even though it seemed like she delighted in pushing Jack's buttons at first. As the story unfolded, it became clear that she was just trying to get him to be more relaxed, like he was when they first met in Las Vegas. All Autumn wanted was for Jack to be true to himself and stop hiding behind the mask he wore for his family for so long. Jack and Autumn really were cute together, and it was easy for me to cheer them on to their HEA.

I recommend "Devastating in a Kilt" for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I will definitely be picking up more of the books in this series. Jack's sweet, slightly crazy, meddling family members were a highlight of this story and I look forward to learning more about them.

There is nothing better than a hot Scottish man who loves to speak gaelic terms of endearment to a woman he loves. Even if that woman is his ex-wife who left him after 12 weeks of marriage. Jack and Autumn have a very complicated relationship that starts off with them hooking up in Las Vegas and getting married after knowing each other for only 6 days. Jack lives in Scotland so Autumn moves there with him only to be kept in their apartment and away from any friends or family. After 12 weeks Autumn has had it with Jack hiding her and gives him an ultimatum which he refuses so she leaves.

Two years later, Autumn takes a trip to Scotland at the recommendation of a friend and is talked into going on a blind date only to find that date to be Jack her ex. They both are frustrated, angry and don't understand how their friends could do this to them. Once they are alone for a few moments though they find they can't keep their hands off one another. When Autumn wakes the next morning she finds Jack gone with no explanation.

A few weeks later Autumn returns to Scotland to confront Jack and share some exiting but scary news with him. He is so discombobulated that he again holds Autumn hostage in that she can't go outside, answer the phone or door. As days go by the two talk and begin to address their problems. From there they begin to find their love for one another again and Autumn is introduced to Jacks family, who love to meddle. They begin to do just that in order to help Jack and Autumn get back together. The MacTaggert family is full of unique individuals who are fun and very determined in anything they set their minds too.

Devastating in a Kilt is such a fun, romantic, very sexy read, with a tiny bit of mystery, lots of angst and lots of meddling family. I loved Jack and Autumn and enjoyed reading of their reunion and all they places they go and things they do to find their HEA. I highly recommend Devastating in a Kilt, it's a read that will have you dreaming of a trip to Scotland and maybe even finding a Scottish love of your own!

STORY
I like this story and the concept of this story. I appreciate some second chance romances, and this one was ok. I have never read the series before this, so I was not familiar with the series.

Jack and Autumn married on a whim in Vegas without really knowing each other. As quickly as they got married was as quickly they got divorce. They reconnected again on a blind date which led to a big surprise. Sometimes what stares me away from second chance romance are the issues that led to a couples’ demise that repeatedly gets brought up. Sometimes I feel like it’s rehashed over and over to where I loose interest. However, although I felt that way at times, I still like the fun comedy, sex and the family in this story.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were satisfactory. I like Jack’s and Autumn’s chemistry. The I don’t want to complicate things, but I want you thing was good to read.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I love! Jack’s family and this is what makes me interested in this series to read their stories. I am curious and look forward to reading them.

OVERALL
A moody at times Scot and a sweet likable female character and a funny nosy family.

✰✰TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Another MacTaggart is down for the count!

Sexy intellectual Dr. Jack MacTaggart is swept away by the captivating Autumn Flowerday while he's in Vegas for a psychologists conference. After a whirlwind romance that includes an Elvis wedding and trying to live together in his Scotland home, she returns to America, convinced that the marriage was a mistake.

Now they've been set up by their friends on a blind date that leads to the same incendiary chemistry that fueled their short-lived marriage. Only this time, there's no walking away.

I loved that Autumn didn't try to hide the pregnancy or go it alone. She doesn't seem to have much respect for Jack's profession, or for Jack himself, which makes it difficult for Jack to figure out how much to trust her willingness to stick around. He's also got to figure out how to meet her in the middle as far as their living arrangements go. They have plenty of things to argue about, but also plenty of passionate chemistry that distracts from their conflicts.

Jack may be a skilled and insightful therapist, but he's having a hard time finding his own answers. I really enjoyed getting to know the rest of Jack's side of the MacTaggart family, and loved how they helped him sort out his feelings and listen to what Autumn really needs.

There's a wonderful HEA in store followed by a quick segue into the next couple's story. I am really enjoying the entire Hot Scots series, and wouldn't want to miss any of them. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is book 9 in the series but its the first time I have read this series or this author and well I absolutely loved it. It mostly takes place in Scotland and the prologue takes place in Vegas.

The male lead in this story is Jack MacTaggart and he is a psychologist who is great at helping people but awful at helping himself. At times I struggled to understand him. He comes from this awesome family but he marries Autumn in Vegas, and then takes her to Scotland but refuses to ever let her meet his family. When they eventually divorce and have a one night stand and then she comes back to Scotland pregnant, well you'd think he would introduce her to his family but he instead hides her. Lets say he has LOTS of issues.

Autumn was an awesome character. She is willing to explore life and love and take chances and well that made her this awesome character. She even seemed to really understand Jack's character. But her spontaneity at times worked against her at times with Jack, What I loved about this story is how she really learned and grew and really started to understand Jack in the things he didn't say.

This is very much a second chance at love with an ex romance that takes place in Scotland. Its about two people learning and growing and deciding what they want their future to be and an awesome family that drives them a bit CRAZY. It also had some really wonderful humor and I laughed along with the characters.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the first book I have read by Anna Durand but it certainly won’t be the last, I was drawn in and captivated by her strong, descriptive writing, I adored the characters and the story. This is book nine in the Hot Scots Series but I’m prove this book can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, that being said I’m looking forward to playing catch-up with the previous books.
This is Dr Jack MacTaggart and Autumn’s second chance at love, this book starts with them meeting in a Vegas bar, one thing leads to another and they end up getting married by Elvis. Fast forward to the next phase in their life and we join the story with them divorced and living on opposite sides of the pond. A holiday to Scotland brings Autumn face to face with her ex and it’s clear these two still have plenty of bend up emotions for each other and what follows is an entertaining read as we get to know this couple and their hilarious friends. Jack and Autumn coming face to face wasn’t a chance meeting it was a blind date set up by their friends so will second time around work out any better for them....
Guess you need to read the book to find that out.
This is an entertaining, hilarious read that left me wanting mote from the MacTaggart Clan, the chemistry is sizzling and the banter is witty, the characters ate easy to love and their story is fun and captivating. Looking forward to reading more by Ms Durand.

A second chance, allowing love to overrule fear

Devastating In A Kilt (Hot Scots Book 9) by Anna Durand transports the reader to beautiful, warm, friendly and charming Scotland. The Highlands are full of charming, hot Scots and Jack MacTaggert is no exception. It’s plain to see that Autumn and Jack’s issues are not physical. These two combust just by looking at one another. But they both have deep seated issues which brings fear to the forefront that triggers a flight response. As a result, both are heartbroken and lash out as a result.
The plot takes Jack and Autumn on an emotional journey where they try honest and open communication no matter how difficult it may be. In between the heavy talks, there’s a lightness that both experience as they truly get to know one another in all the ways, moods and day to day living. Throughout this process, I love that Jack and Autumn explore the Highlands. Autumn is thrilled and excited by every place visited and Jack loves that he made that happen, finally. There’s epiphanies along the way for these wonderful characters that inspire hope and healing along with the assurance of a HEA.
Overall, Jack and Autumn began to repair their too-short marriage for one reason only to realize love supersedes it all. Overcoming their fear and facing their own responsibilities in their ill-fated first marriage attempt, becomes a solid friendship and soul mate love of a lifetime.

DEVASTATING IN A KILT is the ninth book in the Hot Scots series. Though each book will stand on its own, for maximum enjoyment read them all and in the order of release, plus Brit vs Scot as book 8.5.

Sexy psychologist, Jack MacTaggart’s story is finally told. This bad boy had a quickie wedding in Las Vegas! Unfortunately it ended before the book even began. This story is all about their second chance at romance. It’s made even more hilarious by the ever-meddling family of MacTaggarts because it’s done with their love.

I loved the relationship between Jack and Autumn, but I loved the meddling of the family even more and their reactions to it all was what kept me glued to my kindle. Jack and Autumn were meant to be together. They each knew if for themselves, and I loved reading them working it out and coming together.

This story of accidental pregnancy, second-chance, and erotic steamy love is perfectly written and beautiful.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC from the author, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Anna Durand is a new to me author which confuses me since I LOVE LOVE LOVE a man in a kilt so how did I miss this series?! I have to say that Autumn & Jack seriously need to learn how to communicate because they could have saved themselves a lot of chaos had they done so LOL! He's even Dr. Jack MacTaggart, a psychologist to boot. These two meet up in Vegas, and end up getting married, but now they're divorced. Fate steps in at a later date, and Autumn takes a vacation in Scotland, and even more hilarious, finds herself on a blind date with her ex-husband. He's not necessarily nice at first, but with that intense chemistry they have which started everything, they find themselves hooking up again, only this time, there won't be any sort of clean breaks now. I found myself laughing quite a bit in this awesome story as the meddling family added to the story in hilarious ways. On another note, the second chance aspect is amazing as well, even though I'm not always down with divorced couples for whatever reason. Now, I find myself needing to read all the previous books in this series because I suspect that I've really been missing out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Devastating in a Kilt is the 9th book in the Hot Scots series, but it can be read as a standalone book.

Jack is a psychologist and the "serious one" in the MacTaggart family. He meets Autumn in Las Vegas, and the two have a crazy, unconventional 12-day courtship and get married at a Vegas Elvis chapel. Autumn moves to Scotland for Jack, but he puts distance between them and won't introduce her to any of his family or take her to see any of Scotland. After six weeks, she tires of his attitude and makes plans to return to America. She asks him to move with her, but he refuses, and she leaves. He never follows.

Almost two years later they are set up on a blind date (by family and friends). It goes all wrong, but they end up having sex anyhow. Cue the surprise baby. Now they are trying to figure out if they can get along well enough to co-parent. Over time, they both start to deal with the issues that made their relationship go south and correct the behaviors that sabotaged it. Can they sort it out before they tell their families about the baby on the way?

These two give lack of communication a whole new meaning
The first chapter was a bit like being tossed into the ocean during a storm. Everything was happening so fast then suddenly it was over and they found themselves sailing in uncharted waters

I can't recall ever reading a more mismatched absolutely perfectly imperfect for each other couple - the back and forth between them kept me in stitches. They took disagreeing to a whole new level and then upped the ante some.
As much as they bumped heads they bumped hearts even more
They had both believed it was over for them that what they had felt was just a fleeting fancy that wasn't enough - They weren't enough.
Thanks to a friend
A couple of bowls of soup
and -
A bit of celibacy (have to blame something)
They are going to get a second chance to make it work

A far fetched hilariously smexy romance that checks all the boxes

OMGosh! Love this book! This is book 9 in this series but my first book in this series. The story is ear and eye catching! It is filled with fun, drama and those hot scots! I enjoyed the flow of the story..not once did I feel like I Showed up in the middle and I was missing something. Everything (from past books) was explained when needed. The characters really are delightful. I really came to care and worry about these two MC and wondered if they would be okay. Each seemed closed off but for different reasons. They just never seemed on the same page and worries they wouldnt be.

Then we have all the other McTaggart’s thats show up. I will say it makes me curious about each of their stories. They are fun, loud, crude, and busybodies but its all done with love of family.

I did listen to this on audio. Shane East and Emma Wilder are the narrators. They each do really really well. A most enjoyable listen and I look forward to more!

Emotional and thoughtful

Autumn and Jack have a quick fling in Las Vegas that leads to marriage. Their passion ignites quickly. When they go to Jack's homeland of Scotland he is not sure how to handle his impetuous decisions. Autumn does not understand the change in him. She leaves and they divorce.

A friend's meddling brings them back together. The scene in the restaurant is quite funny. The shower scene is vividly described. It is very hot.

I'm glad Autumn and Jack are able to work through their differences. It is hard for Jack to come to grips with how he acts with Autumn. It is very different than his usual behavior.

I like the scenes at the castle. The dancing was well described.

The MacTaggart clan is a rowdy bunch. They stick up for each other.

I look forward to more stories in this series.

Devastating in a Kilt is the first book I have read by this author. It is the ninth book in the Hot Scots series, and I will read more. I never felt I was missing anything.

I love huge noisy families, and the MacTaggart clan and extended family fit this perfectly. It makes for the crazy, rowdy, meddling shenanigans galore! Do not forget the MacTaggert grapevine. The moments that his family brings are hilarious. Jack is the latest MacTaggart to fall, and he is the sexy doctor.

Autumn and Jack meet in Vegas twelve days later, hastily married, and head back to Scotland. As strangers from different countries, it does not last. But that meddling family has other ideas, and a second chance presents itself. Can they overcome their differences? Can they coexist with arguing?

I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.

This is a funny, sexy, and entertaining second-chance romance. It involves two people who seem to go together like vinegar and water except in bed and a large, interfering Scottish family and friends. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. There are many fun times and laughs in this story. The shenanigans that Jack's family and friends get up to are funny and add a lot to the story. The banter between Jack and Autumn was funny. They were both stubborn and strong-willed. Their chemistry was sizzling hot. The H can be frustrating at times but I warmed up to him. I liked watching how their story unfolded. They both had a lot of work to do to mend their broken relationship. They give new meaning to communication is key. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more from this author.

My book preferences are simple. An alpha male with an equally strong female lead. This book met it all and the alpha was Scottish? I enjoyed this book so much.

Jack and Autumn met in Las Vegas and had an amazing 12 days together. They got married and Autumn moved to Scotland. However, things didn’t work out. Fast forward they have an amazing night together and Autumn is back in Scotland trying to make things work because she becomes pregnant after that one night.

To say I loved Jack, was an understatement. He’s Scottish, smart, grumpy and caring. Talk about the perfect book boyfriend for me. Autumn was definitely a favourite character for me. And all the MacTaggarts? Hilarious and awesome. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This is the 9th book in this amazing series and is Jack and Autumn’s journey. Jack and Autumn meet when he is in Vegas on business, and the hit off instantly, which leads to getting married by Elvis, but when they head back to Scotland, reality hit in, and things do not go well, which results in Autumn leaving. No 2-years later they are divorced, when a well-meaning friend sets them up on a blind date. The chemistry between them is still off the charts and undeniable, but will they get their 2nd chance at happiness? This is a well written entertaining read, which has a crazy family, passion, and is a humorous, and steamy read. I was totally enthralled throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Devastating in a Kilt is the ninth book out of Anna Durand’s Hot Scot Series. It follows Jack MacTaggart, the town psychologist as he and his ex-wife, Autumn Flowerday, find their way back to each other after getting divorced. This is of course, aided by meddling family members.

You never know what you’re going to get with Anna’s books. These characters get into the craziest situations. Overall, I did enjoy the book. There were a lot of great scenery, funny moments and hot times. I would have to say though that I found myself with the need to knock some sense into Jack. He was a perfect example of how smart people can be the most clueless sometimes. Autumn is definitely more patient than I would be.

It was love at first sight and they got along great, so Jack & Autumn decided to get married in Las Vegas. But when they moved to Scotland and Jack changed at the spot, being only interested in his job as a psychiatrist, Autumn left and returned home. Two years (and a divorce) later they meet again through a blind date, and guess what: the chemistry between them is definitely still there. But will they give in?
I loved this story, especially the fact that the whole family is meddling in this relationship, just because they want this couple to be as happy as themselves. And for the McTaggarts it’s always easy to find a reason to organize a party.

I received an arc of this book and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I’ve always wanted to go to Scotland & this book just cemented that dream for me even further. I love love their accents & it was so different to read the Gaelic accent. Really interesting.

The McTaggart’s are one meddling, pushy bunch that you just can’t help but love. I had a hard time liking Jack at first but he definitely grows on you. I loved how wild side.

Autumn is wish washy & flighty but she also brings out the best in Jack. These two compliment each other in the best & worst ways. It was fun to watch them slowly work on their communication skills & mend the rift between them. The ending was so cute & also left you really looking forward to Kristy’s book.

Devastating in a Kilt is a second chance romance in a round about way. What happens in Vegas as we know doesn't always stay in Vegas and that is the case for Jack and Autumn. However a quick relationship and an even faster marriage sometimes leads to disaster. These two are drawn back together with some meddling friends and family that gives for some great entertainment. As these two continue to argue something will come up that will ensure there is no walking away this time. Jack will need to deal with his own feelings and finally listen to the needs of the woman he loves. An entertaining story with a wonderful HEA.

I am a HUGE fan of the Hot Scots series, and Jack and Autumn's story is another great experience with the extended MacTaggert clan.

Jack has emerged in the prior books as the family therapist, but we didn't know that Jack was suffering his own broken heart after his divorce following a whirlwind romance. Having a fling with your ex-wife is not generally the smartest choice, and when it leads to an unexpected pregnancy, you may regret that choice even more. However, for Jack and Autumn, it was the second chance they needed to get it right.

They were both so playful and so loving the second time around.

This was a great read. I'm looking forward to the audio.

Fabulous! I was so enthralled with Jack and Autumn’s story, I didn’t want it to end. The narration by Emma Wilder and Shane East is perfection. In this next in the Hot Scots Series, Jack tries so hard to uphold the persona of the sensible, level-headed, professional psychologist that he thinks is expected of him. But when he meets Autumn, the wild and impulsive side of him that the McTaggert men are noted for, comes out. The attraction between them is explosive and unavoidable. Like every book in this series, it is engrossing and filled with passion and also has just the right blend of humor. HEA guaranteed.
